Beautiful lake and house. The house was exceptionally clean and well-appointed.

As a family of seven adults, we were incredibly comfortable all week in this lovely lakefront cottage. We had everything we needed for a week of rest and relaxation! The lakefront is lovely complete with kayaks and an awesome floating dock! The screened in porch is where we spent most of our time reading in the swing, playing games at the very large table and hanging out together even when it rained. Beds were comfy, bathrooms were large and well stocked and the kitchen was perfect for making delicious meals! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Granite Cove!!

This was one of the best rental properties we've ever stayed at. Home is fairly new. It's bright, clean, comfortable and in a beautiful, lakefront setting. The hosts put a lot of thought into the design and provided amenities such as firewood for the outdoor fire pit. We swam and kayaked in the crystal clear lake.
If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation in nature, this is the place for you.

This beautiful property was wonderful for a week with family! The house was very clean, very modern, very suitable for everything we needed, and Anita provided absolutely everything we could think of. The views, and the amenities down by the water were wonderful. We felt genuinely comfortable, safe, and very relaxed here. Thank you Anita!

We loved our stay at the lake! The house was wonderful and had everything we needed to make our stay terrific. The location was great. We wanted a location where we could make short day trips to see the sights around Bangor and Acadia NP, while still enjoying days where we could just hang out at the lake. The property was beautiful with all the wildflowers in bloom. It was a perfect vacation spot for our family. We will definitely try to stay again if we make it back out that way in the future.

An oasis from the hustle of life. The house was amazing, and beautiful. Very spacious to allow everyone to have their own space. It was a little to cold for the adults swim and kayak, but we enjoyed watching the kiddos in the pond. Would definitely recommend.

You couldn’t ask for more. Anita and Pat have built and furnished this home beautifully. There are kayaks aplenty to explore the pond and visit the loons who occasionally break the otherwise peaceful setting with their eerie calls and warbling.
Best of all, Anita and Pat are the perfect hosts, ever responsive to any and all needs.
The big screened in porch is perfect for meals. Grilling was easy and firewood available for the kids and their s’mores.
As my granddaughter said about Barbie, it rates a 13 out of 10.

We had a great time at Granite Cove! Kayaking, fishing, and swimming in the pond were enjoyed by all as well as relaxing on the screen porch! Bar Harbor and Acadia are about an hour drive, but well worth it! Our multi-generation family vacation was fully accommodated at this location! Anita was easily accessible and a wonderful host! This is a prime vacation spot for a peaceful getaway!

This home had so much more than we expected! The location is private, quiet and peaceful. Fully equipped kitchen plus lots of unexpected niceties such as - bug spray, clothes line to dry bathing suits and towels, flashlights, fire wood and kindling - just everything you could need. I would definitely recommend this home. I can’t wait to return!

We found this property to be incredibly well cared for and thoughtfully designed. The area around the camp is beautifully landscaped and provides a tranquil place to relax and enjoy nature.
We enjoyed several nearby hikes and paddling on the pond. Eagle Bluff and Peaked Mountain trails provided amazing fall foliage views from the top of the impressive cliffs.
Thanks to our attentive hosts for sharing their beautiful cottage in this special part of Maine. We look forward visiting again soon.

The house was awesome with a wonderful view of the surrounding woods, down the path and to the pond. We kayaked the first weekend, but had some bad weather most of the week. Looking at weather radar, we went to the coast, including Northeast Harbor for the gardens and Southwest Harbor for lobsters. We traveled to Lubec for a whale watching tour with about 15 people. Eagles soared over our heads, seals basked on the islands, we saw East Quoddy Head lighthouse from the water, then visited West Quoddy Head by land. The drive was long, but fun. We found blueberry pies and lobster daily. The weather meant we ate out more than in, but that suited us. Two of our party hiked local trails, and a steep hike from Schoodic Head near Winter Harbor. We enjoyed Fogtown brewery in Ellsworth under a tent sheltered from the rain.
In the home, we sat out on the screen porch, walked to the lake to view the sunrise and had fun reconnecting with each other. Our hosts recommendations were welcomed and used for our daily forays into town. We certainly would have spent more time on kayaks and in the water. We were unable to take advantage of the fire pit and lobster pot because of the weather. Next time…

The house is lovely, the hosts are lovely. We spent five wonderful weeks at Granite Cove. Enjoyed kayaking, swimming, eating meals on the spacious screened-in porch and most especially being visited and serenaded by the local loons!
Anita and Pat were always available and helpful. We are returning!

To small for ‘sleeps10’
Very pretty location. Pond is calm for canoeing and clear. House was very clean. Master bedroom was comfortable. Outdoor fire pit was great! A lot of the seating is firm and upright, (not overly comfortable). 8 of the advertised ‘sleeps 10’ beds were on the lower level with only one bath, no air conditioner and not great air flow. Bath towels stayed damp when hung overnight. Owners were very responsive when asked for a fan. But, overall the house was too small for our party of 8 adults. Looks bigger in pictures.

Great getaway
Fantastic, peaceful location and the owners living next door was an added bonus! They were very helpful. The layout was good with a bedroom for each adult couple and the bunk room by two of the bedrooms. The screened in porch was awesome! Highly recommend

Serenaded by loons
Comfortable, well-stocked home on lovely, quiet lake. Great kayaking, accompanied by the sound of loons fishing in the shallows right off the property. Swimming hiking… everything we needed for an enjoyable, relaxing stay.

3 generations of fun
We spent most of our time outside, either on the fabulous screened-in porch, down by the lake, or on adventures to Acadia National Park or surrounding areas. The area offers fun for the whole family, from grandparents to toddlers. The house was well equipped and the hosts had lots of great recommendations.

Even more amazing than the listing!
Our stay at granite cove was perfect! We celebrated my moms 75th birthday here. I’ve stayed in many rentals and this one truly was perfect. It was immaculate! It had all the amenities needed. It was spacious and beautiful. It had extra fluffy pillows and bedding. The kitchen had all the tools you need! Firewood and kindling were provided. Anita was lovely and helpful, and came by to greet us with Gus the first day. We enjoyed the pond front, fire pit, canoes, and especially the screened in porch. It was obvious that the owners truly care about the renters having a great time. We hope to come back soon! We highly recommend this property!

Lovely lake stay
My three kids (7, 12, 15) and I spent a week at this lovely property a few weeks ago. The house was beautiful and very well done with pretty much everything you could need. Although it ended up just being four of us, it easily could have held several more people! The screened porch was wonderful for meals and I think we ate every meal out there. The lake is beautiful and we quite literally did not see or hear anyone else for the first few days. It was as if we had our own private lake. The kayaks were great and my teens enjoyed taking them out. We would sit down at the water's edge for hours with the kids playing, kayaking, swimming, reading. Very nice. The only sounds were loons and other wildlife except for the last few days when we heard maybe one other family (but never saw them!). I will admit, it was a little more rural than I thought it would be, but overall an extremely peaceful getaway before the craziness of school began again.
A few things to keep in mind:
-If you want to go to Cadillac mountain you will need to have a printed permit. Print it at home before you come or you will have to go to Ellsworth about 30 mins away to get one. Easy process but a little bit of a drive.
-There is no air conditioning but there are ceiling fans. Easy to bring some fans with you to help.
-If you have kids with you the only tv is in the bunk room and there is no cable (but there is Netflix etc). So once the kids go to bed in the bunks, there isn't access to the tv.

So peaceful
We loved our stay at Granit Cove. Very private location and quiet pond. Very little boat traffic. We loved swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The loons came right up in the cove. The house is brand new and very comfortable. We loved the screened in porch for board games and the the fire pit in the evenings. My boys loved having their own space downstairs with the TV and the bunkbeds. Thanks to Anita and Pat for a great week!!!!

Fantastic Lake House and Close to Everything!
We had a fantastic time at Granite Cove. The property is newly built, very clean (and has all the essentials needed to cook (even the chef’s knives are sharp!), enjoy Hopkins Pond and explore Maine. We enjoyed the quiet, secluded property, kayaked daily, sun bathed on the floating pier, roasted s’mores around the fire pit and our little one loved the under house swing. The view from the water’s edge is just gorgeous. It’s also a great location; a close drive to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor for seal and lobster tours, Ft. Knox and Observatory and local hiking- Mariaville Falls (easy walk to waterfalls) and a steep hike up Chick Hill. We would highly recommend! Our girls age 6 and 12 loved every minute of our week there.
