About this house rental
Fabulous 4star house ( with adjoining and 1bedroomed Annex that is also listed and bookable separately) in quiet scenic seaside location with great beaches and wonderful views of the sea and mountains, yet just 40 minutes to Knock airport and 2.5 hours drive to Dublin airport. The location is particularly suited to familites or to Golf or Surfing enthusiasts who want a central base to sample what Ireland North West has to offer. A major attraction is the very popular Beach Bar, an authentic old world pub/restaurant which is only 5 minutes walk from the house.

What an outstanding home! Definitely a high point of our trip! Spacious and well-appointed with every possible convenience. There is a stunning view from every window in the house from the sheep in the yard to the sea views. We all highly recommend this property.

We ( two families with 2 children under 6 each) stayed here for a long weekend. We loved the proximity to the beach, to the view as well as cows and sheep, and access to the beach bar which was excellent.
The house though plenty large enough for us, was very open, which meant sounds travelled ( babies crying either early in the morning or late at night).
It was cozy and had all that we needed.
Host was so lovely and helpful, easy to reach if we needed anything.

We had a hugely enjoyable three night stay over New Year - family of six adults and two children. House was spacious, warm and very comfortable.
Location is further from the magnificent Beach Bar than indicated on the site - about a 10-min walk or the same drive - but not really a problem especially not on good weather - but otherwise a splendid, quiet and remote haven. Food and drinks in Beach Bar are superb - and they also do takeaways. Only slight negative about the house is that what is billed as a twin-room for one of the bedrooms is really a single. However, we all said that we would definitely return- which I hope says it all.

Lovely stay, close to beach and pub with food, very comfortable, enjoyed the dinning room for dinner once the tinies were in bed, plenty of space and lovely walks, plenty of parking and perfect for our family group. Loved the play pen for 2 x 8 month olds! Downstairs room was perfect for Grandad! Great views. Sheep next door! Highly recommend this house.

Blessed to find this property in such a picturesque, quiet spot. Super handy for beach days and watching the evening sunset just 5 minutes walk. And just a few minutes further was the beach bar that had gorgeous food. A very happy family holiday.

Our family of 7 adults had a fantastic holiday in Aughris house. Spacious house with pet allowed. Well equipped kitchen with tea coffee and milk plus herbs and spices provided by Sheila.
Location of house is spectacular - right on beach and short walk to the beach bar which was very welcoming though should be noted dogs are not allowed inside. Beautiful house in a fabulous location.

This was a great house for a family of six to spread out and relax and enjoy. The kitchen was well equipped. We loved waking up at in the beautiful countryside and hearing the cows and sheep and then to be walking distance to the beach was just wonderful. We caught up on laundry while we were there and we were fortunate that the weather was good and we can use the clothesline.

Recently spent a week in The Beach House and loved it. Great house in a beautiful place and only a short walk to a fantastic beach. This was especially useful as we had our dog with us and he virtually had the beach to himself. Would recommend.

Great house in excellent location
We had a lovely time here. The house was perfect for us. It is nicely decorated, with a cosy family room (with it's open fire) and dining tables inside and out.
The cottage is just a short stroll from a very pretty and unspoilt beach. The Beach Bar is really welcoming and serves great food.
We can't wait to come back!

Lots of room with a view!
This is a beauty of a house and the owner is so sweet and helpful. A short walk to the beach, and close enough to Sligo to go out for dinner. Our visit was a little chilly, and it took some time to figure out how to light a coal fire, but we did well!

Lovely and spacious house in a idyllic rural setting
We had a lovely week at The Beach House. It was well-equipped, clean, and very comfortable. The beach, and the fantastic Beach Bar, were just a 5-minute stroll away. We enjoyed the view of the cows and sheep behind the house and were delighted to be able to witness the first wobbly steps of a newborn calf. There were a couple of issues with a tempermental shower and a bathroom light that didn’t work, but we brought them to Sheila’s attention and they will undoubtedly be addressed. Overall, it is a great property.

Nice house and location
After booking this property in January, the owner Shelia was very helpful in any queries I had. Upon arrival I had informed Shelia when we intended to arrive but unfortunately this needed to be pushed back by an hour and a half as Shelia hadn't been to the property to leave the key. Luckily we had planned a stop in Enniskillen for food etc and the delay didn't affect us. When we arrived we were greeted with a lovely open fire and a large open living/ dining room. The rooms were good in size and the three toilets (one ensuite, one cloakroom and one bathroom) were appreciated. In the downstairs cloakroom the taps were not tightened correctly and only one worked, but it was manageable. The first night we went for dinner in the Beach bar which was a 5 minute walk from the house. Lovely views en route over the beach and sea. The food was good and the service was excellent. On our way back from the pub I got a text from Shelia to inform me that a couple were going to be staying in the apartment which is attached to the house. I was slightly taken aback that I wasnt informed of this before hand as I may have altered my choice in where I stayed. On reflection we didnt even know they were there. We didn't hear them at all. If I had been informed earlier I would have liked to have my dog left indoors as the couple, who arrived while we were at dinner, had a dog too.
The house was clean in places but could have done with a bit more as there were large cobwebs in the skylights and mice droppings (and traps) above the kitchen cupboards.
Overall the house had everything we needed, a nice pub nearby and lovely walks.
Many thanks Shelia.

Beautiful seaside home!
This lovely home served as a wonderful base as we explored the area in and around Sligo. Great beaches, pastoral setting and an authentic pub within walking distance made this home a real treat.
The owner, Sheila, was a real joy to work with and i hope to make it back to her home again for another stay.

Wonderful property located off the water...comfortable 4 BR in excellent condition
We arrived at Aughris Head, Co. Sligo, 4 senior golfers each desiring a comfortable bedroom, and were surprised to fine such nice accommodations, including two 1/2 baths, one bedroom downstairs and 3 up, one with ensuite bath. Living room had very comfortable leather couch and chairs which all reclined. Nice large dining area and large kitchen with dining. We didn't mind at all that there was no sea view, as it was close, within 3 blocks of the beach nestled into farm land. We enjoyed the livestock as well.
This is a great place to stay for 4 golfers, centrally located among 5 fine links golf courses, Carne, Enniscrone, Strandhill, Co. Sligo, and Donegal G.C. And nearby is the inimitable Beach Bar, serving from 1 to 8 pm, singing sometimes in the bar....and you gotta love the friendliness of the Irish. They're the best!
Very good price for the fine accommodations, with fuel costs extra at end of the stay, about 93 Euros for a week. From N59, take 6206, then take the turn west to the Beach House sign, then North on the narrow road, about a mile, to the Beach House. Thanks, Sheila!!
