About this cabin rental
Welcome to Pine's most beautiful cabin with the largest deck in town - all fully remodeled. Our cabin is one of the very few cabins in Pine/Strawbery that backs up to the national forest. Surrounded by an abundance of large pine trees and breadth taking views, our cabin is perfect for large or small groups. With a massive deck that has over 900 sq ft and looks into the national forest, and modern amenities like high speed internet, it's an amazing place to spend time with friends and family.
Sitting among massive pine trees, our cabin is spacious with 3 bedrooms (comfortably sleeps 8 people) and 2 bathrooms, a large leather couch, huge flat screen TV with high speed internet and WIFI, Netflix, cable TV, and even Nintendo for the kids. The entire cabin was custom redesigned with an elegant kitchen, stainless steel appliances, Keurig Coffee maker, plenty of cookware and a large family table to enjoy meals. Our massive custom windows throughout the cabin give you the feeling like your sitting in the forest. The bedrooms are comfortable with plush bedding, along with real air conditioning and central heat for those cold nights.
Did I mention the deck? It's massive, with over 900 sq ft of usable area, it's the perfect place to enjoy the cool air, BBQ or just have fun.
Looking to hike in the forest? Guests can literally walk to the back yard and enter the national forest. Our cabin is in a premier location, 3 minutes from main street on Pine, very close to the world famous Old County Inn Pizza Restaurant, Pine grocery store, yet backs up to the national forest. The front yard is perfect for memorable times with a fire pit and horse shoe pit, all to enjoy the cool pine air and relax.
We chose this cabin due to its truly unique setting. Over 90% of cabins in the Pine/Strawberry area do not back to the national forest and are extremely close to other cabins. Fortunately, our cabin is rare and is against the national forest. With no homes behind or in front, it's a truly amazing place to enjoy. My family and kids love being able to hike behind the cabin and enjoy the massive pines and hiking trails. Elk are common and frequently visit the backside of our property.

This house is perfect for family and friends stay. Location is secluded in friendly neighborhood but very close to town. Large wraparound deck for outdoor dining, grill works well. We saw several deer and elk on property and throughout the area. House is updated and comfortable.

We wanted a relaxing place to enjoy the outdoors from the hot temperatures of the valley. We loved being able to sit outdoors from drinking coffee in the morning to grilling out for dinner. Even our dog enjoyed staying out on the deck.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin!

It was a perfect cabin in a great secluded area. The moose were great and even showed there presence in the morning with scattered leaves all over the patio steps. The owner, Reed, was very kind and responsive.

This cabin is spacious and modern. It looks even better than the pictures! Very clean and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen, large outdoor deck and firepit with log stump seating. Close to everything and backs up to forest with close hiking trail. We saw many elks/deer. Perfect getaway from the valley heat. Totally recommended.

We only had a two night stay, but we had a great experience. The neighborhood was quiet, provided great walks for the dogs, and we saw elk each evening! We didn’t sleep in the primary bedroom, as the stairs to that room were awkward for the dogs to navigate, but the second bedroom off the kitchen was comfortable. The deck was phenomenal. So much space for the dogs to play and sun bathe while we relaxed in nature.

We had an amazing Easter weekend at the house and were blessed with a spring snowfall! The house was perfect, with comfy beds, a great kids room and everything we might have needed in the kitchen. The house is close to town, yet backs up to the national forest and feels completely private and remote. Great for exploring and a campfire with smores!

We loved the location of this cabin and how close it was to the trailhead. They are the first people to let us know how to get to the trailhead with the "house book". The house was super clean with a great deck to hang out on. We even had access to the garage with a washer and dryer. Really enjoyed our stay and would rent this property again.

Great little place tucked in the Pines. Really liked that. It was backed up to the national Forest even though there were snow, we still took a hike up the mountain. Perfect for a small family. We would definitely stay again.

Would definitely rent the house again!

We had a nice time at this property. Its location can't be beat, close to town but backing up to a huge forest. We will return.

We absolutely love this cabin! We have stayed in several cabins in Pine/Strawberry and this is one of the best. This is one of the few cabins that backs up to the national forest! Our kids loved playing in the front yard and behind the cabin in the forest. Quiet and secluded area. The cabin has plenty of room to hold 8 people comfortably. The deck is large and perfect for relaxing and spending time with family. We loved having the firepit on the deck. Everything inside is new and modern. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to cook. High speed internet was perfect along with a large flat screen TV, Netflix. Comfortable beds. Everything was neat and clean. Our kids had a blast and didn't want to leave. We even saw some elk. We will definitely be coming back, this place is awesome!

This property is top-notch! I'm not sure if the owners were ever in the hospitality industry, but if not, they should have been!
The owner was sure to communicate all the information needed prior to arrival along with a heads-up to keep an eye out for elk, something my husband was looking forward to. He also checked in on us during our visit, which was really refreshing.
Plenty of parking is available, and the whole cabin appears to have been upgraded. The beds were cozy, and the bathroom linens were super soft... seriously... what detergent do you guys use?! The bathtub in the guest bathroom is large enough to enjoy a relaxing bath if needed (verified).
We loved how large the deck is and that it wraps around the home offering two ways of entry. But our favorite feature of the cabin is the entrance to the national forest at the back of the property. My husband and I walked a few hundred feet into the woods, sat on a tree that had fallen, and watched the elk graze around us. It was a beautiful experience.
The kitchen included everything needed for cooking, the internet was good enough to keep my teenager entertained for two days, and only minutes from Pine's Main Street where you can shop and dine all day! We had the pleasure of visiting Tonto Natural Bridge and the Water Wheel during our stay as well.
Overall, this stay was exactly what we needed and hoped for when booking this getaway.
Huge thank you to Reed and his family for allowing us to stay at their home!

Well we only stayed 3 hours.
Cons
Photos a little misleading. Not Secluded, neighbors on both sides that can look down to property.
Front yard not fenced and very close to road not safe for young children.
Firepit didn't have tree trunk seats like photo.
My 2 yr old could reach & unlock both doors. The front door & side door that lead to patio and she could reach & unlatch both hooks on patio doors to get to forrest & frontyard.
Didn't show photo or say in description about Master bedroom being upstairs in back of house.
Would of been nice to have at least 1 bottled water, even a hotel provides that.
Lots of bees, fly on patio and into house.
Not toddler proof, lots of low, solid pointy furniture.
Pros
Easy to find
Air Conditioner works great
Had spices
Automatic night lights on windy stairs from Master.

Great location!! Property was exactly as pictured, with the addition of a propane fire table on the porch...which was super nice in the cool evenings. We've stayed in MANY Pine rentals and this was one of our favorites. Reed was great to communicate with. Would stay again!

This was such a great place to stay. The photos are accurate. Nice size space. We had a great time. They have a great little fenced in area for the pups. We saw elk on the backside of the property. We will definitely be staying here again!

Everything was exactly as listed and in great condition. The neighborhood was quiet and wildlife was everywhere. Elk roamed the neighborhood and literally in the front yard which are children enjoyed very much. We would look to book this rental again in the future and would recommend to others.

This was our 4th visit to this property within 2 years, so you can see that we like it! We have been visiting the community of Pine for 10 years. We have stayed in many nice places, but when we finally found this one, we knew we had found “The One” – a place that we are happy to visit over and over. It suits all our wants and needs for a perfect stay. We are already planning for our 5th visit.
Whatever your needs, wants or travel style, we’re sure you’ll find this clean and comfortable updated property a pleasant experience. The owner and property manager are great to deal with and quick to respond to any needs.

Wasted time in the porch. Just what we needed to escape the daily rat race.

Rental process easy. Property as advertised. Only issue was cabin needed a "Spring cleaning", cob webs, dust over windows and doors, and very dirty windows with child or dog prints all over. The kitchen and bathrooms very clean just seemed like it was in need of a deep cleaning. Location and layout were excellent.

Wonderful get away.
Everything was great. The only issue we had was when we first checked in the cleaning products used were very strong. We had to air it out and luckily the majority of the smell was gone by the next day.

Third visit
This was our third visit in 2 years and we have already booked our next one. We have found our Happy Place! Everything about it is as close to what we would chose ourselves as we could hope for! Everything is clean and the furniture is comfortable. All the amenities and necessities are placed with guest wants and needs in mind. Both the owner and the property manager are very responsive and easy to work with. It is "turn key" ready for a good experience.

25th Anniversary
This property was exactly what we were looking for. It had big beautiful deck with outside propane fire pit. The house backed up to the forest not a lot of traffic. People walking dogs were friendly. There was elk all over the place driving in driving and out. The house had lots of extras , the owner provided coffee and some sasonings. We even had shampoo and conditioner and body wash will definitely go back.

Perfect weekend getaway.
My husband and I plus our two big dogs had a wonderful weekend. Cabin location is perfect, everything as described. The guest book suggested a trailhead that started just a few houses away. We tried it and highly recommend! We hope to be back soon and would stay again. Thank you Reed.

Cute little home in the woods
We had a great time at Reed’s home! It was clean and beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked (although we didn’t really cook during our stay— vacation means eating out lol) and the beds were surprisingly comfortable! We were so relieved to know we wouldn’t wake up with aching backs. We also brought along our 1 year old and we were happy to see the oscillating fan in the master bedroom. He slept so much better in his travel crib because of the white noise. And so did I. Reed was also friendly to speak to. He offered to help in any way we needed if we should need him. Thankfully we didn’t need him! The only real minor disappointment was that the tv upstairs did not work for our kids and the cleaning person did not clean that room. So they were bored to tears if we weren’t hiking. There was a Gatorade bottle and used toothbrush and starburst wrapper in the drawers. We decided to stay packed in our suitcase up there. But I did feel the home was CLEAN. It was convenient to have the little vacuum cleaner so we could run it when our baby wanted to crawl around on the floor. :) There were also plenty of towels, and we found the bathrooms to have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash ready for guests. That was a nice touch! So was the hand sanitizer at the sinks. Thank you for that. We felt foolish by the end of the trip because we didn’t realize there was a washer and dryer at ALL, as it’s located in the garage. And with 4 kids, we didn’t have the time to plop down and read the welcome binder on the mantle until late at night on our second (last) night there. We would have loved to have been sent that info before traveling there! We also were unable to turn off the water as instructed in the book because the tool to do so was broken. The water was on when we arrived. The best part of the trip was the fire pit and corn hope game out front. My kids played for hole constantly. It was also awesome to have the fire on the porch as well. Super quick to start and kept us warm. Overall, we had a nice little break from the Phoenix heat and liked hiking around the area. I would warn not to hike behind the house though at this time of year, as I did with my children. Only moments after making it back to the porch, a gun shot was fired a mere 50 yards out from where we just were. We watched as the elk ran away from the shot. Whoever it was got one because he was celebrating loudly. We didn’t feel comfortable afterwards, so we headed on home bright and early.
