About this apartment rental
Summary:
This garden level space is perfect if you're on a budget and desire privacy, comfort and cleanliness. Renovated using top-end finishes including Imported Spanish Tile flooring as well as many other high-end materials. Enjoy peaceful slumbers on our new Gel Memory Foam mattresses and white linen sheets while enjoying streaming services on SmartTV. Located minutes away from Boston Landing Train, easy access to Fenway Park & Copley Sq.
The Space:
This room was constructed to host Airbnb guests and is designed for travelers seeking the comfort, convenience and cleanliness they would find in a hotel, but at a fraction of the price. This basement level room is equipped with a Smart TV, Wifi, Queen bed with Memory Foam mattress, keurig coffee maker, mini fridge and private bath. There is NO KITCHEN or access to cooking equipment, however there are so many takeout options in our immediate area that one can get food delivered from any number of restaurants in under an hour.
Our home is a classic three-decker. We now do Airbnb on the 2nd floor and in these two basement bedrooms. The basement has a private entrance around the back of our home for added privacy. A unique access code is generated for each reservation that provides access to the foyer door and then your unit door. Walk through the comfortable foyer area and you will find a large finished basement with two separate units on opposite sides of the house, each designed like a hotel room with private access and en-suite bathroom.
Guest Access:
We offer coin operated laundry for guests to use. The laundry units are in the foyer area of the basement entrance. This foyer area is a shared space. Off-street parking is available for free, however it must be reserved at the time of booking. Unrestricted street parking is available all weekend. Mon-Friday 8am-6pm there is a loosely enforced 2-hour restriction on street parking without a resident sticker.
The Neighborhood:
The Allston/Brighton neighborhood has probably the deepest and most diverse selection of restaurants of any neighborhood in Boston. Within a short walk from our home hungry guests can find food from just about any ethnicity, a traditional steak house, seafood or the recently opened Flatbreads that offers Bowling and is only a five minute walk from our property. The property is four miles from Boston Common, which is the center of Boston, and a 20 minutes drive from Logan Airport. Supermarket, Liquor Store, Starbucks, Pharmacy, Restaurants and Retail, Bus Transportation, and Train to Downtown Boston are within 5-10 minute walk. Neighborhood is safe and well lit. Also close to Harvard Business, New Balance, WGBH, Bruins and Celtics Training Facilities, Boston University and Boston College. Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Marshalls, Home Goods less than a mile away.
Getting Around:
We are a five minute walk from the Boston Landing Train Station which makes getting to Fenway Park, Back Bay or South Station quick and easy.
At the end of my street there is bus service to Harvard & Central Square. If you have a car getting to Downtown Boston or points north, south or west of Boston are easily accessed by either the Mass Pike or Storrow Drive. Logan Airport is an easy 20 minute ride.
Uber and Lyft are also readily available.
Other Things to Note:
The room is located in the basement of our home but was recently constructed to the highest standard and meets all required building and safety codes. There are two similar rooms in our basement (each with their own bathroom, and each with their own unique door lock codes) that share a private entrance from the rest of the house and common area foyer.
We are located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, 4 miles from Downtown. We are close to several buses and the Boston Landing train stop is right down the road, about a 5-minute walk. The Boston Landing inbound train goes to Fenway, Back Bay (Downtown) and South Station.
You can find a link to the train schedule by going to MBTA (dot com) and selecting the Worcester commuter train.

Nice, cozy, clean and safe place. It was a 40 minute walk from Harvard Square and local transportation was available nearby.

The Harvard Room was perfect for our two-night stay close to downtown. The room was immaculate, quiet and newly furnished with everything we needed, right down to virtually unlimited coffee capsules. The owners made check-in extremely easy and answered questions quickly. Having a commuter rail station (Boston Landing) only a half-mile away was a big plus. The station for Fenway, Fine Arts Museum and other top Boston attractions was just one stop away. We're hoping to go back soon and continue discovering all Boston offers.

Check in process was very easy. There is a main code for the door leading to the entry of the two rental units and then a different code for the door to the room. Our code to the room didn't work but the owner responded within a few minutes with a different code. The laundry is right in the entryway to the two units and it was very nice to get to do a load of laundry. The room had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable with 4 nice pillows and plenty of towels were provided. Having parking was a huge perk! It is true what I read in some of the other reviews that you can hear people walking on the floor above the basement unit but honestly it wasn't bad. The walking started around 7 am and we were usually up and getting ready to go explore Boston anyway by that time. The neighborhood seemed safe with nice cars parked on the street, people jogging, and families walking with strollers.

Great location for participating in the HOCR as it is a 20 minute walk to the FALS area. Good coffee shop and grocery store nearby as well. Suited our needs very well!

We came in town for a concert. It was conveniently located but on a quiet street. The host was responsive & accommodating.

We had a great stay here in this nicely decorated, clean room. The bed was soft and comfy with lots of pillows. There was everything we needed including toiletries in case we had forgotten something. The 10am checkout time was a little earlier than we would have liked but wouldn’t deter us from staying there again

The location was lovely, just what we wanted, close to attractions we wanted to see in Boston. Safe. Clean, A/C. My son loved that we could log onto our own Netflix when we were chilling at night. The Keurig was a nice touch.
There were a couple personal items left in the desk from the person before us, I assume, and I think she didn't remember to log out of her Netflix, but that was minor. Overall really enjoyed our stay.

Just as expected
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable! Communication with the owner was excellent. Great coffee shop close by. A bit of a walk to the train. The bus stop was closer. The only thing I would have desired was some outdoor space to sit in the morning/evening.

All that was promised and more
Everything was as promised. Great coffee selection. They even had shaving cream and other toiletries.

Lovely apartment.
This studio is lovely and perfect for 1-2 people, no more. On the other hand, the neighborhood is pretty sketchy. It's not terrible geographically speaking, as it's not far from the airport or BU, but that's where it ends. I was worried about walking around there by myself, even during the day. Brighton looks like it's fine for a couple, but not for a single woman.

Clean and bright!
We stayed for two evenings and found our room to be very clean. After a long day of travel it was nice to sink into the bed and relax. The bathroom was clean and everything worked well. Toiletries and coffee were a welcome touch. I took off one star because the pillows provided no support and I slept poorly because of it, but otherwise, everything was perfect. There are some nice bars and restaurants within close walking distance as well!

Perfect stay for a short visit
The drive to the property can raise questions about the location - I was a little uneasy as it feels like you’re on the outskirts of town. However, upon arrival, you realize that the property is extremely nice and safe. My boyfriend and I were there for a quick 2-night stay. Keep in mind you’re sharing the basement with another VRBO room (completely separated). The room was very clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom is updated and also super nice. If you’re only there to sleep at night, it’s the perfect location! The hosts are extremely helpful and have great communication via the app. They let us keep our luggage in storage space after check out - very helpful and kind! Definitely recommend for a budget stay.

Clean, fresh, simple
Exactly what I was looking for, for a couple quick overnights in the Boston area. We’d definitely stay there again!

Great VRBO!
The stay was great. Exactly what was listed, very clean, and a great location to navigate the city!

It's ok for a quick stay.
There's a child on the floor above that runs non-stop and the walls are paper thin. The internet was extremely slow/non existent at times. The parking situation is terrible. The sump pump is really loud and was constantly going off. I understand its purpose but when you're trying to sleep and a bunch of noise is going on, it's irritating. It comes down to, it was a clean bed/bathroom and that's about it. To me this items are outside of the owners reach for a quick fix therefore I did not bother him

We had a great time at this location, everything that was listed was there, no problems at all! Quiet neighborhood (even close to the hwy) and we had no problems getting in or out!

Mis represented
First off, the neighborhood didn’t seem safe. Didn’t know my room was in a basement. When I got there, didn’t know there was another room for another person. There was common area, thought that was my space. I was in a room in a basement of a house. Felt very confined. Couldn’t do it. Didn’t like it at all. Stayed there 1 night of 3 and paid extra bucks to get a hotel room downtown Boston.

Clean Space + Comfy Bed
This was a nice property that was easy to access. The check-in process was smooth and contactless and once we got to the room we immediately noticed how clean everything was. The walls are fairly thin so you can hear flushing and some conversations from the room that is connected by the front foyer. Overall, it was a great stay. The bed is super comfy and the space is close to grocery stores and fairly close to bars/restaurants in Brighton & Allston.

Came down to Boston to help my friend move into her Harvard apartment and this was a great, private spot close to the campus & the Allston neighborhood. Easy to walk to bars, restaurants, coffee and transit. We were out most of the day but this unit was ideal to rest , shower, etc after a long day. If you’re going to be out in the city most of the day and are looking for a cozy, simple place to land in Allston this spot is ideal. Will be back for my next visit

3 nights in Allston
I booked this trip so I could have comfortable spot to work remotely while I visited friends. I ended up arriving very late but found all of the check-in directions very easy to follow and I was able to access the unit without any problems. Wifi was excellent and I was able to have video calls without any issues. The unit was also very quiet which was a huge bonus. AC, shower/water pressure, bed were all great! I was also able to utilize a parking spot for my rental car which was a great perk. The location is great with easy access to Allston, highways, supermarkets, and bars/restaurants.
