Dale was great! Home was very accommodating for our family trip. Conveniently located to many sites for day trips exploring the upper peninsula. Beautiful sunrises in the morning and the highlight for me was watching a lake otter play in the water.

Our stay in Paradise was absolutely wonderful for four people who just wanted to relax and get away from it all! The house was cozy and inviting with many comfortable spaces to sit with a book or enjoy the lovely view of the lake. The kitchen was great for fixing meals when we weren't taking advantage of the restaurants in town. As for sleeping, the beds were, by far, the most comfortable that any of us had ever slept in, including our own at home! We were not really interested in traveling too far afield, but Tahquamenon Falls State Park and the lighthouse at Whitefish Point were each about 10 minutes away and were both a splendid short getaway. Don't miss collecting some Yooper rocks on the beach at the Point! We did not have any issues while were there, and Dale was quick to respond to any questions we had before our stay. It was a very stress-free and rejuvenating week, truly our own piece of Paradise!

We enjoyed sitting by the water listening to the waves and the breeze and bonfires at night. Saw incredible sunrises and the moon had many different views. Enjoyed stargazing with our grandson.
Visited Tahquamenon Falls, the summer sled dog facility, Soo Locks and Brimley.
The only thing that was bothersome was having to live out of a suitcase as there was only closets to hang clothes.
Would definitely stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very spacious home, clean and comfortable. Loved the back covered deck and views of Whitefish Bay. The firepit area was great as we enjoyed sitting by the fire overlooking the bay. The location was perfect for seeing the various sites. Dale was a great host and answered any questions we had. Great stay.

We had a great time at this relaxing family retreat. The sunrises were beautiful. This house had everything we needed. The rooms were a great size and the beds were super comfy. We really enjoyed our time here. Thank you!

We truly enjoyed our visit to the U.P.
Owners were easy to get in touch with and gave us tips and recommendations for getting around Paradise. House was immaculate and well stocked. The view out back is amazing and you can even see it from the living area and bedroom upstairs. You do need to be early risers for the two bedrooms upstairs since there are skylights. Sunrise is a must see over the water!
Everything we wanted to see/visit was about an hour away which was nice. The farthest stop was the Pictured Rocks but well worth the extra time.

Home was very clean and has lots of amenities. Newer appliances and grill made eating in easy. The location is great! The view does not disappoint. The sunrises are amazing. We loved spending time on the back porch and next to the fire pit. We watched the lake for hours! The home is close to town so you can grab a meal or extra supplies. Our teenagers didn’t want to leave! If that doesn’t speak for its excellence I don’t know what will. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home.

Between the view and the location, it was the perfect spot to stay at for 6 days. All the most common destination to visit in the UP are very close to enjoy and make day trips all week long.
Dale was very attentive to answering the questions I had, prior to making the trip. The house had all the accommodations needed to make the 6 days stay easy.
The overall living space in the house, the outdoor deck and firepit available to hang out, made no one feel crowded.
You won't be disappointed to stay here!!

We had a very relaxing time in Paradise. The sunrises were just gorgeous! We enjoyed tracking the ships and watching them off in the distance passing by.
Dale was very responsive with any questions we had before and during our stay.
Most of the local businesses were closed so we didn't do much exploring in town. We did go to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, which is a must see!

We had a really nice stay here. The view is amazing, the house was very clean and beautiful.
The main bedroom upstairs is really nice. Great view from the seating area for sunrises, and also star gazing at night.
Dale was a great host. He responded very quickly when we had questions.
Would definitely recommend the Gitche Gummee Lodge!

Loved the views of Lake Superior throughout the house! We spent much of our time, while at the house, enjoying the view of the water. Nice place to relax and get away from stresses of everyday life.
The falls at Tahquamenon Falls State Park are definitely worth a visit. They are very scenic and a short drive from the house
For those of you considering staying here in the future, note that the nearest grocery store is approximately 30 - 45 minutes away.
The town of Paradise is very small. It does have several restaurants if you decide to stay in for the day relaxing.
Two major concerns about the house. One is the smoke smell residual that remained inside the entire time during our stay. It's evident that the previous renter started a fire in the fireplace during their stay. Unfortunately, the residual smell never left. It bothered both my wife and I during our stay. Fortunately, we were able to open up the house some while we were there.
The other concern involved when we first arrived at the house. All downstairs windows, along with the backdoor, were open. I believe this was due to the fact they the housekeeper was trying to air out the house. The backdoor was very difficult to lock. The owner did inform me that this issue will be addressed this Fall.
The house was not as clean as we have experienced elsewhere. Here again, the owner did state that they just switched housekeeping services.

Great place for our family of 5. Beautiful views and had everything we needed. Very convenient, close to all our activities. Can not say enough about Dale who went above and beyond when our son left his wallet behind.

Dale, answered a couple of questions, very timely. Even gave us a heads up on a power outage that the power company was going to implement. So we altered our schedule.
The sunrise was awesome, i have some great pics. In case people want to know, all of the red lights after sunset, are Canadian windmills.

This is an adorable home with timeless and some modern touches. We stayed here as a home base in Paradise, to easily drive to Taquamenon falls and to see the bear ranch. The location was great. The serene private setting was just what we wanted. Waking up to the view of the lake was amazing. Be aware that there is no safe way down to the sand from the yard. The firepit was nice. We were able to walk up to a restaurant (though it is on a busy road). Overall a very good stay!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful week adventuring in the UP and it was made even more memorable by this beautiful cabin. Such a treat! We enjoyed waking up to the sunrises, hearing the waves crash on the rocks below, roasting marshmallows on the fire pit and playing games while cozied up on the big sectional. The property was clean, had everything we needed and the host was a great communicator.

First time in the UP and we relaxed annoyed the view , but also mixed in the sites. Was a great home-base to go to Mackinaw Island, Pictured rocks, Oswald Bear Ranch, Shipwreck Museum and Taquanemon Falls.

Camp Gichi Gummi was an awesome place to spend our vacation. Cabin was clean, cozy and very comfortable. Cooked many breakfasts and dinners in the kitchen which has almost everything we needed. But the porch was the star of the week. This is where many relaxing hours were spent reading, doing crossword puzzles and sipping our morning coffee as the waves of Superior lapped the shoreline. Evening campfires by the firepit were momorable and restful sleep came easy after our days in the UP. Beds were very comfortable. We would love to come back to this piece of Paradise again.

We had an amazing time. The house is cute and comfortable. The views of Lake Superior are beautiful. The house was a great "home base" for many things in the eastern UP. We hope to be back. There is so much to explore. We were all sad to leave this place. We could have sat on the deck overlooking the lake for a long time. Great place to view stars and the moon rising! The house is very cute with an amazing lakefront view from deck. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We made great use of the outdoor firepit while enjoying the view and having fun with friends. We loved the place and the location. It was clean and had everything we needed to make some meals. During our stay we visited the falls, a couple lighthouses, the big spring, and pictured rocks. Loved our time here!

This was a great setting for a much-needed weekend away with friends. The deck was a perfect place to enjoy the sunrise as well as relax after dinner, and we enjoyed being able to cook and have meals together and also warm up by the fireplace.
