Perfect location for a mountain escape, but also close enough to the beaches!

I appreciated the below:
Carter meeting us at the cottage and showing us around.
Providing snacks and bottles of water, K-cups, as well as toiletries such as shampoo etc.
They also had a Brita-type pitcher so that we can filter water.
It was nicely decorated and felt welcoming.
The beds were comfortable.
The chicken coop was a pleasant surprise.
The yard was bigger than I thought it would be.
It was nice that it felt private with a locked gate.
It was very helpful that the owners were next door.
If I were to nitpick and grasping at straws:
The bath towels could be softer.
It would have been nice to have cooking oil.

Great comfortable little cottage with all the amenities and fully stocked kitchen. Wonderful extra touches like coffee pods and condiments and a full water pitcher in the refrigerator made us feel welcome.

Excellent access to Volcano National Park and local restaurants. Gracious hosts made us feel at home. It is a stay-here-again cabin. It's well appointed. The hosts programmed the entry gate and cabin locks with the last 4 digits of our phone number. Genius.

Nice location, Quite and beautiful surrounding. The host is very friendly and polite. Room was clean in most of part. We had a good time in it.
Found couple hairs on the back of pillow when I was putting on our own pillow cover ( because my son has dust mite allergy). This was only one part I feel uncomfortable.

Excellent location to visit volcanoes national park. It was quiet and felt like living like a local. The hosts are genuinely nice people and are very helpful in wanting your stay to be nice.
I didn’t realize it was spring break when I booked my trip, so the price was higher compared to other dates. So what I paid was a bit steep, but during normal times, I think this place offers great value to stay near the park and this side of the island.

great location for going to Volcano Park. the wonderful hosts greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The cabin is well stocked with quality towels and blankets. Plenty of kitchen supplies, coffee, tea, salt and pepper and cold water in the fridge. There were flashlights, a lantern, Sun screen and bug repellent.
The bed was very hard. We would have liked some cooking oil or spray.

The host met us at the property and was kind enough to explain everything and even gave us tips about how best to see the flowing lava at the volcano park!

We were met by the owners when we arrived, and were warmly greeted. The cottage was immaculate, charming, and exactly what we were hoping for. It was perfectly furnished — no detail had been overlooked. We would stay at this place again in a heartbeat!
Nothing. Everything exceeded expectations.

This place is a GEM!! It is like being in your private slice of paradise. The suite is tastefully furnished and has a Zen-like, relaxing atmosphere. You are surrounded by lots of green ferns everywhere you look. The room had every amenity needed to make my stay a pleasant one (lots of blankets, music system, couch, coffee, creamer, sugar, fully furnished kitchen with stovetop, microwave & toaster). Carter & Elaine are awesome hosts and helped me check in after I arrived from Kona. This place is about 5 miles from Volcano National Park and that is a huge plus. You can easily come back to the room for lunch and a nap :) and head back to the park in the evening when the crowds have thinned off and the heat had waned. I used this place as a base camp to explore Pahala, Kaʻū and Naalehu. I also visited Kazumura Cave, which is right down the road from this rental. Do yourself a huge favor and skip tacky, crowded Hilo and stay here, you wont regret it!!
