I liked the views and the bedroom
I did not like that the restrooms are not wheelchair accessible, no shower chair. Hotel needs to provide accommodation for people with disabilities also the way to the restroom is not accessible

We loved the location.
They tried to give us an ugly room, unlike the ones they advertise online. Upon entering the ugly room, my teenage daughter used the bathroom and almost got bitten by a big scorpion that was hidden in the toilet paper. When we complained to the receptionist about our unhappiness, she was not understanding or helpful at all. We were transferred to a small room that night and spent half of the following day arguing with two rude receptionists and waiting for a solution, and our stay was only two nights. After speaking with the manager, who was very understanding, we got a really nice room. We left Roatan broken-hearted because we feel like foreigners get preferential treatment. To be discriminated in our own country is very sad.

The breakfast options were wonderful, as was the staff. We got to know each of them. The location is away from the crowds of West Bay Beach, and was beautiful and much more peaceful than down the way. The security guards and locals brought us fruits, just because! They were all so wonderful. The dock area was our favorite, and we snorkeled there most days. We woke up often to Macaws flying over, and truly enjoyed our stay.
Drinks are more expensive than most places nearby, though our bartenders made the price worth it 😊 The building was under construction, which was unexpected, so it was noisy most of the time. The beds were rather hard and uncomfortable, including springs poking up on some of them. The kitchenware in our room was very scratched and old, which made cooking difficult. Ants!! Be sure to keep all food in the fridge! We had a large group staying in Delfin tower, and made the one shower work, but we needed more places to hang towels to dry. Very few hooks.

Good location. The hotel doesn't have a beach attached to it, however it would have been good to be supplied with portable chairs and beach towels, if these were available, we weren't made aware. The hotel decor seems to stay true to the garifuna culture, it was quirky an distinctive. The receptionists always tried to help.
Main issue: wildlife. We know and fully enjoy the idea of sleeping somewhere tropical, however the rooms all seem to have massive gaps to allow anything to crawl into your room. On our 3rd night, I woke up to a huge cockroach crawling on my leg at 1 am. My wife and I literally jumped ou the bed screaming. The security guard was the only staff member on site at the time and he was more worried about me returning the bug spray than what had just happened to us.
We raised this problem to the receptionist who was apologetic, but started off by saying she couldn't promise anything, the idea of compensation for the ordeal was not even broached. We got switched to an equal room on the other side of the hotel, but it had many of the same issues. We didn't sleep comfortably for our whole stay after that incident. I sprayed the room with bug spray each night and would find dead cockroaches each morning. I don't want to think about what happened before I was woken up.
Other issues:
- the breakfast had no gluten free options save for 1. When we asked the waitresses if we could replace the flour tortilla in the rest of the dishes with a corn tortilla (we knew they served these in the hotel), they just said no, and didn't give a reason.
- while on the subject of staff, most waiting staff seemed to have an attitude the second you ask for something, even if it's something you should be entitled to. We would repeatedly have to ask for the same thing to receive it, and our requests would normally be met with a stare-down and a huff.
- the bathrooms just felt inadequate, too many nooks to keep clean and too much rust. The toilet in our first room (tropical) was too small for a very average sized person to use, i.e. choose your number.

Suite Rooms are nice, spacious and have good beds.
Water is terrible. Not good for human use, can't shower properly. Staff was less than friendly.

Older property, but beautiful. Nice free breakfast, great location. Enjoyed a relaxing stay.
Room, especially bathroom, showed it’s age.

The room was nice. The housekeeping was excellent. The view from the balcony was good.
The stairs were dangerous, no hand railing on either set from the upper floor.
The food choices were subpar.

The location is great and the rooms are spacious.
The pool water wasn't circulating and I felt like it was really cloudy. Some staff were really friendly and others didn't give a damn and it showed.

The location of this hotel was excellent. It's located right at the end of the West Bay Beach, so it is a very very short walk to the beach and everything that it has to offer while avoiding being right on top of the crazy busy beach. It's a nice walk up to West End if you're up for an adventure. I also really enjoyed the size of the place. There's only a handful of rooms, so it doesn't feel like those mega cookie cutter resorts. The food and drink were also really good here as well as the staff at the restaurant/bar. I would much rather be at this beautiful boutique hotel away from the busy crowds than right on the beach.
We were overcharged for our stay, and the shuttle left without us at the airport were our two biggest complaints, and the hotel didn't communicate well with us while trying to work out these issues. In the end we worked them out, but it added unnecessary stress to the start of our vacation. We had been overcharged about $200 for our room and they never gave an explanation for why. They wouldn't refund the amount to our credit card but said we could use it as a credit for things like food and drinks while we were there. Luckily, we enjoyed the food and drinks there otherwise it would have been more annoying. The other issue was the shuttle left without us at the airport, it took a while for us to get through customs so I'm not sure if they just thought we weren't coming. Once we got through though someone told us they had seen the shuttle already leave. We tried to get in contact with the property, but no one answered. Eventually, we just took a taxi from the airport.

Enjoyed the saltwater pool and short walk to the beach. Breakfast was lovely each morning.
No help with bags. Not the best service from the front desk. Some of the restaurant staff also was not the most professional. But there were many other great places to eat. Definitely try On the Rocks next door.

Excellent location and beautifully designed throughout. Staff were all fantastic especially Victoria, Alicia, Elda and Tracea.
Wooden wall separating our room, Topaz, to room next door,Tropical. Could hear everything but Victoria quickly resolved this and moved us to an amazing suite, Oceana, the view was beautiful

the staff was nice but were not able to make any decisions regarding our stay
we paid for a suite and didn’t stay in it until the last night. The water pressure was terrible. We Were made to change rooms the last night, tried to discuss that we paid for upgraded room and we put in a downgraded room but were told to contact “booking.com” for any changes once our trip was complete. so, we stayed on a lessor room the entire trip. I even showed them the pictures of the rooms we paid for but employees were quite indifferent to our circumstances.

Terrible service. Beware because staff is known for placing broken furniture in the rooma to lager charge for damages. We arrived to a room with a broken fridge, stove top, and dinning table- even as we had video and photo proof of the damages upon our arrival they still charged for damages. The staff was extremely rude, I would not reccomend this place to anyone!

We really liked the mansion style, a lot of art can be seen in the structure. It is very well located at West bay with 3-5min walk you can get to the beautiful beach, shops, pharmacy, restaurants, the Placita. We liked a lot the clean rooms and the food is very tasty (lunch, dinner and appetizers) breakfast is ok. Rony the best bar tender knows what he is doing Shawn is not far behind, at reception there are 2 girls at night, we do not remember their names but with the anecdote that I am going to tell you they will know who we are talking about, long story short, we needed change to pay the captain of a tour that we did, we asked at the bar they didn't have it and she at reception didn't also but kindly she took it out of her wallet and said give it to me later was an awesome gesture. Wifi is amazing by the way. Below you will find why we did not give it all stars.
The worst experiences we had were 2 things.First, when we pay the bill for our food and drinks, they give you the receipt and sometimes with my hubby we decided to split it and that was a big deal to the staff they were like well is done and just pay it, just because we are couple don’t assume all the time is one bill plus they started with that big angry faces and an attitude that makes guests uncomfortable, after that we learned so the following times when we decided to split our bills we told them from the beginning and despite that they mixed everything and there were no left ok and again the problem. It is basic to ask the client how they want to pay and not assume and then they get really angry. Then when it gets full at lunch or dinner they get stressed we waited 2 hours for them to serve us dinner and to top it off I ordered ribs and they finished them with other people, how they do not know how much inventory they have for the night? I had to order something else, I read in a previous comment the same problem but so far the first days had not happened to us (we were 7 days in the hotel in total) so if they know that they cannot keep up when it is full they should have a backup,a second chef or something is not pleasant for the clients plus the attitude of the staff as I mentioned before. So I hope this review helps to improve since is a beautiful place.

The lunch menu could be a bit wider but that’s about it

Great menu breakfast included! Best bacon ever!
The bridge you must cross to get to the beach and the boardwalk is very steep and seems a bit dangerous. Redesigning it as stair on the way down would easily solve the issue.
