About this cabin rental
If you are looking for a cute, little, log cabin in the woods, close to a quiet beach, the Lighthouse log cabin is right for you. The cabin is small, but it has everything that you will need for a relaxing getaway! We have a very reasonable and flexible cancellation policy and do make exceptions when things happen that are unexpected. We have a low $75 cleaning fee, no pet fee, a 10% weekly discount, and a 2 night minimum stay! Times are tough right now so we work very hard to provide the best value for your money! We have an extremely fast response and resolution time if you have an issue. We care about your family and our team is here to serve you and make sure you have the very best stay possible. This is a very small cabin, so it is suitable for 2 adults and up to 2 young children and small dogs. Very large or very energetic dogs would not have enough room to run around. All well behaved dogs welcome, up to 2 dogs per booking. We accept well behaved cats upon request, too. Because we are pet friendly and the beach is shared with the other cabins you may occasionally see or hear other guests and their pets. If you are allergic or simply do not like pets our cabin is probably not a good fit for you. Reserve the perfect dates for next summer, now, because it fills up quickly with repeat guests. There is a stone fire pit, picnic table, and chairs. The Lighthouse has 200Mbps high speed internet and Wi-Fi. The cabin is near the end of the North Lubec peninsula, so the location feels very remote, but is only 6 miles from the town of Lubec. Lubec is paradise for nature lovers, but the restaurants are limited and close early and there is no night life because it is just a small, historic fishing village. The Lighthouse cabin is located about a quarter of a mile off of North Lubec Road down a long gravel road (Lighthouse Lane). The Lighthouse cabin is the 2nd, of 3 cabins, with a little stone bridge out front. The cabin is clean and comfortable and is surrounded by tall trees and birds. Bring your paddle board or use our kayaks and explore the bay. To use our kayaks you must sign the waiver form in the welcome book. There is a kayak rack at the beach, but the beach is slightly downhill from the cabin and so is not ideal if you bring heavy kayaks. The cabin shares access to a quiet beach with two other log cabins. The cabins have trees separating them for privacy. Just follow a short path that start right off from the back porch to get to the beach and the kayak rack. Guests staying at the last cabin are aware that guests from the other cabins will be walking the path to get to the beach. This cabin gets its name from the Quoddy Head lighthouse that is a 9.7 mile drive away. Quoddy head's coast guard hiking trails are not to be missed, and other short hiking trails and picnic areas are 10 minutes away on North Lubec Road. We highly recommend the Down East Charters whale watching tours (they run from mid-June too mid-September) from Lubec, the guide is knowledgeable and funny and touring the coastlines of neighboring islands is breathtaking. The Lighthouse log cabin is all on one level and has 2 bedrooms and a small open concept kitchen with a dishwasher, a table, and a small living room space. The screened porch is great for enjoying the cool, salty, breeze and the sound of birds and the tide coming in. There is a washer and dryer and a full bath with a tub shower combo. Outdoor chairs, picnic table, charcoal grill, and a stone fire pit, are provided. This is not a beach for swimming. The current is too strong and the water is always too cold. No smoking and please return all TV equipment to its original settings if you make any changes.

A sweet cabin in the woods. The moment you walk into the cabin, you know you are "home". Lots of attention to detail. After a long, dark, foggy drive it was so nice to arrive at the cabin and see a big bowl of snacks waiting for us and the dogs even had their own welcome basket. Very dog-friendly location. Comfortable furnishings, excellent mattress with lots of pillows. kitchen is well equipped with whatever you need. perfect location in a quiet residential neighborhood with a view of the water The fire pit was perfect on a chilly night. many conservation areas nearby for dog walks and exploring nature. . We loved it so much we've already booked our vacation for next year. Carla is an amazing host and was available to answer questions throughout our stay.

This was our second stay at the Lighthouse Cabin. I enjoyed the same peaceful/zen atmosphere I had last year. It is THE place to escape the crazy world and every day life. A big thank you to Damon, Jamie and Carla for making this possible (through their hard work, consideration, availability and commitment to making their guests feel at home). We are already looking forward to next yearās stay in the Mainly Cabin!!!
I may have my sister and brother-in-law convinced into renting the Lighthouse or American next year.

Perfect cabin at perfect location. Well stocked with everything you could need for a great stay. Host really put some time and effort into the place with plenty of information on local activities, restaurants, maps.......Trail to a beach right from the back porch. 1 minute drive to hiking trails. I could go on and on about how great this place is. It was in fact Paradise.

Enjoyed our stay in this quiet oceanfront location. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable and feel at home. There are many trails in the area and we enjoyed walking and visiting the area with our two dogs. There is a rocky beach just a few yards from the cabin and access is easy for walking along the beach when the tide is low. There are also kayaks that can be used by guests to get a closer look at the beauty and wildlife that live in the bay.

This is our second visit to the Lighthouse Cabin and it was just as good as our first. The cabin is immaculately clean and so many supplies even down the ingredients for sāmores! It is a short walk down to a beautiful beach . On our fist day we saw a HUGE bald eagle on the shore eating a fish! We collected list of sea glass and other treasures. The wild raspberries were ripe and we enjoyed some every day. The town of Lubec is very quaint and small but the gift shops are nice and people are friendly. We went over to Campobello and visited a lighthouse there. Lots of places to go hiking and of course a swim in the ocean if you are brave enoughā¦ brrr! The property manager is a gem and the owners are super fast to respond if you need anything . Will definitely go again!

Everything was perfect and just as described. The only thing I would change is a more comfortable chair / loveseat in front of the TV (I'm 6'4")ā¦ but we didnāt spend much time watching TV anyway, so it wasnāt an issue for us. The cabin was very well equipped with everything we could need. Great nearby trails, super close to the beach for those morning walks, wonderful outdoor sitting area and fire pit. All very thoughtfully put together. A great stay!

This was our 2nd stay at this location, though this time we stayed in Lighthouse cabin, Americana being booked already. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Quiet, peaceful, beautiful beach, very clean, comfortable bed, and complimentary snacks and smores ingredients. Carla the manager has gone above and beyond to help us! Thank you for providing such a wonderful stay.

The cabin was nice and had everything that you would need. Very quiet. We enjoyed a campfire nights it didn't rain. Short walk to the beach. Great area - plenty of places to hike. Plan on staying again.

This was everything we needed to both recharge our batteries and have new adventures. The cabin is remarkably private. The beach kept our 9 and 12 year olds busy exploring for hours on end. The location is within a ten minute drive to Quoddy Head Lighthouse, along with numerous walking trails and historic sites. Perfect place for family bonding and making memories.

A very beautiful home, in a picturesque setting. We felt like we could stay forever. Very relaxing something that my husband really needed. He was able to take many beautiful pictures, of the ocean, the seals, the town, and surrounding areas. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation. Just too short.

Where do I begin? The anticipation was building just driving down to the cabin. It was basically Lovette first sight and an immediate cleansing feeling as I approached the back door. Sitting in the porch made like morning coffee that much more delicious. Walking along the beach looking for my rocks and discovering all of what nature had in store there was truly an adventure.
The surrounding areas were more than I could ask for.
And of course there was Damon, Jamie and Carla couldnāt ask for better host/caretaker. The cabin was immaculate and everything you could ask for and more was waiting for you.
I truly did not want to leave but didnāt think the next guest would appreciate finding me sitting there in the porch.
Definitely worth making this once a year adventure/home away from home. It was probably the most peaceful I have felt in a very long timeā¦ Better medicine than any a doctor could prescribe

We initially booked three days to stay in this cabin but were so happy with everything we extended our trip by an extra day . The lighthouse cabin was clean, comfortable and quiet . The hosts were extremely responsive. They thought of many little extra touches within the cabin which made us feel very at home. My 8 year old son even made plans to move in long term. š We definitely hope to return next year for a longer trip.

Overall this is a wonderful little cabin with all that you could need for a visit to the area. We had plans to go on a puffin tour as well as some short day hikes in the area. Our visit to the area was wonderful and we can definitely recommend a visit to Lubec and the Bold Coast area. If you're visiting with a partner, or young family, this is a perfect cabin for you. Our dog was welcomed as well which always makes any trip that much better. We drove north after work so we arrived late and the hosts left some lights on, the heat was set to a very comfortable temp and the home was stocked with snacks! Our dog even found a lovely little welcome basket for him which he was very pleased by! The Cabin is on a lovely piece of property just a short stroll away from the beach. Newly constructed stairs and well maintained walkway adorned with lights and dog waste supplies make it very pleasant. I cannot speak for all seasons but we visited in mid-June and there were surprisingly few bugs as well! Given that just a few hours south on the coast we are mid bug season this was a wonderful surprise and we walked with our morning coffee down to the water to enjoy the coastal breeze. The hosts were very friendly and communication was wonderful but they left us some space during the stay which made it very peaceful. We always love to meet new people but sometimes a quiet weekend is in order. Thank you so much to the owners! To those looking, do not hesitate to stay here and we will be back!

We absolutely loved the cabin and location and plan to stay again! We would love to rent the larger cabin someday by the ocean with our son and daughter- in-law! We enjoyed walking on the beach at sunrise and we watched the harvest full moon rise on the beach too! Thank you for sharing this beautiful place!!!

This cabin is small, perfect for a couple and perhaps 2 small children. The woodsie area is beautiful with a gorgeous path to the sea. There are hiking paths nearby and the fragrance of the air is heavenly. The cabin was immaculate with amenities and supplies for guests and their pets. We have rented VRBO's many times and this was at the top of our experiences. Thank you Damon and Jamie for sharing your property and thank you Carla for the cleaning you provide.

We had a great time here. The owners were very thoughtful and left a small bin with chips and the makings for sāmores. They also had a bin with things for our dog. He enjoyed napping on the dog bed.
It was a quiet place with a short walk down a private path to the ocean. I enjoyed sitting and knittIng in a chair by the ocean. It was so peaceful and we enjoyed our down time at the cabin as much as our time out doing things.
Thank you for a great stay!

Perfect location to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Woke up on our last day and saw the spectacular sunrise. Looking forward to coming back. Lots of ocean trail hiking nearby.

This cozy, clean cabin a short easy walk to beautiful water views was exactly as advertised and did not disappoint. Weād vacationed many times in Maine but never been to the bold coast area before. The cabin was a great base for day trips to the many great nearby hiking trails, Campobello island, a whale watching tour out of Lubec, and to charming funky Lubec. The cabin and all facilities included were excellent and allowed us to settle into vacation mode immediately. Very thoughtful touches in cabin and grounds and very responsive management. Weād definitely come back!

I cannot say enough good things! The cottage was SPOTLESSLY CLEAN when we got there, and anything we might have needed or forgot was there. If you forget your toothbrush or toothpaste, it's there. Bandaids. Peroxide. Want to make an omelet? Fully stocked kitchen. Dinner? A grill outside or use the full oven and stove. Full ice cube trays in the freezer. Dog bed. Cookie jar with dog biscuits. All awesome! Oh, and there was a SLIGHT problem with the TV remote, and Jamie actually gave us a little refund, which was COMPLETELY unnecessary, but very much appreciated!
There are 3 cottages on a private lane. One of the other families had 2 dogs and our dog was thrilled to make friends and play. And because it's a private road, there's no traffic except for the 3 cottages, so the dogs could safely play in the yards together. The beach was a short walk down the stairs and we took her there as well to play. Two hiking areas right down the road, walking distance.
The area is very low key and quiet. We didn't see a traffic light all week! I was there to do a puffin tour in Cutler (Bold Coast Charter, totally recommend!), and we also went into Canada twice and up to Eastport. All very quiet, which was what we wanted from our trip.
If I have a reason to go back to that part of Maine again, I would run, not walk, to rent this cottage again. It was so cozy and comfortable and just great to be in the middle of the woods for several days, hiking, hanging out, walking on the beach, etc.

This was one of the best experiences. The description was accurate . Check in process was flawless and the directions were spot on. The cabin exceeded our expectations as it is super cute , clean and everything was as described. The path to the beach was well done and the stairs to the beach looked brand new. The beach was perfect for hanging out or looking for sea glass which we did a lot. There are other cabins but I only saw another person the whole time we were there. The owners even had coffee, snacks and supplies for sāmores. Plenty of hiking in the area as well as a few nice restaurants to eat at. Just a short drive to Campobello which we also enjoyed . The owners responded almost immediately if we had any questions. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!!

Beautiful spot
A great little cabin with everything you need. The beach offers great views. The hosts made everything easy (and even provided the ingredients for s'mores!). We are now wondering when we can rent all three cabins for a family reunion.

Little cabin in the woods by the beach
We enjoyed our stay. It was nice to take the short path to the beach, and walk at low tide or sit in the chairs and watch the water and the tides change. We enjoyed the nearby Cobscook coastal trails and going to Lubec, Campobello and Cobscook State Park. A great location. The cabin was small, with the living room/ dining area tight for 3 adults and a dogā¦but it worked. The managers/owners were responsive to our questions. The cabin was well equipped for cooking and even had a dishwasher and washer and dryer. Over all, a great place to stay.

Down East Dream Cabins
My wife and I and our young children (ages 6 and 4) loved our stay in the American cabin while my elderly father and brother thoroughly enjoyed the Lighthouse cabin. The cabins had everything we needed and all of the furniture and fixtures are fresh and high quality. We loved our morning coffee on the screened-in porch and making sāmores using the fire pit. The setting is magical. North Lubec is peaceful and quiet yet a short drive to the restaurants and amenities of quaint and charming Lubec village. The gravel path to the beach is short and easy to navigate and a fascinating place that changes with the tide. The cabin Wi-Fi and internet access were strong (I was able to easily connect to my employerās network and work remotely.) Cobscook Shores has several nearby properties to explore. Campobello Island is a surprising gem. If you are looking for a magical getaway in Down East Maine I highly recommend these cabins as your home base. We will be back!

Superb Location
Could not have been better. Well maybe bigger but a 70lb. Lab does tend to get in the way. Cabin a bit small for us and stairs to beach a bit daunting for the 70+ age group. Just saying. Others more spry and in better shape would probably not have an issue. One suggestion would be to cut down on supplies and amenities left for guests. Not much room for groceries, etc. Storage is a bit of a pain. Owners are incredibly responsive as evidenced by their efforts to resolve an internet connectivity issue as fast as possible. We used the grill and fire pit often. Thanks for a great experience. Can only say now that weāve discovered Lubec hope no one else does. š Given scheduling and bookings we will be back!
