The apartment was superb, we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. It had the most stunning terrace overlooking the Adriatic sea. We would have bit of breakfast and coffee here each morning, sunbathing on the loungers and late morning we would head for a swim on the nearest beach which is only a few minutes walk awat. Restaurants and bars are within 100 meters and Trogir by boat is just gorgeous with taxis boats going from the end of the road.

We had an amazing stay at Apartment Paulina in July 2024. The terrace and views are just stunning. We spent so much time there and was just amazing views and sun all day. Apartment has everything we could have needed and more. Lovely beds, great kitchen, excellent Wi-Fi , air con, Netflix, games etc. great to have washing machine also. The beach is a 3 min walk , with nearest restaurant, Marineo , great pizzas and La vela, really nice also. A few more minutes walk along the beach which is so safe are several more cafes, bars restaurants, we ate at Leonardo,s , Rarita, TOC, Ciao Ciao, all brilliant. Got the water taxi to Trogir a few times from the beach , a brilliant service and what a fab way to see this beautiful place. 5 euros each way, goes every hour from 5 pm to 10pm. The most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time and even with 2 teenagers , was plenty for them to do. Alison was so helpful with everything before and during our stay. We will be back for sure, so much more to see and do in this wonderful place.

This little apartment is only a short walk to a really lovely beach with nice small white pebbles and wonderful swimming. Wear water shoes to walk into water! There are lots of great restaurants that are close by. Alison gave some great recommendations. There is free parking at the premises. The balcony is large and so lovely in the sun and in the evening as well. Beautiful view of the water and neighboring island. The apartment was clean and had all the useful things needed like iron, kitchen utensils/spices, towels, etc. The building itself is a little run-down, but the apartment is clean and comfortable. Don't leave the doors windows open at night because there are mosquitos! The air conditioning work great!! We had a fun time in this area as this location is close to lots of activities/places including the national parks, Togir, Split, boat tours, etc. David, the manager, met us and helped us find the place and was very kind and helpful. Thank you!

Balcony is a real asset
Compact but great apartment. The amazing terrace is a real asset with a great view, offering extra space. The apartment is close to a small beach and is within walking distance to the busier beach area where there’s a decent choice of bars and restaurants, as well as a water taxi to Trogir.
We were super impressed with all communication with Alison or David before and during our stay.

A trip to remember - great apartment.
A wonderful holiday in a beautiful part of the world! We rented a couple of Alison's apartments We stayed in Nina, Anna, Christina and Paulina as all the family wanted to experience what this part of the world offered. Overall Croatia is a wonderful place and a place we will return too. All the family enjoyed the trip - there is so much to see and do. We loved Apartment Nina, it is very spacious and we especially how quiet the area and apartment were. We experienced as much of Croatia that we could in the week we were there. Alison advised us to see Krka park and it did not disappoint, we stayed as long as we could there, it was so peaceful and being surrounded by it's natural beauty was nothing short of breathtaking. The weather was very good and we had everything we needed in the apartment for a truly wonderful stay. We loved it and are planning a return trip later this year. Thanks Alison

stunning apartments and area
We had a wonderful stay in this property, we rented two of Alison's properties, Paulina and Nina.. Very easy to reach Alison at any stage and the apartments were exactly as described - very is there for a holiday stay. The smart tv was a bonus for movie nights with our friends, plus there's a free netflix account for guests use in Paulina.. The terrace is to die for with unbelievable views of the sea and mountain.
We had so much fun in Croatia, we explored all the medieval sights and went Quad Biking another day which is great - we loved it! And we'll be back...

We fell in love with Croatia - excellent apartment
We rented two of Alison's apartments - Paulina and Ellie as we had a family celebration. The apartments we really clean, well equipped and being next door to each other meant we had our privacy as well as the convenience of being close by for dinners etc.
Alison was great and booked us a restaurant in Trogir for my Mam's 60th. We ate in TRS and it was the perfect place for it, the courtyard is surrounded by grape vines and beautiful decor.
The apartment is in an excellent location and it's walking distance to all amenities. The beach is about a 3 minute walk. We will most likely return and would recommend this place (area and apartments) to others.
Thanks for a great stay.

Stunning Views and Wonderful Apartment
Overall we recommend this apartment for it's location and the FAB large terrace with stunning views.
We had a wonderful stay in Penthouse Paulina. We have stayed in one of Alison's apartments before and looked forward to experiencing another part of Ciovo island. The view from Paulina is truly unbelievable, even better than the pics, plus it is HUGE!! Two loungers and a large table with chairs.
The apartment has everything you need for an enjoyable stay, all mod cons, well equipped, dvd's, games etc.
We will be back again. Thanks again to Alison and the rest of the team....

Very comfortable, everything you need!
I have been to Croatia for the last 4 years and have been a returning customer of ARC for the last 3 years. We were a group of 2 couples, no children and we stayed in apartment Paulina in early October for 1 week. The apartment is as pictured, very clean, well stocked with kitchen essentials and all mod cons, excellent wifi, smart tv and very comfortable to stay in. The balcony is a great feature as we were not in such a rush to go to the beach to sunbathe when we could lie out on the balcony with plenty of privacy and sun. However, the beach is beautiful and is less than a 5 minute stroll so we enjoyed relaxing there occasionally. The beach restaurants are a nice place to go for lunch, we went to Leonardo’s restaurant a lot for dinner and also went into the local old town of Trogir for it’s charm. There is a beautiful coastal walk with swim areas about 15 minutes behind the apartment which we walked regularly as the scenery and residential area is breathtaking. There is so much to explore in this region and Okrug is a great location to use as a base.
I have already booked with ARC for June 2019 where I intend to sail to Montenegro after my stay in Okrug.

Perfect location, great apartment with terrace
This was a stunning, airy and well equipped apartment just a few minutes stroll from a fairly quiet beach. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we were welcomed warmly on arrival.
We had a wonderful week.here, We ate out each evening - there was a good choice of local restaurants but on four nights we took the water taxi to Trogir. Trogir was lovely - a maze of tiny streets filled with cafes and restaurants and great ice cream shops!
I highly recommend booking a sea kayaking trip with Falco tours based in Trogir (find them on the internet or ask at Tourist office). We had a full day trip kayaking 7 km to a nearby island and back. The kayaks and other equipment were very good, our guides were highly experienced and all necessary safety equipment was provided.
I would recommend this apartment if you want a peaceful holiday in a pleasant resort surrounded by other similar-minded holidaymakers. Although there were plenty of lively bars (if you wanted them) there was no evidence of drunkeness or bad behaviour.
This is a great choice if you do not want to hire a car as it is only a 20 minute taxi ride from Split airport and the water taxi to Trogir runs every 30 minutes and is cheap.

Perfect Spot to Explore, Very Comfortable Property
This was our second stay at Penthouse Paulina. Another great stay in a place we think we'll come back to again and again. Alison was always prompt to reply to any queries we had and even helped us plan some of our trip on each stay. She arranged a pick up from the airport for us with an excellent taxi firm, who we then used for a travelling further a field.
The apartment has all you need for an enjoyable stay, fully equipped kitchen, stocked with spices, spacious bedrooms and a comfy living area.
The feature of this property has to be the balcony - stunning views of the Adriatic and lovely loungers to relax on. We had our breakfast every morning before heading off for an adventure.
Alison and her team have left books, CD's and DVD's to use as well as a ton of games - these were a lifesaver on the one rainy day we had. The kids were happy. It's also nice to see that the TV has been upgraded to a Smart TV and we could watch movies on the free guest Netflix account. The wifi was excellent.
Thanks again for a great stay - we know we'll return for a third time!

Not as described .... depresing apartment in a depressing building. Needs thorough refurbishment.
Penthouse Paulina - Bookers Beware!
We booked for 11 nights but left after 3. The owner offered alternatives but to be frank if this is representative of the standards of accommodation they describe as luxury then it's a "no thank you!" from us.
We are experienced travellers including extensively throughout Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, France) ranging from B&B's to 5 star hotels so I feel qualified to pass an opinion on what constitutes luxury, acceptable and not acceptable in terms of standards of accommodation.
This apartment 8B in my view is "not acceptable" and does not warrant even a 2 star rating in it's current state.... a model example of "over promising and under delivering".
I don't feel it is beyond redemption and with some care and attention and some modest investment I believe the accommodation could be capable of reaching a 2 or maybe even 3 star level.
We did eventually find a previous review of apartment 8B (Paulina) dating back to 2012 which raises many of the same issues we found yet it seems in the six years since then nothing has changed.
The bathroom requires modernisation and the shower in particular should be replaced .... it's a horrible experience. There are other issues such as uncomfortable beds and the general drab appearance of the building and surrounding area.
Not a good first experience of Croatia but we managed to find alternative modern and reasonably priced accommodation not too far away which in the end salvaged our Croatian holiday or at least the last week of it.
I am not generally one for posting negative comments on websites but on this occasion I feel that if I can spare anyone else from wasting their money on this apartment then I should do so.

Great spot for lasting or adventuring from
Nice clean apartment about 10 minutes walk from the ferry drop point at the beach up a small hill. Apartment well furnished and clean on top floor facing hills no direct view of sea from living room but nice view from balcony across bay. If you want a day on a beach with cafes restaurants bars close by then the beach 10 minutes walk away is ideal. If you want peace tranquility and clear waters for snorkelling walk a kilometre or so up the coast, take a water taxi or a car and you find beautiful deserted bays. It’s a quick ferry ride to Trogir which is great for a wander round the old streets. Take a car ride up and down the coast on the main land or up into the mountains and you are met everywhere with a good Croatian welcome and hospitality. The communication with Alison is excellent all amenities supermarket etc are 10 minutes walk up the hill, leonardo’s restaurant always busy try the under the bell traditional dishes as well as their great pizza.
.for taxis and trips we used the little travel agent next to the super market really helpful. If your not driving book a cab to the apartment from the airport as the Split bus takes you away from the Civio though you can use the ferries to get back which is a nice way to arrive at your destination.

Lovely views and balcony area to relax in the sun
The apartment is nicely located a short walk from the main town. All the features you need and very clean.
Easy access down to the beach and local bars. Some nice places to eat and drink, though the main beach was too busy for us during the day.
Being on the top floor you need to be prepared to carry luggage up a few flights of stairs, but the views are well worth the effort.
It was our first time to Croatia, but won't be our last

Fantastic penthouse apartment!!
I had an amazing week holiday in Croatia, staying at Paulina on Ciovo island. The apartment was second to none, fully equiped with all mod cons and furnished to a very high standard. The large balcony was superb!! The view over the sea was amazing! I captured some beautiful sunsets on camera of the mesmerising views! Lying on the sun loungers looking out over the area and sea is one of my favourite memories from the holiday. The beach and restaurants are a very short walk from the apartment, its in a fantastic location! I would highly recommend a stay in this property and a holiday in Ciovo Island. Trogir is a 15 minute boat trip away and Split and airport 20minute drive! Perfect holiday!!

Dream Holiday - Excellent Apartment & Location
We are just back from a fantastic week on Ciovo island. Penthouse Paulina is a beautiful apartment with the most stunning view of the sea. The beach is minutes away and all amenities are close by. We ate in Leonardos on many occasions as per Alison's suggestion - it has an extensive menu which kept everyone happy including the kids :)
We visited Krka park and we all did the Quad Biking, which was loads of fun. Krka was a dream and I could have stayed longer - very peaceful and quite literally took my breath away.
Thanks Alison for a great stay - we will be returning in the future.

Croatia is stunning, great location and apartment
We had a great time in the penthouse apartment. The photos don't do it justice. It's a great location, quiet, yet a 5 minute walk to the main beach at Okrug, with its many beach bars and restuarants. Watching the sunset over the bay from the Terrace, with the smells of early evening cooking wafting in the air, and the sounds of the distant beach, was idyllic. You can see the local beach from the terrace, which is a two minute stroll down from the apartment. The welcome pack and advice on local restuarants were a nice touch and on the button. We tried The End in Trogir (try the grilled sea wolf !), and both Villa Katerina and Mali Raj (mixed grill for two is divine) in Okrug. All were superb.
I would love to return soon, and would definitely return to the apartment. The boat from Okrug takes 20 minutes and is a far better way to travel in, very picturesque as you arrive in Trogir. There were lots of great day trip options. We did Krka falls which are incredible, and also hired a boat for a day (70euros) and swam in secluded bays, stopping off at beach bars and restaurants around the island. It felt like paradise. Split was a great day out and a 30 minute boat trip away(2 euros) from satine on the other side of the island.
We'll be back - thanks Alison

Good location in need of modernization
The good:
From the first contact attempt, Alison has been ever so quick to respond and answer any question we have had.
The location of the apartment was 5 minutes’ walk to the beach (once you identify the most direct routes) and there are a couple of restaurants just down the road. The other restaurants were not too far to walk to (even with a 5 year old), again, after you are familiar enough with the 3 optional roads.
The air condition system in the living room kept the apartment, including the 2 bedrooms, well cooled.
The supermarket just down the road was handy for grabbing water / milk / beer etc. (and it does take credit cards, which is NOT obvious, as we have found out quite quickly).
Kitchen was equipped for cooking and eating in, which we did do on a couple of nights.
Washing machine was also useful for washing beach towels.
The not so good:
While the apartment is comfortable, we felt it could really use some TLC and update.
The shower is very small and creaky, with exposed wires seen from the ceiling of the bathroom.
The kitchen sink tap was so loose it could only be used with 2 hands, one holding the faucet and the other moving the tap.
While we appreciate this is a self-catering apartment, we found the lack of cleaning equipment (even a j-cloth and bin bags) a bit remiss - as it should be in the interest of the owner / managing company to keep the place clean. Arriving by plane means we are limited, as it is, with the amount of luggage we can carry. Spending 10 days in the apartment (with a young child) meant we did want to do some cleaning every now and again. However, it was expected for us to take care of purchasing cleaning materials; fine if you are staying a month or two but not really for a short stay. This is something that we have been provided with on every other holiday apartment rental we have had.
The TV in the apartment was really quite out of date and lacked an HDMI port to connect any of our own devices (ie a tablet). The satellite box does not broadcast any English channels as far as we managed to see so we simply so we did not use the TV.
The welcome manual really needs an update - we were looking to hire a car and the info in it contains information from 2007... so it has been a while since it has been put together. There was a distinct lack of information about practical issues such as which bins to use, how to recycle or return bottles, how to use the TV system, etc.

Wonderful holiday in fabulous apartment
We have had another fabulous two weeks on Ciovo in this wonderful, perfectly situated spacious apartment overlooking the sea. It was great to visit all the familiar places we love, like the market in Trogir, local restaurants, beaches etc. This year we spent a couple of days on Brac to explore the Island, we took the car ferry from Split which is easy and rented an apartment in Sutivan. Brac is beautiful and there are lots of lovely villages, harbours and bays to explore. Bol was very pretty but quite busy on the beach. Marina beach just up from Trogir along the coast is well worth a visit the water is clear and good for snorkeling. We visited Krka Park again but this time took the boat from Skradin to the water falls then drove to Roski Slap and walked up the 616 steps to the cave and top, hard work but well worth it! We drove to Omis and hired kayaks at Omis Adventure on the river, the scenery is stunning along the river with impressive gorges and lots of wildlife. We had some delicious meals, we dined at TRS in Trogir the food was amazing. The local restaurants in Okrug Gornji are great, Leonardos is lovely and we highly recommend SrDela, the food is delicious and the staff so friendly. Many thanks again to Alison for her lovely warm welcome and all the help and information she gave us to make our holiday one of our best yet. See you next year!!

Lovely apartment, we had a fantastic stay
This is a really attractive apartment with a beautiful view and lots of lovely original art on the walls. The balcony is HUGE!
The apartment was clean and well-kept with a good bathroom and nice powerful shower. The wifi signal was excellent too.
There were lots of nice touches, like books and dvd's and plenty of utensils.
The apartment is only 5 minutes walk from the nearest beach, which is very picturesque and unspoiled. (It's stony, rather than sandy, so bring crocs/rubber shoes)
The manager went out of her way to be helpful, organising our taxis to and from the airport and gave great recommendations for restaurants, shops and beaches.
I would highly recommend this apartment to families, couples and groups.

This beautifully spacious holiday apartment exceeded all expectations. We have two children aged 6-16 and there was plenty of space for all of us. Everything we needed was in the apartment from a washing machine to fans in the rooms, which we certainly needed in the evenings, sun loungers and everything you could wish for in a kitchen. The location was perfect with wonderful views across a small bay and beach which we found was great for an early evening dip. During the day you can jump into the sea from small jettys dotted along the coastline. Great for adventurous kids ! This was all a five minute walk away. We walked everywhere which wasn't a problem at all. The local beach resort was a fifteen minute slow walk but very enjoyable whatever time of day we did it. We would set off in the morning for a day out and walk to the main town. Here was a fab beach with inflatables for the children and dozens of classy bars restaurants and shops. You can hop on a small ferry here and take the 15 minute boat trip to beautiful Trogir town, full of history, restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. We did this on a few occasions in the evening and sampled Croatian music and dancing. We caught the bus to the city of Split. Worth a visit but very busy at the bus station with back packers. In all I would highly recommend this apartment, location and holiday destination. We had one of our best ever holidays here and I am sure we will return one day. On another note we found the whole area very cheap to eat out, drink and shop for food. Ice-creams for the kids worked out around 50p and a pint of beer was less than a pound. There is absolutely loads to do and see in this part of Croatia and not too far from the airport but far enough. We had never visited the country before. The landscape is breathtaking and the Croatian people very welcoming. Well done Alison for offering your lovely holiday home in such a perfect holiday location.

We stayed in Penthouse Paulina apartment for two weeks. The apartment was excellent; modern, well equipped and clean!
Trogir is a beautiful town and we spent some evenings there. It has a huge number of restaurants and we tried a few of the ones that were listed in the “guide” in the apartment. They were all excellent. Transport to Trogir is either by taxi (5-0 minutes, 100 Kuna) or by boat (25 minutes, 15 Kuna/person).
We also had a few lunches and dinners at Konoba Rarita (recently renamed from Konoba Korniza) which is located a few minutes walk from the apartment. They served excellent food and provided good service. Highly recommended!
We rented a car for a few days and visited Split (old town), Omis and Krka waterfalls. Krka Waterfalls was a fantastic place and should be considered as a must for everybody to visit.
Croatia, Ciovo, and Alison's apartments are excellent choices for a relaxing summer holiday!
Thanks!

We have stayed in Alison's gorgeous apartment before, we fell in love with Ciovo and decided to come back in 2017.
The location of Penthouse Paulina is perfect - you can walk to the beach, restaurants, amenities etc. The pictures are great but don't do it justice. The view from the apartment is STUNNING. We would chill out here in the morning, take a swim in the afternoon and then sip a glass of wine on the terrace and watch the sun set. Really peaceful, beautiful and quiet.
Split has so many things to offer. Alison told us she finds new things to do after 13 years of holidaying here and we well believe it. The locals are friendly and accommodating - our child had a tooth ache and one of the staff in the local restaurant, Leonardos, drove us to the dentist.
Overall we had another great trip and we will most definitely stay at Penthouse Paulina again. Thanks!

We return to Ciovo every year now for at least one week (some Summers much more). Last year we stayed in this apartment which is managed by the same operator as we always use. This particular apartment is excellent with a magnificent balcony, almost 25 sq. metres, overlooking the sea. It was every bit as good as any apartment we have stayed in on the island and is very conveniently located, near main beach and water taxi service (about 10 minute stroll away). There is also a beach nearer the apartment (about 3 to 4 minutes stroll away). Both beaches have lovely waterside cafes/restaurants and bars, as well as sun loungers/umbrellas.
The atmosphere is extremely relaxed and the locals are very friendly and always willing to please. They seem to go out of their way to try to make your holiday as great as possible.
As usual our holiday was great and we highly recommend the location and the service provided by the manager Alison and all the rest of the team.
We have told many of our friends and relatives about this place and many of them have visited also.
We only ever got positive feedback from them, which is a recommendation in itself.

Dear Alison.
We stayed at the Anna apartment on the 6th August , well what can we say about Okrug? That it was a fantastic place to stay and we have discovered a little gem of a place!
The apartment was clean and comfortable and everything was in there to cater to our needs.
We had some lovely trips out to Trogir, Split and Krka national park, we just didn't have enough time to do anymore!
We will most defiantly be back next year but hopefully for two weeks!
Thank you Alison for being so informative and helpful.
Nicola Kemp and family.

The apartment is situated in such a peaceful part of Okrug Gornji with stunning views from the balcony. The apartment is spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Alison was extremely helpful before and during our stay and gave great advice on places to visit, restaurants etc. We went to several local beaches our favourites being in Okrug Donji and our local beach just down the road. We caught the ferry from Trogir harbour and went to Drvenik Veli and explored the Blue Lagoon which is fabulous for swimming and snorkelling. Sibenik was very pretty and we had lunch at the monastery garden restaurant which is such a perfect setting. We recommend the family run vineyard of Vina Rak, just outside of Sibenik, where we were shown how the wine is made, looked round the distillery etc, had wine tasting and bought some delicious wines! Trogir is a beautiful old town, take the water taxi its a lovely trip and saves driving. Seek out Monika restaurant in Trogir its delicious and the lunch menu very good. For local food try Leonardos, the staff are so friendly and the food is superb. We bought some lovely fresh fish, fruit and vegetables from the market in Trogir too. We visited Krka National Park which is a must see, its absolutely stunning and one ticket will get you in at all entry locations in a day. Split old town is worth a visit to see the Diocletians Palace and browse the market stalls. All in all a wonderful two weeks and we can't wait to return again. Thanks Alison.

Excellent apartment within a very short walking distance of an unspoilt beach. The flat was very well equipped and the view from the balcony was stunning. It is well suited to a family of four. Alison was fantastic throughout and very helpful with all our questions. The location is truly lovely - we walked to Trogir but it is very easy to catch a water taxi. The organised boat trips are excellent and there are good choices of bars and restaurants along the beach front. Quiet location - we enjoyed exploring a large part of the island by foot. Remember to bring cash for the local taxes you will need to pay on arrival and bear in mind that you will have to carry bags upstairs as there is no lift. The local supermarkets were well stocked so shopping was easy. We were able to park the car outside the flat. The whole area is definitely worth exploring.
