It’s location. You can go every by foot.
The room was too small. They didn’t change our bath towels in the four days we stayed. The bathroom didn’t have a door that you could close for intimacy. They didn’t have small towels for your hands only big towels. The light over the sink was broken. The sink stopper was broken. The tap of the water on the sink was broken also, even though water cold and hot came out of it. No glasses in the bathroom. Very deficient cleaning. They didn’t make the beds and the day they did it was worse than my teenagers daughters. I had to make them myself. It’s the first time that I have to make my own bad and my husband in a hotel.

Location
We arrived on a wet afternoon with no way of entering. Locals and guests tried to help, talked to the bistro owner next door, rang the number etc. Ended up booking into another hotel. Received an email from Le Matisse Pau Centre saying they refused the reservation with an accompanying bill for €60.

It is in the centre of Pau and clean and well priced

Great location, clean sheets, and very good breakfast

I had no toilet seat at all - I told them each day I was there, and it wasn’t provided/fixed before I left...
The breakfast was also VERY basic and not good for people who can’t eat gluten/wheat as there’s no options except a fruit...

The hotel room was more like a student accommodation. the use of Matisse is slightly misleading. the location was great except the very raucous bar just a few meters away from our hotel. the key codes etc worked well, but the noise from the road was not acceptable. the air condition didnt work. however we tried. so we had to have the windows open. more helpful would have been mosquito deterrents. other guests who were arriving late were very inconsiderate.
in a way this sort of low key hotel could wokr brilliantly. but that there is no staff from Saturday afternon til Monday mornings is really off putting.

Great space; friendly staff, big clean white comfy bed. A little unorganized as the staff didn't read my email about staying a second night; didn't personalize an email to reassure me that my stay was confirmed. Sent me 5 identical emails but didn't send the access code until 3 hours before checkin- which - if I hadn't had wifi data I would not have been able to checkin as reception closes early.

The property is in an excellent location for the town of Pau, being only a ten minute walk from Beaumont Park and very handy for the central area of the town.
The rooms are very small, but they were clean and well equipped.
2.0
Good central location.
Amenities were spare. Some door hinges were loose. There was something broken in the shower (perhaps a glass or plastic soap dish) and extremely sharp edges were protruding. It could have caused a terrible injury. The breakfast was just mediocre.

Location
Breakfast is very poor. Croissant are from previous days. No glasses to drink the juice,
4.0
The location
The building was unappealing with very narrow hallways and a tiny elevator.

Position close to the city center; clean
No one asked for our green pass; the rooms are not soundproofed and we had to ear literally everything (even phone calls, phone vibration or cough!) from the next room… all night long!!
