We had a great time at our stay! Trey responded quickly and answered all questions I had. The property is absolutely beautiful! We had 18 stay and it was plenty of room! Thank you so much for letting us enjoy this place and make memories! We would definitely come back!

The lake is lovely, the fire pit is great. 4 bedrooms each with in-suite bathrooms? Plus a 6 kid bunkhouse with it's own bathroom? It's just a great set up in a pretty place.

There were 8 of us. Plenty of actual beds and bathrooms! Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils & dishes. Everything was clean. Checkout & check-in had accurate & easy to follow directions. The pictures are accurate. The sunrise & sunset was spectacular.

Absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way. We had a large group with various age groups and the lake, lodge and provided amenities made everyone feel welcome and entertained. From fishing, to kayaking, outdoor games, campfire conversations and hiking just 30 minutes away, this place has everything for a memorable time. Hoping to make this an annual place we visit. The elk are mesmerizing.

The property is beautiful, quiet, serene. Perfect for private lake side memories. The fish nibble which was weird so we drove to robbers cave state park which is also nice for a state park. Didnt kayak due to wasps. Next time know to bring ours.
The house 5 bedrooms is awesome with a bathroom for each bedroom & four bedrooms with doors directly outside. We had a gnat & fly issue upon arrive but bleach in the kitchen drain helped the gnats. Someone had cooked in the crockpot so the smell at first was over whelming but we just put the crockpot in the laundry room. All in all a safe, beautiful, comfortable place to truly relax.
Thank you again for the great memories

Absolutely wonderful!!!
Our family was able to enjoy each other’s company in such a peaceful location!! It was beautiful!! The wasps were challenging and a step to the front porch would be useful for us oldies!! Other than that we are looking forward to booking again. You just do not realize how peaceful family can be in such a private space with enough separation that you feel like you are in your own hotel! The foreman was helpful, the house is stocked with amenities… and the views are simply stunning! Would definitely recommend this spot for families!! We had the best time!! Thank you so very much!!

Perfect location for multiple family Easter gathering!
We were in a bind after we could not get into our usual Robbers Cave cabins for Easter weekend. We could not have found a better solution than Bear Mountain Ranch. The lodging was clean and perfect for adults and children alike. Nice to be out in the country but with modern amenities like well-appointed kitchen, private bathrooms in every bedroom, and washer and dryer!
The lake is beautiful and my 8 year-old niece exclaiming “I caught a fish!” was just the best. Plenty of hiking, water activities, or just sitting by the fire pit located right on the lake. Property is quiet and wildlife is plentiful (bring your binoculars!).
We felt like we were well-informed of the nature of the property (it is an active, gated game farm), the “rules” for its use, and the directions for getting to the lodge. I don’t know that I have ever received such detailed information prior to arrival at a rental and it was much appreciated – thanks Trey! We have already booked for the same time next year – highly recommend!

Renters Beware
I am writing this review as I couldn’t stand the thought that someone else had to go through what we did without advanced warning.
We have spent over a decade visiting Beavers Bend in Eastern Oklahoma. It is gorgeous countryside. We wanted to try something new and decided on Robbers Cave. We have children and like having our own place vs. staying in a hotel. I found Bear Mountain Ranch on VRBO, and it looked perfect. Boy, was I wrong.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful property with nice amenities, but if you have remotely talkative kids, find another place to stay. Be prepared that there is no signage directing you to which of the buildings is yours. Also, a foreman resides on the property, with the largest room (laid out to accommodate children) sharing a wall with his living space (assumed bedroom). He never introduced himself or showed his face; although you could hear him in the garage.
They post that quiet hours start at 10:00 PM. These are taken very seriously, and if you make any noise, you’ll receive a text, VRBO chat, and an email from the property manager (not the foreman next door) advising you to “quiet” down immediately. We did as we were asked and went about our stay. The next day we visited Robbers Cave and, upon our arrival home, were welcomed to multiple gunshots with a .22 caliber gun within close proximity to us. The shots were not directed at us but very near us. We decided we were no longer welcome and ended our spring break vacation a day early.
You should also be aware that the wifi was maxed on the second day of our stay, so no TV or electronic devices that did not have cellular service.
Please be cautious when booking your stay. There are two gates to keep others out, but they also keep you in.
UPDATE: The property manager refunded our stay. The above details remain unchanged.

Absolutely incredible property
This place is just plain awesome, we had a big family get together this weekend and everybody had a great time, from the adults enjoying the views and peacefulness to the kids catching fish off the dock. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The property manager and ranch boss were great to work with and very helpful.
I highly recommend this place and we will definitely be coming back!

Quiet Time
The property and the views were amazing! The house was everything we wanted with each bedroom having their own bathroom but the bedroom with the 6 beds in it has an adjoining wall to the foreman. We took 6 boys on vacation with us and the foreman requires quiet time after 10pm and with any kids in that room it is next to impossible for them to have a good time and still be quiet enough for the foreman (we had a noise complaint every night we was there except the last night).

Great, but has caveats
Pros:
- Inside: Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are nice, kitchen is stocked for the most part (could use a crockpot and larger pans), AC worked well, and it just felt relaxing
- Outside: Saw elk and deer, very starry nights, amazing views, PLENTY to water activity (3 kayaks, 2-person boat, inflatables, etc), property was cool to drive through, and did catch small bluegill.
- Trey had great communication!!
Cons (and please read conclusion):
- A bunch of flies were in 2 of the bathroom toilets and I had to kill 30+ before not being bothered by the few left.
- Wasps and Hornets around the shaded seating. We killed some.
- Fish will bite you. I would say nip, but imagine a sharp pinch that in a couple cases left a welt. Each person had it happen to them about every 10-15 minutes. Some people didn't want to get in
-This goes along with the other point. After arriving, we found out the pond filled with water in 2020 and was freshly stocked. So fishing wasn't much fun. But it's these masses of baby fish with no predators that are biting.
- The pictures are a little deceiving. The rental is more like a duplex with the foreman staying in the other portion. There is a house across the bridge right off the path. Now idea how often people stay in that house, but there were people there during our stay. They did not interfere with our stay, we just could hear them talking outside, so we knew they could hear us too.
- All of the bedrooms face a portion of the driveway. There were multiple nights that the foreman would drive up this portion of the driveway between midnight and 3AM and wake some people up from his headlights in the windows. He does have the option to drive a different route.
- We ran out of internet. We did stream Netflix, Youtube, and played some online games, but had no idea running out of internet was a possibility with 3 days left in our stay.
These cons can be fixed. If the place is empty for awhile, it can be spot checked, wasps and hornets killed and nests sprayed, biting fish is going to take some years to have predators, state in the description you might not be alone on the property. I communicated this with Trey after the fact and he was very apologetic and I don't doubt he would have fixed it had we not already. They are working on getting StarLink for internet. I might not stay here again in the next year or 2, but after the fish get bigger, I would give it another try. Thanks for letting us stay, we do really appreciate it!
