We really like everything about the Aspen Cabin..Very cozy with great cable..The full kitchen was great to cook things in and it was very clean..Michelle, the housekeeping lady, is so accommodating to anything that we needed..Great stay there..
We wish it had a fireplace, whether it be electric or an electric wood stove to add to the ambiance of being in the Mts..

We liked the proximity to Lake Placid as well as Whiteface Mountain.
Liked all the cooking utensils being available in the kitchen.
Liked the Keurig Coffee
I will start by saying that the owners were really engaged at answering questions and making sure the check in process was smooth. No issues there at all. I appreciated being able to get a hold of someone if the need arose.
It is my understanding that this property has recently changed hands, and the new owners are working at making it a great place,, not withstanding that,, the Aspen cabin is in pretty rough shape. From the moment you walk in its outdated. The most obvious issue right from the start is stepping in at the kitchen and realizing that the floor has been patched and possibly will not hold up. My husband is 6'4,,, he felt at any moment he'll go through the floor. The Aspen cabin has a mould smell which meant we had to run the fans the entire stay.
Because of the lack of ventilation, all kitchen cabinets were sticky to touch. Just not a great feeling when you don't want to touch surfaces you are staying in.
I appreciate the fact that the owners were doing the most with what is there, ( clean bathrooms and towels), but simply put there is a facelift required to make it a comfortable stay. The cabin could have a great potential with fixing and modernizing.

I loved how close it was to the high peaks, how much privacy we had and how willing the host was to accommodate us. It was nice having a fully stocked kitchen as well, even though we were so close to the Hungry Trout, which was well worth the stop!
It smelled like broccoli or something malodorous when we arrived. The smell seemed to improve over time since we kept the windows open.

Nice rustic chalet. it’s very cosy and well furnished. we had a nice family week end. the place is very quiet, beds are confortable.
it’s a shared firepit and bbq, outside chairs are classic plastic chairs not Adirondacks style clairs as seen on photos

The location and quiet
Thought we rented a cabin (Chalet) which turned out to be a single wide trailer. Musky smell towels and linens were musky smelling, only had hot water the first night of our stay of 3 nights, mice droppings through out the trailer, a huge bump in the living room floor that you tripped over, the range hood to stove fell and was hanging and Stained sheets. The location was beautiful. I was disappointed in our rental.

The location and the cabin was clean. Very good supply of towels.
You couldn't regulate the heat so it was terribly hot at not.

The beds and couch were extremely uncomfortable. Patio furniture was dirty.
