Being so high up in the hills, unfortunately it is prone to spiders which we had more than what we wanted to see.

This place was tired. Pristine was maybe 5 yrs ago. Hot tub was not working. Glassware service for 3. Construction going on just outside the porch. Should have picked hotel rooms. Vrbo needs to do something about this as you do not get what you supposedly paid for prior to arrival.

This property was gorgeous! The view, the location, the grounds were amazing. The host was wonderful. Will stay here anytime we go to Santa Barbara!

The check-in process was really easy and the apartment had nice new appliances. The apartment also had the amount of beds as advertised and not to mention the view was amazing! Even though the apartment is on the bottom level on the house, it does feel quite private. However, there were some issues such as parking, construction, tree trimming and cleanliness that might all be attributed to the fact that the host originally claimed that she wasn’t expecting us but then said she remembered after all. Not sure what the truth is, but either they planned to have construction and tree trimming done while there were guests there, or the host did actually forget. Not sure what is worse. All in all the experience definitely could have been better. This is a good place to stay if you’re not planning on being at the house most of the day.

This is a cool place. Sits up in the hills overlooking Santa Barbara with a spectacular view all the way to the Pacific! Very comfortable beds. Modern kitchen and really nice patio. Highly recommend it!

The rental was well maintained and the view was spectacular. It should have been more clear about the second bedroom that was very small with no windows. Also, I was disappointed that we could hear other people in the house. Upstairs needs carpeting. People were clomping around all the time and someone was washing dishes at 4am.

Host was very accommodating to us when asking to come early and the property was cute but many ants in the house, noticeable sounds of critters running around in the walls at night, owners being home and working in garage, boxes everywhere outside properly, missing fire alarms, 3 towels for 6 people.. it was ok but not great. I would suggest no more than 4 people stay here. Wonderful view and location.

The view was great. Manager could use a checklist to assure the apartment is equipped. We had to request more plates, towels, a garbage bag. We didn’t have sheets for pullout sofa and stopped trying to communicate when texts went unanswered. Hot water is limited so chose your shower time wisely. Otherwise the view was great, beds were comfy. Hot tub is relaxing and an overall great time was had by all.

The place was ready when we got there and after 3 hrs wait for the place to be ready we decided to cancel.
The property manager was responsive, and tryed to rectify the problem but the place was not quite like advertized.

Beautiful views from where we stayed! The place was clean and the beds were comfortable. And close to downtown life. Would definitely stay here again!

My friends and I stayed at this apartment for the weekend, and we had a wonderful time. The apartment was very clean and looked like the pictures in the listing. The views are amazing, and it's a very short drive to the main strip of restaurants and shopping areas. It was exactly what we wanted and expected. The property manager seems very chill and reasonable too. No complaints!

Let me start off by saying the pictures do not do this place justice. The view is breath-taking and the rooms are larger than they appear in the photos. Location was awesome as just about everything is within a handful of miles (nothing over 3. Patty and Paul were excellent hosts!! I highly recommend a stay here!!

Pros - Beautiful view. Great location for jetting to state street (10 min) or to various hiking locations.
Cons - as was mentioned throughout other reviews, the hot tub was unusable, and the hosts overall seemed kind of disinterested in being hosts. For example, the VRBO app didn't have any check in or check out instructions. This was mostly fine (I don't mind hands-off hosts) but the hosts were also loud. You hear every step from above the rental unit, which was fine during the day, but they kept us up in the middle of the night doing what sounded like vacuuming and moving furniture around at 5AM. I don't go to rental units expecting the same treatment I'd get from a hotel but this fell really far below my expectations.

We enjoyed staying at this beautiful property. Close to downtown. Peaceful and quiet, with gorgeous views. Our hosts, Patty and Paul, were so gracious and friendly, very helpful, and provided amenities that we requested immediately. Would definitely stay again! Thank you!

Rest and Relaxation is just what I found at this home in Mission Cannon. The Million dollar is so much better in person than online you have to see it for yourself trust me won’t be disappointed Especially at night when all the houses around are Lit up.We found it pretty close to the restaurant’s, fisherman’s wharf, and of course State Street. We had a wonderful Christmas here I would highly recommend this to any and everyone.

While the property was clean and ready for our stay, the location was not announced to us until a few days prior to our check in. We were surprised to find that the property sits at the top of a extremely steep driveway, with a significant cliff side edge running along one side of the driveway. The apartment is in the basement of a home, and is pitched toward the cliff, triggering vertigo. King size bed was comfortable, and the area was fairly quiet. The exception was hearing the property owners walking above us around 5am each morning. The hot tub is an inflatable that leaks and had filters misplaced in the interior rather than in the proper filter cartridge. There is no dryer--just a washer located in a dark storage space under the home. The stereo amplifier did not work even though we tried to add a fiber optic cable that the owner provided to us. The Internet was spotty throughout our stay, going in an out. The kitchen utensils and glassware were sparse, the floor lamp had a strobe effect due to a faulty bulb, and one chair had a broken back. Appliances look great but provide temperature readings in celsius. Toilet makes a high pitch whistling sound, requiring frequent flushing even during the night. After seeing a previous complaint about the Internet, we tried to reach the owner 3 times about the internet before our stay and never received a reply.

We enjoyed staying on the property. The view was beautiful as the house is up a steep hill and overlooks all of Santa Barbara and you can see the islands on a clear day. The hot tub was nice and hot. The house is very nice as well. The only downside was that there was a loud whining sound coming from the pipes that interrupted our sleep on multiple occasions. I am not sure exactly what caused this. Overall, our stay was very nice and the owner was very helpful and kind.

First, the good. Comfortably slept four people, could squeeze six I guess. Clean. Good location near town. Comfortable king mattress. Beautiful view from property. Fire pit.
Now, the bad. The owner, Patty, was out of town so I had to call someone else for any issues rather than being able to use VRBO chat. The person in the home also had MANY guests at night and someone parked us in, though they moved their car pretty fast. The normal parking area for guests was largely blocked off by a mound of dirt. The hot tub smelled very chemical but more importantly, has no bench. You’d be sitting on the hard floor if you used it so we didn’t. I also asked how long to heat it. The guy said “not long” I googled it and it would’ve taken four hours if we’d bothered using it. We weren’t told about the mound of dirt blocking most of where we were told to park. So, good overall, but some frustrations.

Stunning location and perfect for a couple with our son in the second smaller bedroom. Great views and proximity to the town of Santa Barbara.

Enjoyed the location. A bit rustic but was good for us. Could use some updates like better towels and kitchen items like dish towels. I’d say basic but good!

Lovely, clean property with beautiful views of Santa Barbara. Easy drive to downtown and very close to Mission Santa Barbara. Little or no internet access, so if you're planning on working, probably not the best location.

A Lovely Santa Barbara Neighborhood Experience
Overall, our stay was very pleasant and enjoyable. I wanted an experience different from the typical hotel on the beach and this is the perfect neighborhood. The view from the patio is truly spectacular with the surrounding hills and ocean in the far distance. At that elevation, the Hawks are swooping and the Hummingbirds come by to say hello! The interior space was immaculate, well laid out and it was obvious great care was taken to ensure we had all the comforts of home--with plenty of towels, a cozy bed and a fully stocked kitchen.
The owner, Patty was very easy to connect with and the check in and out was easy.
There were a couple of very minor things that I think could be improved, and I really mean minor in comparison to how wonderful our stay was. The first is that the patio area, while lovely, lacked the same consistency in terms of comfort as the interior. The furniture was wicker (old and uncomfortable) and while there was in fact a hot tub, it was the blow up type which was uneven and leaning, and I didn't feel comfortable wanting to try it. The sun was intense, and there is no umbrella for shade for made sitting on the patio uncomfortable unless you were right up against the house at a specific time period.
It took quite some time to get hot water to the shower, and had to let it run--I hate wasting water--and there were no markings for "hot" or "cold" so I had to guess which way to orient the handle to get it to warm up. This took some time.
The last part is to know that you are staying in an updated portion on the lower floor of someone's home. I wasn't aware of this when I reserved it, and I certainly may have missed it being promoted that way, but it's just good to know as the family occupies the two floors above and it's a bit noisy when they come back home. Most likely hard wood floors as we hear a bit of stomping above us occasionally.
Like I mentioned, very small things but good to be aware when booking. Overall if was WAY quieter than staying in a hotel anyway.
I think the addition of the outdoor umbrella and some slightly upgraded seating and I would have given it five stars and in alignment with the price. Very lovely and would come back again.

Gorgeous view makes it most worthwhile!
Lovely place, great location, exquisite view, comfortable master bedroom. Floor could be cleaner, and not well appointed (eg one wine glass, one mug, three towels), but we really enjoyed our stay

Weekend getaway
Had a great stay, but this is not a two bedroom appointment.
The king bedroom was spacious and pleasant. The queen bed, however was in an alcove off the living room separated by a sliding door.
Would be more suited to a couple with two children than four adults.

An Oasis with Spectacular Views
We loved spending time on the patio of this property just staring at the most spectacular views of the canyon out to the Ocean. The inside was beautifully designed and extremely comfortable making this a perfect oasis that we will visit again.
Patty , the owner, was readily available to welcome us and help us with any needs or questions.

Good stay overall
The unit was comfortable, well stocked, fairly clean, with great views. The hot tub was nice as well. We did hear quite a bit of noise from the owners who live upstairs (footsteps, cabinets closing, conversations, etc). The parking directions were a bit confusing, and communication with owner could have been better. Although we had a good stay, I don’t think I would stay here again.

Incredible view + hot tub!
My family and I stayed at Patty’s place for 4 days and it was phenomenal! Everything we could need was available, and the best part was the amazing sunset view off the patio with a nice hot tub to enjoy it in!
4.0
Good location but needs attention.
Overall good location, nice and quiet. But the second bedroom really isn't a bedroom. It's a nook that they put a sliding door on. Also, the hot tub is one of those blow up ones and YES IT STILL SHOCKS YOU. I confirmed with the owner ahead of time that this issue had been fixed but it was not. We discovered that if you are wearing shoes it does not but if you are barefoot it will shock you. And it seems to build up over time because it did it the first night but not the second night. Also, there is a big ant problem outside, they were crawling all over the hot tub.
