Located 5 minutes across the water is Lake Cumberland STATE DOCK. 4 MILES to the CENTER of TOWN and 2 MILES from LILY CREEK Boat Ramp. A perfect location for this unique lakeside hideaway that was built for enjoying time with friends and family...and PET FRIENDS as well.
Shady🌲Lake Hideaway offers quick and easy access to LAKE CUMBERLAND and local and hiking spots. The 60 FOOT DRIVEWAY on the property allows for BOAT PARKING in addition to the main driveway.
All 3 QUEEN BEDROOMS have their own bathroom. Yep! 3 FULL BATHROOMS. An additional sofa bed is located on the lower level.
This hexagon-shaped cottage is truly unique. Lovingly called "the nut house" (as in hexagonal nuts and bolts) by the road's veteran residents, the cottage has an open concept UPPER-level that includes a MASTER suite (sleeps 2) QUEEN with attached FULL bathroom & shower. The upper-level GUEST bedroom (sleeps 2) QUEEN also has its own attached FULL bathroom with a shower/tub combo.
The FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN allows for home cooking with all major appliances, cookware, dishes and utensils. The bar height table seats 6-8 people with the expandable leaf found under the table. A live edge breakfast bar seats an additional 2. The upper-level conversation area has board games and a Smart TV with access to the GRILL DECK and outdoor seating/eating area.
The LOWER-level doors open to a welcoming FIRE PIT with Adirondack chair seating where one can roast s'mores, share stories and play a game of corn toss.
The lower-level POOL TABLE, Smart TV, and JBL PartyBox allow for an evening of kick-back and relax after a hard day of play. You will find the GUEST bedroom (sleeps 2) QUEEN, FULL bathroom with shower, sleeper sofa (sleeps 2), and laundry room on the lower-level.

Our stay at the Lake Hideaway could not have been more perfect. We have come to Lake Cumberland many times for Poker Run week. Have even stayed on this road in different houses 4 other times, this was by far the best one. Place was super clean and well thought out with everything you would need. Place is even set up if you happen to fall into bad weather and need to stay in. Plenty of supplied games and activities. Added bonus for us was the second extra-long driveway that I was to back my 40' boat and truck in. Suzanne was great with communication, very responsive and very helpful. Saw this place last year when staying just down the road and glad I booked it right away! Would definitely stay here again.

I've rented a lot of vacation places, but I have to say this was The Best. From the moment we parked, we need was going to be great. The youngest in our group of 4 was my wife at 77. Her 2 sisters and myself all over 80, so having 3 nice bedrooms with their own bathroom was very nice. Also the 3 individual AC units were great because the women don't like it as cool as I do. I can't begin to list all of the amenities but there were more than we used. Some nice restaurants in town, we especially liked Reef Java, and a great pizza from Giovannis. I had a couple of questions and texted Suzanne, the property owner, and she replied immediately. If we get the chance to visit again, we know for sure where we will stay.

My husband and I stayed for a few nights. Every detail was covered meticulously. Not only was the inside stocked with everything we needed, the outside was comfortable and relaxing. We would definitely stay there again!

We were all impressed with the rental. It was easy to find, based on the directions provided and the pictures on the listing. It was easy to get into, thanks to the clear instructions emailed to us before the stay. The rental was clean, cool when we walked in, and inviting. The outdoor area was nice. We were there for two nights, and all seven of us were comfortable and content. Sleeping was comfortable, and each area having its own individually controlled A/C unit was great. Of particular interest to me was the accessibility of the rental. I am a double amputee in a wheelchair, and any of you who have ever needed a wheelchair accessible vacation rental know the tedious and depressing nature of looking for something that you can get into. The interior of this rental was great.I could get into bed easily. I could get into the bathroom and to the toilet, and although the sink/tub area was tight, I was still able to brush my teeth and take care of sink things. I did not try to use the shower/bath. The deck on the main floor was wide and spacious, and I had no problem maneuvering around on it. There was a small bump up into the main house that I could get with no assistance, but if you have a ramp you travel with then you will be fine. The only area that presented a problem was the short distance from the paved parking lot to the wooden ramp up to the deck. There was a small dip off of the pavement onto about three feet of flagstones, which my front wheels dug into.

We have planned a trip for a while before arriving at the cabin. Even though most of our trip had rain, the cabin offered many accommodations that helped us stay inside and cozy! We spent a lot of the time playing games and exploring around the different towns when we could go out. We would 100% recommend this place and maybe come back in the future

This was our 3rd year staying here and it is by far our favorite Lake spot! We love everything about this house and the location. Lake Cumberland is definitely our family’s happy place and we can’t wait to come back next year! We go to the State dock to rent a boat, this year we went out on the lake 2 days and it was beautiful! If you’re looking for a home cooked meal without having to cook your self I recommend Estos cafe! If you need a perfect house for your lake stay, this is the place! Suzanne Is absolutely wonderful and her home is perfect! Happy lake days!!

We loved staying at this property. They had everything we needed for our short getaway to the lake. The house was clean & spacious. Beautifully decorated. Plenty of seating inside and out. We loved sitting out on the deck having our morning coffee. Will definitely stay here again!!

We enjoyed everything about our stay! The cabin was super clean and decorated so neat with Lake themed pics and wall accents. Plenty of parking for a boat and five minutes to the launching ramp. Host was quick to communicate on one question we had. I highly recommend!

The property was exactly as described, and was very nice, both inside and out. Although we spent most of our time on the lake, there is plenty to do at the house if you catch a rainy day or just need some relaxation time. Suzanne was a great host, and checked in multiple times during our trip to ensure everything was good. Neighborhood was very nice and well kept. Zero complaints with this property

We absolutely loved the place. We had teenage girls with us. When we were not at the lake there was plenty of things at the house for them to play. Also location was great so we could go on walks around the neighborhood with the girls. Also the communication was very easy with the host. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We could not have asked for a better vacation rental. Everything was absolutely perfect. The home was beautiful and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The owner is very thoughtful and provides so much to make your stay easy and stress free. We really appreciated all of the extras like gas for the grill and firewood for the fire pit. Communication was excellent. Highly recommend this property. We have been renting on vrbo for many years and overall this was the best experience we have ever had! Thank you so much!

Lovely house near the lake, loved the decor! We felt at home the minute we walked in. Anything you could possibly need for cooking was provided and if you’re not into cooking while on vacation and want a good restaurant Suzanne provides a great list of recommendations and you can’t go wrong with any of those ! Days spent exploring the area and evenings relaxing on the deck and playing pool. Suzanne was great at communicating, direction's etc. She responded quickly to any questions we had. Would definitely stay again!

We had a family get together in December at Shady Lake Hideway. The hideaway was clean and just as shown in the description. We enjoyed hanging out downstairs with the pool table, the TV and the table for board games. We cooked our own meals and also enjoyed PePe's Mexican Grill in Jamestown. Suzanne responded to my texts and provided a wonderful environment for a winter weekend.

The house was perfect for my family and my former college roommate's family. We have been meeting up once a year for the last 15 years. The house was separated nicely so the teens were able to hang out downstairs while the adults could enjoy conversations upstairs. We enjoyed yard games like Cornhole and had a fire in the fire pit. The kitchen had all the essentials and everything was well organized and taken care of. The owner was good about communicating with us and checking/out were so easy. I would stay here again.

The cottage is located close to the lake. We enjoyed the security as well as the surroundings. The amenities were excellent. The inside of the cottage was very well appointed. I stayed at Shady Lodge with two of my friends. We enjoyed having our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The house was decorated in a fun and cozy style. It was very well equipped, and all appliances worked well. The beds were very comfortable and each room had its own AC/Heating so we could set the room to our own comfort level. We enjoyed the large TV downstairs as well as the pool table. The spiral stairs were a little bit of a challenge, but by the time we left we were really getting the hang of them. We also appreciated the complimentary firewood and spent many enjoyable hours around the fire pit. We spent a lot of time on the back deck playing cards and games. We were able to play well into the evening because the deck lights lit it up very well. While I didn't need to contact Suzanne, she sent me a welcoming text which made me feel like I could contact her about anything, and she would promptly respond. My friends and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!

My kids and I love this cozy home close to the lake ! We had everything we could ask for to enjoy our Labor Day weekend ! My son loved the lower level which he claimed as his “man cave”. The outdoor setting was so relaxing for an evening fire with s’mores and a glass of wine ! Host was awesome and so responsive to any questions . We will definitely come back!

We booked Suzanne's home over Labor Day weekend as a chance to take our young kids on their first vacation and it couldn't have been more perfect. Between our two families, we had 4 adults and 3 toddlers, and there was more than enough space for all of us to be comfortable. The home is equipped with everything you could ever need and there isn't a detail that Suzanne hasn't thought of. After a long day of boating, the backyard was the perfect spot for the grown-ups to relax around a fire, while the kids wore themselves out running up and down the hill and swinging on the hammock. The location is extremely convenient to Safe Harbor marina - less than 7 minutes. Many great memories were made at Shady Lake Hideaway and we hope to be back soon!

The property owner is very responsive and clear about the entire process. She was great to work with! The house is the perfect size for a couple, two couples or three couples with a couple of children. We had two couples. The house was immaculate, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked, it's close to the lake, 15 minutes from restaurants or grocery stores and very comfortable to stay in. We were disappointed in Coe's Steakhouse in Russell Springs-small, outdated and we saw bugs. The locals seem to like it. The blender went out during our stay and a new one was delivered within a couple of hours while we were at the lake. We were not fans of the crow's nest staircase, but you can't have everything. We would DEFINITELY stay at the Hexagon House again! Can't recommend it highly enough. Beautiful neighborhood, incredibly quiet and peaceful with very friendly neighbors. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Some rentals just stand out above the others and this is one of them.

Our 2nd time staying at Shady Lake Hideaway. Very happy with all the amenities, including big screen TV (with sound bar), pool table, Cornhole boards! and well furnished kitchen. My wife and I stayed in a different bedroom this time- very comfortable bed and pillows.
