Property is amazing! Beautiful, clean, everything you could need, steps to the water. Thank you for sharing your home!

This is our third consecutive year with editors view. It is a perfect fit for our family and we consider it our home away from home, as we have become regulars in Folly. The house is clean, safe, well stocked and comfortable. We would love to keep it a secret, but also hope others get to enjoy as well. Thank you Editor's View for another wonderful stay in Folly.
2.0 / 5.0
The house was well stocked, however, we would not stay there again, nor can I recommend it to anyone in it's current condition. It needs a lot of attention and repairs. There are issues that were mentioned in reviews over a year ago that still exist: The master bath shower door needs to be replaced - my wife could not open and close it on her own; the decks and steps present a safety hazard - loose and rotted boards - some boards stick up 3/4" or more and many splinters; there are several nail and screw heads sticking up; the stove exhaust fan does not work. We were there for our daughter's wedding and there were many other families there who rented other homes. Ours was by far in the worst condition and all were at comparable prices. Out of curiosity, we looked at the price for houses for the same week next year and this one is going for almost double of what it was this year! I certainly hope that it is due to the fact that a total renovation is planned. There is no access to the beach from the area underneath the house. There is a beach renourishment project going on, but while we were there, there were several hours during high tides when we had no beach access as it was completely underwater. So, unfortunately, based upon our experience, I cannot recommend this property. Hopefully improvements will be made as it has tons of potential. The screened in porch is great.

This is an older home that has weathered many storms and is in need of some TLC. However, it was comfortable. Private walkway to the beach is excellent. You completely lose the beach right at this spot on the beach for a few hours during high tide. Overall, would consider staying here again but would want to see the rental price come down a bit for the age and condition of the property.

The Editor’s View is a great place to relax your mind with perfect views of the ocean & rolling tide. Early mornings to see the sunrise with coffee from the screened in porch to quiet evening cocktails on the front balcony watching the blueberry tangerine sunsets. In between, cook the perfect gourmet meals in the well stocked kitchen, read a book in the upper loft while overlooking the ocean or take in a movie with the family in the comforts of the living area. Whatever suits your mood, the Editors View is there to please.

Perfect house for our Girl's Trip. Quiet, spacious, and very clean. The screen porch and open deck were perfect for reading a book and watching the sunrise. There is a new Keurig in the house which was a great surprise as it was not included in the listing. The ocean does come up to the rocks and deck steps during high tide (no room to set on the beach) but we just moved to the deck during this time. Will stay here again!

The house was set up perfectly and very well stocked. It fit our family extremely comfortably and I was happy to see there were pack’n’plays and plenty of extra blankets. I’m thankful we had this house during a chilly stay. HOWEVER, it was advertised as “private beach access” and that’s what we paid for as it’s what mattered most to my family even in the cold. (We’re Wisconsinites, we’ll walk the beach no matter the temperature). Upon arrival we discovered the stairs to the beach had been washed away in a storm a few weeks prior. COMPLETELY understandable, had Vacasa notified us ahead of time that we would have no beach access as the rock walls prevent you from walking around the stairs down to the beach and the next TWO closest public access points were also closed. Not only were we not notified that our private beach access (and any beach access under a mile) was eliminated, we weren’t offered compensation or alternative housing to accommodate what we thought we were getting. I will never book our annual Folly beach trips through Vacasa again.

The house was so comfortable and easy to love. The view was just amazing and the house had everything we needed.

The view and access to the ocean was terrific.

Fantastc property located right on the beach. Far enough from downtown beach to enjoy a bit of serenity, but close enough to enjoy in the action.

We found the house to be very clean and functional. The living area is open and spacious with lots of beach decor to put you right into the beach vacation mode. The kitchen is well supplied and the dining room table is large enough to dine at and to work a puzzle at one end. There is plenty of comfortable seating for reading and watching TV, and many lamps to provide light where desired. The loft area is nice for viewing the ocean and reading, but the spiral staircase needs to be navigated carefully. The screened in porch is a real plus and there is also a deck for sunning. The beach disappears at high tide but nice as tide recedes. We enjoyed this Folly Beach home very much.

We enjoyed 4 glorious days in this immaculate beach front home. Easy access to Downtown Charleston by car, this open floor plan house, with a large kitchen and deck with great views of the sunrise and sunset made for a great stay

We had an amazing time, it ended up being very memorable when the biggest non tropical storm on record came through... honestly looking at the houses along the beach we were in the one that took the least amount of damage!! Was terrifying but amazing in the same breath!!

The beach is beautiful.

Everything about our stay was glorious. The house is very comfortable and charming. Kitchen was well stocked with most equipment. I love to cook! :) Previous reviews were spot on regarding the wooden deck and the mattresses, but other than that, this is a wonderful property.
4.0 / 5.0
The view is incomparable, the sofas are comfortable and the wifi works great. But:
Obvious black mold in southern shower door, track, fixture, drain - door sticks
Substantial mold on chaise lounge backs
Clanging ceiling fan
Reported this and was assured they were on it. No one showed up.
Also discovered:
Rusty nails and splintered steps/deck boards
Kitchen cabinets/drawers have not been cleaned in years
Greasy film on many dishes/glasses
Exhaust fan over stovetop doesn't work
Oven temperature is off by about 40º (underheats)
Dishwasher doesn't get dishes clean
Potholders were filthy and unusable
Mattresses are very, very old and sagging
Both showers are really outdated
Several of these issues were mentioned in previous reviews - Vacasa assured us that any items mentioned in a review were addressed by them. The issues were still there. Would not stay in a Vacasa property again. To add insult, their "cleaning" fee is higher than any other property mgmt. company. I ended up cleaning much of the place myself.

We had a Great time ! The house had plenty of room One recommendation I would suggest to viewers if planing a trip is to look ahead for what is called kings tide, we did not have a beach most of the time due to the high tide. It did go down part of the day but it was literally at our porch step. But the moon at night was absolutely beautiful! This house has beautiful high ceilings and very comfortable furniture but could definitely use a bigger tv in master bedroom, tv in guest room and working tv in other guest room . Also the stove could be updated along with coffee maker. .loved the huge screen in porch that was a plus at night time and during the day seeing we had a newborn with us . There was also plenty of blankets in the closets. Thank you for renting your beautiful home .

We loved this little beach house so much! From the beautiful views of the marsh out front, to the breathtaking views of the ocean from the porch. The dishwasher was broken during our stay, but it didn’t hamper the experience. There were lots of beach toys available and the rooms were very nice. Not the best mattresses, but after a day at the beach we all slept soundly. Highly recommend this house and we will be back!

The location is extraordinary ! Right on the beach, beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked, sofas are very comfortable. But the beds are worn in, and the outside deck has rusty nails and broken wood panels. It’s quite dangerous.

Location of as perfect…. Management company failed to give us some information/details that would have been helpful, ie, we had to replenish the toilet paper ( in all the years we’ve used VRBO houses, we’ve NEVER had to replenish toilet paper as there’s always extra rolls. We just thought that was very odd…

The house worked out well for us. The beach access was amazing as were the views.
Just a quick constructive suggestion. The beach chairs were mostly all broken and unusable. The shower door to the main bath hardly functioned. It needs repair.

A great location for our sisters weekend. Clean, comfortable and a perfect location for walking the beach. A great weekend for all of us.

We had a great stay. This home is spacious, with wonderful views of the ocean and abundant outdoor seating options on the porch and deck. The couches and beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen is very well appointed. We had one problem with the master shower bath door; it is difficult to slide, easily comes off track, and allowed significant water onto the floor which we needed to clean up. The deck boards are also significantly decayed with a few spots on the steps that require caution. Overall it’s a great location and a home with great bones in need of some practical and aesthetic updates.

This property is perfect for a great beach vacation!!! Plenty of room for everyone and you cannot get any closer to the beach. Right out the door. We had an amazing time. Thank you

The house was clean and spacious. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of towels provided. The beds and pillows could have been a little more comfortable, but they weren't terrible. The location is perfect. All in all, a great stay.

It’s not often you walk onto a property and it is better than the pictures. I was a little nervous not knowing the area but the house ended up being in the perfect location far enough away from the downtown busyness where it was quiet and beautiful but close enough to get there with just a short drive. The house was super clean, open an area, and you can’t beat the deck watching the sunrise and dolphins over the ocean. The only thing that I think would have made it complete was having beach towels for the guests. Otherwise absolutely wonderful stay and would rent here again.

I loved the low key vibe of this beach house and the island. We will be back for sure.

We did a staycation here with our family. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was huge and perfect for cooking dinner for the whole family. The screened in porch and the outside deck were the best features of the house! This is where most of our time was spent! The loft was beautiful, however, if you have small children who like to climb stairs, bring a baby Gate! We loved it overall and We hope to rent this in the future!

The home is bright and very open. Kitchen is well stocked and the home was clean. We were very pleased there were beach chairs for our use. Very comfortable home and our family loved our time!
Steps from the ocean, in fact, the beach can get quite narrow at high tide. The deck and screened porch are lovely!

We absolutely loved the location of Editor's View along Folly Beach. It was quiet, secluded and the house itself was a perfect size for us four. The house was clean with plenty of fresh white towels, which was great. Our kids were hitting the waves for hours and played in the sand each day we were there. Having a glass of wine on the back porch was perfect in the evenings as well. Thank you for having such a great home to offer! Also, we left some beach toys and a fun 1000 piece puzzle for future guests to enjoy. :)

Great family beach week
Amazing location and beach access. Clean property with great, open layout. Finishes and decorations are dated, but an awesome place to stay with our 3 young kids for spring break.

Folly Beach house
Had the best vacation ever with my two kids. We loved the location of the home on the ocean. Surfed and body surfed every day we were there rain or shine. Walked around downtown Folly Beach and shopped til we dropped on KINGS ST in Charleston. Excellent location!
