Acadia National Park: Acadia National Park: In 1913, President Woodrow Wilson set aside 6000 acres (within what is now Acadia National Park) as Sieur de Monts National Monument. With the acquisition of more land and private support and funding, in 1919 President Wilson signed an act establishing Lafayette National Park. In 1929 the parks name was changed to Acadia. Acadia National Park was established to protect the area's spectacular scenic values, Maine's rock bound coast, its coastal and its offshore islands as characterized by the geologic features, natural history and the native plant and animal life. Forty five miles of rustic carriage roads weave around the mountains and through the valleys of Acadia National Park, the gift of philanthropist John D Rockefeller, Jr., and family. Rockefeller, a skilled horseman, desired to travel on motor free byways via horse and carriage into the heart of Mount Desert Island. His efforts resulted in roads with sweeping vistas and close up views of the landscape.
Cadalic Mountain: Cadillac Mountain: At 1,530 feet, Cadillac Mountain is not only the tallest mountain in Acadia National Park, but also the tallest mountain along the eastern coast of the United States. Explore the summit of this granite mountain along a .3-mile trail, which includes wayside exhibits about natural and human history. Portions of this trail are accessible to wheelchair users. Cadillac Mountain is accessible via a winding, narrow, 3.5-mile road. The road is closed from December 1 through April 14 and whenever weather conditions (e.g., dense fog or ice) require.

This is the third time I’ve stayed at one of Josh’s properties and every time it has been stress-free. Josh is very responsive as well if something does go a little sideways. I rented one of his fishing boats this year and when we accidentally hit some rocks, he had someone replace the prop that evening You just can’t go wrong renting from Josh. .

We were very happy overall with the stay- the house was immaculate, well stocked, and better than the pictures. Location is perfect and host very accommodating and responsive. Second time we have booked with Josh and highly recommend!

We traveled up to Maine for my daughter’s graduation from UMO. Spent the weekend on Chemo Pond in a beautiful cottage with an amazing view! Communication with the owner was simple, the cottage was very clean and well stocked with most essentials, the location was easy to get to and it was so nice and quiet. We had a fabulous weekend celebrating my daughter. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! We hope to be back during warmer weather so that we can enjoy the lake!

Cozy cabin by the lake. Gorgeous views. Summer should be super fun with all the lake activities available.

Wonderful property! Well stocked with most everything needed. Loved the canoe & kayak and enjoyed evening campfires with plenty of firewood. Expectations of guests were clear and reasonable. Would highly recommend!!

i had 3 days on lake to myself. heavenlyThen grandkids and my son and brother came for a wedding 10 minutes away. We had a blast and it was so much better than a hotel. it was the first time in years that we got together and had such quality time together. thank you so much.

We loved our time at Chemo Pond and our dog did too! Although the weather was not cooperating, it was very relaxing and the kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the firepit. The owner was very responsive to address issues with the lawn furniture after the storm. Overall, we all had a great time.

This is our third time staying in one of this owner’s properties, and the first time renting this house. Chemo pond is a lovely area. Peaceful, great area to swim and kayak/canoe. The road that the house is on is quiet and peaceful. The house was clean and very nicely furnished with comfortable mattresses. There are two bedrooms in the walk out basement and one bedroom upstairs in a loft. The first floor has a kitchen, dining area, half bath with laundry facilities and a living room. We brought our dog which was great. Note that there are a few friendly but unrestrained dogs on the road, and quite a few dogs inside invisible fences. This was fine with our dog, but leash reactive dogs might have difficulty walking on the road here.
The house has a private dock, with kayaks and canoes available. There is a fire pit and chairs to enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. Overall a great experience.

There were a lot of great perks staying at this lake house these include: a quiet road, nice grass yard, great views, air conditioning on each level, and a great pond to swim and boat in. We really loved this place and intend on coming back. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay again this year! We spent a lot of time out on the water. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. Although, we were missing a kayak paddle but we made do. Love having the fire pit area and the fact that wood is included. Definitely a plus when you don’t have to bring your own wood. There are several games and books to play with for the rainy days. Pool noodles and toys in the shed. This place really has everything. There is even a clip on high chair, which, had I known, I wouldn’t have brought ours! Nothing lacking in the kitchen, we’re always able to find what we need to cook. There was a day in the week (I think Wednesday, around noon?) the water shuts off. I was washing the dishes after lunch, then lost the water. We went down to the basement to check it out and it must be the water softener. It didn’t take long before it came back, just a tad annoying when it happened in the middle of the day. My only “complaint” with cleanliness is there were quite a few cobwebs, with big spiders, and I am not a spider person, so that’s a no go for me. Otherwise, the place is always pretty clean, clean bedding and I love that there is laundry on site! Already looking forward to booking again next year!!

We had a wonderful time at the cottage. We also rented a boat, which was a lot of fun!!! The AC units on all 3 floors made it very comfortable to sleep at night. The water is nice and clear and perfect for swimming. The owners provided a welcome basket when we arrived with everything needed for s’mores, which was a great touch! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!!!

If you’re looking for a camp on the water, this one is for you! Lake is right in front of you. You can’t see land while sitting on the living room. Very comfortable. We stayed over a thanksgiving weekend and was able to have fire pits outside all weekend. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay at Victoria cottage. Stunning pond views, beautiful fall foliage, fantastic, cozy, clean cottage that had us instantly falling into relaxing mode. Lovely and peaceful location, easy to find and very safe. The cabin is about a mile from a main road which allows for easy trips to nearby Ellsworth for shopping, antiquing and a fantastic brewery (Fogtown). We plan on visiting the area again and would definitely plan on staying here again!

This was a very nice property and we loved the privacy of the cabin. Only an hour from Acadia National Park and close to any stores you may need. It was a peaceful property! Decorated nice also!

We were only there for a few days, but wish we couldve stayed longer. It really felt like a home away from home. It was comfortable, clean, safe neighborhood. The property manager was available for questions. Would recommend this place to any of my family.

Overall we enjoyed ourselves at this camp. The week we were there we had decent weather and the pond was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The camp was decently stocked with the exception of extra paper towels. Kids enjoyed making s’mores with the supplies provided.
Though we had a good vacation with our family, the description was deceiving as it stated it slept 10 and included a pullout sofa, but when we arrived there was only sleeping accommodations for 8. One couple who was supposed to take the advertised pullout sofa had to go out to buy an air mattress to sleep on the floor. They ended up leaving earlier than planned due to this. I had even inquired before booking if it was ok for us to exceed the “sleeps 10” limit by 1 since we had an additional small child who could share a bed with his sibling and received a response that it was no problem so it was known that we were coming with that many people. We were able to manage, but want to mention in case the listing isn’t updated so others are aware. We probably wouldn’t have booked the property if it only slept 8. Apparently, on the hosts side, it does say max 8 and nothing about a pullout sofa.
Also, the grill did not work the whole time we were there. We didn’t mention it to the host since we didn’t really need it and was able to just use the kitchen. Again, just noting as an FYI.
The camp is quaint and rustic yet clean with plenty of seating and space should your party of EIGHT get stuck inside on a rainy day. While we did bring a bunch of our own watercraft, the property included a number of kayaks, canoe, and paddle boards all with paddles and life jackets. We were also able to thoroughly enjoy evening fires at the fire pit with the supplied firewood.
Despite the pretty major snafu with the sleeping arrangements and lack of a grill we definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing “Maine Camp” vacation.

We had an amazing time in Maine. This property is delightful. It is in a beautiful location in a quiet area with an awesome selection of outdoor equipment for the lake. The sunsets were amazing and we had a great time fishing.
The cabin in located about an hour away from Acadia and it is a nice drive-some cool places to stop along the way.
The lake is great and my kids (5-11) had a blast here. The bunk beds were a huge hit and it is designed (the cabin) to have a lot of family fun.
The cabin is really comfortable and very thoughtfully decorated. It is a great place to stay and relax. I highly recommend it!
Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

I stayed here in the last week of August with my girlfriend and her family. We rented a pontoon boat from the owner, which greatly added to the experience. Location was easy to get to, and the cabin had lots of little touches that made our week super relaxing! Fishing on the pond was pretty good, and lots of other attractions like bar harbor, Portland, and acadia national park are a reasonable distance away. Would definitely book again

We loved our stay
We just loved the house and the lake. Our lab was in heaven while in the lake. It was a challenge keeping him out of it. The girls enjoyed it to. Overall we had a great time during our stay. Even the hurricane/tropical storms that follow us whenever we are traveling didn't impact us too harshly.

We had a great time at the Camp! The house was clean and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The water was crystal clear and deep for fishing or just jumping off the dock. We enjoyed the fire pit. The Tiki Hut in the middle of the lake was fabulous - we all grabbed a kayak and canoe (and a beverage) and headed over! We enjoyed a hike and biked at Bangor City Forest. Took a day trip o Acadia for 27 mile loop. There are lots of restaurants in downtown Bangor to enjoy within 20+ min. The large kitchen table was perfect for our party of 7. The best part was being able to bring our 13 year old dog!
