Beautiful location for this homely cottage. Had all the facilities we required for 5 people. Nice log fire. Kitchen a bit tight. Beds comfy. Breakfast offerings welcome, Only slight limitation for 5 people was single bathroom with toilet all in with shower, Host contact to get keys. WIFI and general contact was very good. Highly recommended

Quaint and clean. 10 yo son was happy there was internet - he didnt expect it due to being an old cottage! Love the woodfire and the beds were very comfortable.

Lovely little cottage in a beautiful part of the valley.
Guests are best advised to bring breakfast supplies, as there is only a limited range on offer, but the cottage itself is gorgeous and very comfortable.

Peppertree was perfect accommodation for our groom & groomsmen and having both Peppertree & Tickle in such close proximity worked extremely well for our needs. Would highly recommend for a getaway with friends and family.

This accommodation has an adjacent cottage right next to it with zero fencing in between. The back doors are less than 3 metres away from each other.
Do not book this if you are looking for a private getaway. We had noisy 'neighbours' with dogs coming over into our part of the property and someone walking right into our lounge looking for the shared laundry facilities.
This should be fully disclosed in the listing.

Wonderful atmosphere, comfy beds, great hot water supply for rural accomodation, and so close to all the attractions. Mintaro is a delightful village with very special attractions of maze and Martindale Hall. The wood fire was a treat and kept the cottage cosy throughout. Great stay with our family and dog

Such a charming place. I can not think of a better place to spend my birthday. A lovely bottle of wine and some crunchy bread was there to greet us. The lovely warm fire, unbelievably comfortable beds and such a warm, inviting place to spend some time to wind down and take some time out. Plenty of places to go for a walk just outside of this delightful cottage. Our dog Milly was in heaven.
We ran out of wood and within an hour the wood box was replenished.
Can’t wait for another visit. Thank you to our hosts

Front and internal doors jamming ,difficult to open .. dangerous steps down to living area ,arriving in unlit room .bathroom heater not working ,shower floor cracked ,insufficient tea making facilities (no tea bags) only one bedroom had heating .tv remote does not work .
This property need quite a lot of TLC and updating . The saving grace of this let is the beds and bedding which were excellent Would not recommend this stay to any one until vast improvements are made

We found the property charming and quirky.
The bedrooms were clean and lovely.
The lounge had not been cleaned very well if at all, dirty floor.
The kitchen is tiny but was fine for us, especially having the spacious dining room.
The bathroom was fine and the shower great.
We enjoyed our stay there, perhaps a bigger second couch would be even better.
Thankyou to the owners and hosts. We had a great time.

Unfortunately we experienced millipedes everywhere, in the beds, lounge, walls not sure where they were coming from but this made our stay very uncomfortable. The placed needed a good clean and we were washing cutlery and saucepans and cleaning down kitchen surfaces before we could cook our meal. The toaster needs replacing.

Great cottage in rural setting. Bread, wine, OJ & milk on arrival which was a lovely welcome. Loved that we could take our dog. The family in house next door also had a (larger) dog so thankfully the backyards are fenced off. Also loved the fireplace; we had cool nights despite the sunny days. We ate out or had cheese n meze platter for dinners so didn’t use the oven/stove. Unfortunately quite a few flies, millipedes and other bugs in the house so we shoved an old towel from our car inside the door which slowed them down. As a country gal, it didn’t bother me. Would stay again!

Lovely little cottage in great location just outside Mintaro, with an adjacent second larger property.
Process smooth and easy.

Brilliant rustic location. Surrounded by farming property with sheep. Comfortable old cottage. Host was excellent and responsive when we needed something.
The only concern would be is if the semi attached cottage next door was occupied by kids or noisy groups. Absolutely no issue while we were there .
We would stay again, its lovely , though more likely if it was couples/dogs only. But would be awesome for groups and families
Thanks

Lovely cottage in quiet paddock with plenty of kangaroos and birds in the surrounding area. Slow combustion wood heater was needed during the winter. Very effective! Loved walking the area. 2Km from Mintaro.

Amazing property
A really comfortable property with lots of charm. One of our favourite places during our visit to SA. It’s super close to the main street of Mintaro but it feels private and peaceful.

A beautiful holiday cottage
We stayed at Peppertree Cottage for 5 nights. It was a gorgeous place to stay, beautiful countryside, a lovely walk into Mintaro for great lunches, or a short drive away from numerous top quality eating places, not to mention the brilliant wine in the whole area. The only thing we would comment on about the house was the steep steps leading up to the bathroom and dining room, which would be difficult for some, but didn’t pose a problem for us. A very pretty, comfortable place for a gorgeous holiday.

Character, comfort and tranquillity
Old character cottage in super-peaceful location. Surrounded by farmland, close to Mintaro village, we enjoyed watching local bird life. A place to really chill, slow down and be present. Very comfy for just two, but it sleeps 6 in 3 rooms. Living space is fairly small for 6, but fine for us. Small kitchen but well equipped for self catering. Local pub, Magpie and Stump, is excellent. Just a short drive to many local wineries and attractions. There are internal steps up to bathroom, dining room and one bedroom. The rest is all on one level.

Can be good, depending on what you are after
It's a quaint cottage in the middle of nowhere, as listed, so it's good if that is what you are after. Probably best for adult groups when there's weather you can barbecue and eat/relax outside.
We were a family of 4 with a toddler and 3 year old. Hosts were very accommodating, but we found it a bit challenging in terms of managing children there for the bathroom facilities. The kitchen doesn't really have any work surfaces so it's a bit tricky if you're trying to cook there. Also, maybe we weren't all that great at keeping the Mortein up, but there were dozens of millipedes kicking around after our 2 night stay.
Worth noting that the nearby Stump and Magpie is pretty basic. The Indian take-away in Clare is great though.
Thanks for having us!

Picture perfect B&B in the Clare Valley
A wonderful place to stay, just outside Mintaro. Loved exploring the woolshed and seeing the canola fields in flower. Lovely that we could bring our dogs, and appreciated the provisions and cosy wood fire. Thank you for having us and we will be back.

Beautifully presented, wonderfully stocked,
Lovely house, the supplies were lovely and unexpected. The cleanliness was sparkling , the wood fire amazing at keeping the whole house warm, bedding was quality too
Only downside I can say is the fact we didn’t know about no fencing for dogs, and the proximity of the neighbouring cottage, which is at a right hand angle to the other, again with no separation between them, great for families I imagine but I was concerned if that cottage had dogs too.
Other than that it was an actual pleasure to stay there. And the owners have done a wonderful job

Cosy cottage, beautifully presented - great location
Great location to explore the Clare Valley. Wood fire, nice hot shower and comfy beds. Thank you for being one of only a few pet friendly options! Plenty of space to wander and explore with our 4 legged friend. Only thing that would have made our stay even better was if there had been a secure fenced area we could leave her for those occasions when we wanted to go out for dinner or maybe hire a bike for riding the trails in the area.
Peppertree is also colocated with Tickles cottage. While we weren't aware of this when we booked, makes us think about future opportunities to come and enjoy the property with extended family! Margie was prompt in responding to our query/booking and attentive during our stay as she checked that we had enough wood to keep the fire burning to keep us warm! Thank you for a lovely country, winter holiday break!

Perfect little cottage for winters get away
Unfortunately I rented this cottage because I was building a house in the area and stayed there with my 3 employees but when I entered up the big driveway and opened up the door to the beautifully restored cottage I instantly wished that I was there with my partner instead!!
Would be a great place to relax in front of the fire after a hard day of exploring the beautiful wine region.
The beds are super comfy and there's even WiFi and a smart TV.
Ill definitely be back with my partner and a couple of friends to truly enjoy this beautifully presented little step back in time.........without having to go to work this time! 😆

A warm and inviting cottage in a lovely rural setting, with the added bonus of being fur-baby friendly. We all loved the open fire.

Cosy cottage in a secluded location
From the moment we stepped inside Peppertree cottage we felt welcomed. Margie had the fire ready to light when we arrived and the cottage had everything we could've asked for. A great secluded location with Clare only a 15 minute drive for any necessities.
