About this cottage rental
Enjoy your vacation at The Trottage on Seneca Lake! This new resort-style cabin is perfect for all ages, with minimal stairs, a level yard, and easy access into the lake from the concrete ramp! With parking for 3 cars just across the driveway, it is less than 20 feet to reach the cabin. A covered porch sits at the top of the stairs overlooking the lake and is well appointed with wicker patio furniture. Just inside the entry door is an open great room, with vaulted ceilings, knotty pine interior walls, and a row of windows facing the lake. The small kitchen features new appliances and is equipped for preparing basic indoor meals. A dining table with seating for four looks out over the water, and a full bathroom with small shower is just off the kitchen. The bedroom with a double bed sits facing the lake and has direct access to the full bath. The bunk bedroom is located on the north end of the cabin and features 4 single beds with two TVs that flip down above the lower bunk beds. The lakefront features multiple dock sections for mooring your boat or fishing. A concrete ramp on the north side of the property leads right into the water - no need for a swim ladder to get in and out. Two kayaks are provided for guests' enjoyment and are easily launched from the ramp. The level lawn is perfect for outdoor games like croquet or bocce ball. And for your soaking pleasure after a long day of winery visits, a brand new 5 person hot tub off the deck awaits you! Located just 4 miles from Dundee, The Trottage is convenient to grocery shopping, gas stations, restaurants, and excellent wineries, such as Glenora Wine Cellers, Herman J. Wiemer Vineyards, and Starkey's Lookout! A short trip northeast will bring you to the Windmill Farm and Craft Market, open every Saturday and a favorite shopping destinations for area tourists.

Good location for visiting Seneca wineries and Watkins Glen Park.Really enjoyed the porch and large deck. Fantastic views of Seneca lake.

The view is amazing but I cannot stress how small the bed is and the shower is dangerously small and we found dirty . Just so you know I am 5 foot tall. It needs major updates and the bed sheets thankfully we brought our own. The bunk beds are extremely small and all of the lighting is just old. The deck is beautiful and the hot tub is nice but they really should lower their nightly rate and watch out for “ host fees”.

Nice location with awesome views!

It was very nice but,the be was too high. I could not get in. When i finally threw myself up, the topper was so soft i could not move. I flopped around like a fish trying to get on my side. I finally had to get off. Went to couch. Too short, narrow and hard to sleep. I got 1 hour. I tried the bunkbed. Hard to get in, ladder in my way. So we packed and left first think in morning. Cant be in a cottage with no sleeping areas.

Nice little place great for what we wanted to do. Last night had dog running all over property from neighbors but they were all friendly. Overall good trip.

We stayed here for a girls trip. There were 4 of us (all early 30s). The cottage is very small, but you can't beat the location. It sits about 30 feet back from the lake. The hot tub on the back deck is amazing. The cottage came well stocked with all the necessities. Lots of blankets which made sitting on the deck in November nice and cozy. Would stay here again!

Our stay was perfect. The location was perfect for visiting wineries in the area. Plenty of space in the cabin. Hot tub was nice. The lake view was perfect. Couldn’t be closer to the water.

Very clean place right on Lake Seneca for a fall get away. The outside was perfect with a fire pit, hot tub and beautiful flowers everywhere. We spent a lot of time on the porch. Inside was very clean and tidy but like other reviews stated, very tight quarters. It was just two of us so we managed ok. The bed is VERY SMALL especially for those that are used to a king size bed. We used the second bedroom (with the bunkbeds) to store our gear and luggage. All in all, the location was perfect for all the activities we wanted to do.

Just an fyi the toilet chain on the flapper broke.

Superb kitchen, Beautiful plants/flowers. Great porch (spent most of our time on it. Wonderful views and lots of entertainment on the lake. The dining table useless, otherwise all the furniture worked. AC was a surprise in its effectiveness. All in all no complaints. We hope to come back. We gave a concert in Lodi on the 6th and chose this as better than a motel room. No comparison, wonderful to return to after a hot day of practice. Thanks.

Lovely Cottage right on the lake. Very Cozy. Quiet and peaceful area. The sound of the lake adds a nice ambiance. The owner has added a lot of nice touches to feel like you're at home away from home.

Our first time rental of this cozy little pet-friendly cottage on a level lakefront lot. My wife & I wanted to try out a Seneca Lake rental and took our chances with a late-October booking. Weather turned out to be beautiful if a bit chilly in the evenings and early mornings. The electric fireplace in the center of the cottage kept us plenty warm. It’s a tiny place but that was just fine for us two retired folks. It seems well built and is very nicely decorated inside with all the needed amenities, along with great out outdoor features — from the lakeside bench swing to the large porch and hot tub. I (Ed) even braved a short trip out on one of the kayaks! The loop around the access road made for scenic 20-minute walks with our dog. We enjoyed our time there in the quiet off-season.

The property was perfect for our family. Boat dock was a plus, and centrally located to the wineries. Would definitely stay again.

The house had everything we needed. Great yard next to the lake. Loved the hot tub.

Everything was great, except there should be better foot gripping coming out of the hot tub to the porch flooring, one of our friends slipped when he got to the deck and fell. He's ok but could have been worse. Other than that our stay was awesome. Thank you!!

The cottage was as described. Clean, cozy and nicely decorated.Location was great and very quiet. Views of the lake were amazing. We spent more time on the covered porch than we did in the cottage.

All went well. Great location and views. Hot tub could have been cleaner. Had to clean bottom debris out ourselves. Almost didn't want to use it.

Right on the water, well stocked kitchen
Loved the location, right on the water, yet close to town. Kitchen was fully stocked, beds were comfortable. Loved the fire pit on the colder nights and the bench swing at the waters edge during the day. Dock had a lower walkway, which made it easy to get in and out of the Kayaks that were provided. We drove to the various water falls within a half hour drive, but our favorite stop was the Watkins Glen Gorge. The Gorge is a must see, BEAUTIFUL!!!

Girls weekend
This cabin was absolutely perfect for a girls weekend. It was right on the lake and having the kayaks and paddle board were an added bonus. Will be back with my family.
The cleanliness of the cabin was outstanding.

The view from this property’s covered deck is unparalleled! The cottage itself is small but adequate for our needs. I think the only time we actually spent inside was to sleep! We ate all our meals outside and pretty much spent every waking minute out there. Great find!
