About this apartment rental
A magnificent 18th century palace on a quiet street in the beautiful, and now chic and trendy Marais District of Paris, offers a special apartment for fortunate guests. Enter through a high portal into a quiet and beautiful courtyard lined with boxed Magnolias. Then enter through a private door directly into the apartment. The light from the courtyard enters the apartment, but cunning glass French doors prevent any prying eyes from seeing inside, while the insiders have an unobstructed view of the courtyard. The large entry hall, lined with 18th century stone is still modern and welcoming, with planted lemon trees, interesting antiques from the owners' travels, and attractive paintings. Add to this every modern comfort. The apartment is on two floors with two separate living rooms. There are two master bedrooms on the entry floor each with its own modern bathroom, and one double and one with two twin beds, and its own sitting area, on the lower floor. The two floors are separated by a charming spiral staircase. There is a beautiful dining room which seats 10 easily, a nice kitchen, and much more.
It is located in one of Parisians' most favored locations, the Marais. From the mid-thirteenth century, the Marais became one of the most important aristocratic areas of Paris. By World War II the Marais had declined, but a major effort was made beginning in the 1950's to renovate the area. The main palaces and mansions were restored and turned into museums: the Picasso Museum, the Paris Historical Museum and the Cognac-Jay Museum are now prominent and worthy of a visit. In turn, this building has been returned to its former glory by an eminent designer/developer and a very few privileged owners have apartments in it. The Georges Pompidou Museum, France's national Museum of Modern Art and one of the world's most important cultural institutions, was built on the western edge of the Marais. Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano were the architects of this architecturally revolutionary building. The Marais has become incredibly chic and you will find trendy shops, countless art galleries, and all varieties of restaurants and cafes. You can shop away and dine very well between museum visits!
The Pompidou, Picasso, Carnavelet Museums, the Place de Voges, The Seine, the Cathedral of Notre Dame are a 10 mn walk. You will also find the Opera not far away. Two metros are less than a 4 minute walk, RER a 7 minute walk, 2 bus stops within 2 Minutes.
Please note there are no pets allowed.

Room for All
We all loved the property and appreciate the ample space to relax after seeing all the sights. Our family of 7 spanned from 70-15 and the property fit everyone’s needs. We kept grandparents upstairs so that they did not have to navigate stairs. We really appreciated Michele meeting us at the apartment and showing us how to use everything in a cheerful and welcoming way. Also appreciated her giving us guidance on the neighborhood. Grocery store was right around the corner. We enjoyed the key pad entrance into the property as we never had to worry about a key and if members of the group wanted to come back early there was no worry! We would certainly stay at this property again.

Wonderful property/great location
This property had great separation of space. Our son and daughter -in law had their own private space downstairs and my husband and daughter had our own private spaces upstairs. The only downside was that the bathrooms and downstairs had some moisture issues. Hopefully the owners will address those soon so that others can enjoy the terrific location. We were able to access three different Metro stations form this location, which made siteseeing super easy.
Loved it!

Beautiful old Villa with exposed stone and very nice to look at, however very difficult to live in. The downstairs very difficult to navigate the circular stairwell but once there the rooms were comfortable and bathroom usable. The upstairs bedrooms were very small and offered little privacy. Bathroom in the Master was ok but the other one meant exiting your room and going thru the entire house to get to it. Sitting area small but usable.....the kitchen .....well we did not use it really other than washing the glasses in dishwasher .....we presume that all needed items might be in this area.....but no order to it nor instructions on how one might use some of the ones we might have used. Biggest disappointment was the lack of outside sitting areas.....inside courtyard very nice and offered security but no furniture to use and only drew loud ire of upstairs neighbor when we tried to use it to smoke. The garden area ......nice to visit if you wanted to walk to it......short walk.......but totally useless to renters. No seats and more ire probably if went over there to enjoy a smoke. Have been to Paris a few times and the area is fine.....walkable to local Metro which all should learn how to use as it is the way to travel since the traffic in the city is difficult. This Villa is really suitable for a small family to share but not for the 4 couples that we were part of .....could not really handle us properly. Paris is a magnificent city and we shall return but unfortunately not to Vivaldi.

Paris In Summer
Property was as advertised. Nice accommodation and location, our only issue was the weather which is beyond the owners control. Even with record high temps the property was a little warm but surprisingly still livable on the first floor with the extra fans that were provided, while the lower level was nice and cool. We would definitely recommend this property even with the risk of abnormally hot weather.

OLD WORLD PERFECTION
Six adults spent six wonderful nights at Vivaldi. Beds comfy and linens crisp and clean. Music system well stocked, but string quartet music enhanced our 18th century surroundings. Small kitchen exceeded our needs since we only ate breakfast at home. Fresh pastries and fruit available in less than 5minute walk as early as 6:30 AM.
Awesome clean fast and uncrowded laundromat 5 minute walk too!
Location is perfect for main metro stations and many premier Paris attractions. Quiet neighborhood and flat. A++++++!

Cozy stay in a fun neighborhood with a large group
First of all I would like say that the booking process and check-in was fantastic, seemless. Overall we had a great stay, I loved exploring Rue de Bretagne just a couple blocks from the apartment. The restaurant Le Taxi Jaune, just across the street, was a gem.
We were a group of 8 friends and were very comfortable. The beds are large and the bedding was cozy. Plenty of towels for 8 women. The kitchen is small but we enjoyed a few evenings sitting around the dining table eating cheese.
My only complaint would be that the downstairs was a little musty. Some people are more sensitive to this so It could be an issue or maybe not. Overall having 4 large comfortable beds and 3 bathrooms is hard to find in Paris and it accommodated us well.

Great location fun place to stay
It's hard to find a place in Paris with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, but we found a nice one here! This is in a great location, and it's incredibly clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows are fantastic and the showers are perfect after a long day touring. The dining room allowed us to have a fun meal together as a group and we were able to make a fabulous bouillabaisse in the kitchen. People have written about the challenge of the spiral staircase, but honestly, you'll find those in a number of restuaruants in Paris. One suggestion would be to include a tea towel for washing up the dishes. Thank you for a lovely stay. This was a lot of fun.

Great Location. Upstairs is wonderful. Circular stairs leading to downstarirs was tight and small
The property is great. The upstairs bedrooms and living room are very nice. We had no idea that the only way downstairs was a very small circular stairway that was difficult to go up and down let alone with luggage. And there were ceiling fans for the upstairs bedroom but not overhead for downstairs. The showers were great. Plenty of room and hot water. Could have used more towels. The gentlemen who showed the place is very nice and thorough

Lovely and Spacious Property in Marais- but not in the heat of the summer
We traveled to Paris for a week's vacation with our adult children and their partners. I must state upfront that our experience was shadowed by the heat wave plaguing Paris during our stay and resulted in an uncomfortable experience.
The apartment is large, nicely appointed and could easily accommodate at least 8 individuals in the bedrooms on both floors. The three bathrooms were large for European standards and were appreciated. The sitting areas was pleasant as was the small dining area. All beds were comfortable with multiple pillows.
Items that were not great may be strictly personal preference. With a six night stay, having a second set of towels would have been nice. I did wash towels but found the instruction manual only in French so it was difficult to do (I did figure it out and it worked fine after that). There are no windows to open (with the exception of small air vents over the doors) and only one single door to allow air flow. Though fans were provided (we requested additional), without fresh air it was truly unbearable on the main floor. The lower floor was cooler but dark and somewhat musty without fresh air. For these reasons, I would only recommend this apartment during the more temperate months.
The courtyard is quiet and the private garden is pleasant (no seating) but accessed only from the main street. Cleanliness and preparation were only satisfactory (old soap bars in the showers, floors not very clean, no paper towels or tissues-reimbursement was offered for me purchasing but I didn't bother). I used the dishwasher multiple times but without English instructions it was a guessing game and I wasn't sure which cleaning liquid was correct. I believe clear and concise English instructions, a midweek change of towels, and light cleaning would be valued at a week long stay (cleaning was offered after I asked but I wasn't willing to spend any additional money).
A welcome bottle of wine was provided, thank you, but some coffee pods would have been a really welcomed addition (I went to the grocery but wasn't sure what to buy - good thing I ran into a gentleman who spoke no English but did speak Spanish!)
Overall, the stay met our goal to spend time with our family in a special location. Again, if the weather had been cooler or if we could have opened windows to let in the cooler evening air, it would have been so much nicer.

Great
It was a great place for a group on the move. Perhaps the best part was the attentiveness and responsiveness of Arthur. We had a few follow up questions - even some unrelated to the maison - and he was most helpful. The staircase to the two downstairs bedrooms is narrow and tight. Though we are in our fifties and sixties, that space requires good mobility. It is fine for young people or agile older people. There are two upstairs bedrooms and two baths, so it was spacious and easy. The weather was hot, hot, hot during our stay and there is no AC. Downstairs stayed cool, but upstairs needed fans. We did not do much in the kitchen, other than make coffee and put together a cheese platter; but cooking would be tricky in such a tiny kitchen, but not impossible. When I am in Paris, I am not doing my own cooking at all. The location is great. Loved it and would recommend. It accommodates a group rather well. Would be really good for families or girls/guys trips.

Beautiful quintessentially Parisian apartment in the heart of the city.
The apartment was wonderful and well appointed for our family of 6 adults. The owners were very accommodating and made everything easy. We had one issue with a bathroom, that they immediately addressed and gave us a credit when it could not be repaired. Overall a fantastic experience.

Beautiful and quiet.
Wonderful VRBO. Beautifully decorated apartment in a quiet area. We came from a week in Germany (family of 5 adults) and found a clean laundry mat within about 500 feet. The VRBO management company and the owner were were wonderful and responded quickly to any inquiries.

Cozy, Very Convenient Gem of a Townhouse in the Center of Paris
Just completed a recent stay at the Vivaldi apartment in the northern Marais district of Paris. The 2 level apartment (I call townhouse) has 2 very comfortable bedrooms on each level. One of the first floor bedrooms has its own full bath and the 2 bedrooms downstairs share one. There is one more full bath (with the best shower) upstairs connected to the kitchen/breakfast area. There is also a washer/dryer.
We had 4 to 5 people sleep there over the 6 nights and with friends joining us each morning 9 or 10 people utilizing the eat-in kitchen space for breakfast (the kitchen had everything to make eggs each morning and although small for prepping, everything was supplied to make more than eggs) and the upstairs seating area every evening for wine and cheese before heading out. [We did not hang out downstairs at all except to sleep but there is a full living room area downstairs. The internet does not adequately work anywhere downstairs.] There is an excellent wine store right on the block and a couple more right nearby. There is a "U" Market a 2 minute walk and you can get all essential there.
The apartment is in an excellent location for venturing out. The Pompidou Centre and its metro stop is a short walk south and the Arts & Metiers; Temple and Republique metro stops are all short walks as well. These many metro access points allow you full access to Paris. Everything returns to that area making it easy home at night.
I can only give the Vivaldi 4 stars instead of 5 as there were not enough paper products for a 6 night stay (we purchased more) and we had to borrow an extra trash bag from a neighbor. A plumbing problem was immediately fixed and an unfortunate early incident has led to better welcoming conversations about all of the amenities the Vivaldi has to give.
If you are 3 or 4 couples wanting to enjoy a nice relaxing long weekend in Paris, i recommend the Vivaldi it will only enhance your experience.

Wonderful! Charming, well-appointed and great location!
We spent the Christmas holiday at this wonderful apartment with a family of eight, four adults and four children, and we have nothing but positive things to say! The apartment was easy to locate, had a big pretty red door to a lovely courtyard and we were greeted immediately and we were more than pleased with the amenities upon arrival. The downstairs bedrooms were spacious and well appointed and wonderful for the children and they had plenty of room to play as well. The upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and spacious. We all remarked on how comfortable and warm the bedding was in all the rooms. The bathrooms all had hairdryers, which was an unexpected and welcomed bonus, as well as ample towels and towel warmers. We also found the heat to work well and we did have a few cold days to put it to the test. There was ample closet and storage space. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a wonderful Christmas dinner (albeit no actual oven, just a microwave, but that wasn't really a big deal for us). The dining table easily fit us all and there were plenty of plates and utensils. We had one minor snag when we couldn't figure out how to turn on the washer/dryer, but then found the switch on the wall in the hallway--might be something to note in the house manual. We also loved how quiet the apartment was at all times.
Finally, the location in the Marais is wonderful--easy walking distance from lovely groceries, bakeries and wine shops, as well as bars (we loved the Andy Wahloo--true mixologists) and restaurants. Definitely consider renting this place, as we plan to keep it on our list for the future! Merci and Bon Voyage!

out of homeland but still at home
"We were truly impressed by the feeling that we were at home "chez nous" while staying at Vivaldi. ON top of this good feeling, we had everything we needed, exactly like at home. All appliances were in perfect condition. Heating was "comme il faut". the agency representative was both charming and efficient. The location of Vivaldi is superb. Everything we needed for daily use was nearby. We enjoyed privacy which one does not have in a hotel. We were within the family, and it gave us a wonderful feeling."

Disappointing
My friends and I, a group of 7 retired women, recently spent 7 nights at this property. We often travel as a group and typically stay in a home/apartment that allows us to do some meals "in". While the ad for this property said the kitchen was "functional", it was far from that in our estimation. The kitchen is half the size of a normal galley kitchen. This very small space also included the clothes washer. It did not include a full oven, but merely a small convection oven. There was virtually no available counter space for food preparation. A full bathroom was at the end of the galley kitchen. The kitchen in no way met our reasonable definition of "functional." In addition, two of the bedrooms and one bathroom are in the stone basement of this "palace." The area was not only difficult to climb down into on the narrow spiral wrought iron staircase, but it was very damp. In fact, we found mold growing on the ceilings and some of the walls. The caretaker installed a de-humidifyer upon our arrival so we assume other guests had noticed the dampness prior to our arrival. Worse still, the narrow spiral staircase was the ONLY means of egress from the basement bedrooms. I do not know the laws in France, but this would not likely be a legal rental in the United States. When I mentioned our dissatisfaction to the property manager during our stay, she dismissed my comments stating she had clearly disclosed the conditions of the property. Perhaps she should try using different words in her ad that better convey the property's shortcomings.

As a group of 6 women celebrating our 40th birthdays, this was a great location and lots of space to spread out in the apartment. Beds were comfortable and was spotless clean on arrival. Loved the privacy of the courtyard. Very quiet and we felt quite safe. Area has a lot of great restaurants, cocktail bars and shopping which was perfect. Owners were helpful, reliable and accommodating which was much appreciated! Suggestions for improvement include a new washer/dryer that doesn't take 9 hrs per cycle. The coffee table is vicious on those sharp corners! Consider replacing as a few leg scars have been tattooed on our legs. Basement sleeping is a damp, so a dehumidifier would be a great addition. Overall, a wonderful trip with amazing memories that will last is a lifetime! Thanks for the hospitality!

Commendable Rentals(CR) represents prime real estate properties in highly desirable locations. What we felt sets CR above similar organizations was their immediate and complete resolution of issues that inevitably arise during any weekly rental in foreign countries. Susan Doull's responsiveness reminded us of a family member who was completely dedicated to insuring everything worked out well...the hallmark of a truly reputable and excellently managed organization.
4.5
One star, I would NOT rent again. Great location, but the other info is very misleading. First there is NO A/C in the apartment as advertised. There are NOT two master bedrooms on the entry (first) floor. Bedroom one is enclosed by glass and French doors. Very little privacy with drapes that don’t completely cover the doors. Very little privacy off the main living area. The bedroom is connected to a bathroom with a door that open into a hallway. This shower/bath tub is not even completely enclosed or has a shower curtain, which leads to a wet floor and having to mopping the bathroom floor after every shower. The second bedroom is next to the entrance and again is only separated by a glass door. The second bath is at the opposite end of the apartment through the dining room and kitchen and opens into the kitchen. There are only windows and a doors on one wall of the apartment which prevents poor ventilation. The top floor was very hot.
The spiral staircase to the bottom floor is very narrow and treacherous. The bottom floor has no windows or doors, but is cooler. The bathroom is adequate but has what looks like black mold. Also due to the thick stone walls internet reception is very poor on the bottom floor.
The washer that literally holds one outfit and takes 4 hours to wash. It was a joke.
It was like staying in a youth hostel. If they renovated and updated the place it has the potential to be fantastic.
4.5
Wonderful to have four bedrooms in such a prime location. Circular staircase a bit of a challenge, but we weren't really there much!! A bit hard to reach a local contact when a fuse blew, but all in all, we'd recommend Vivaldi!
4.5
The apt is beautiful and the neighborhood was nice but we were so busy touring the sites of Paris we didn't tour the neighborhood except to get to our destinations. The owners/managers left helpful notes throughout the place that helped us navigate their beautiful home. We didn't have luck getting our clothes dry and a tea kettle might be nice addition to heat water as the microwave was also a bit confusing but neither of those restraints are major. The bedding was upscale, the house was spotless and 6 adults had room to visit each other or find their own cubby. One other note that wasn't a problem for us but could be a concern for others is two bedrooms are down a very steep spiral staircase and there are no windows at that level, otherwise the place is as advertised. Thank you for making our first visit to Paris welcoming and comfortable!

property and house is exactly as described. Pool is small but nice. Fabulous views.

There was 7 people in our party & we all enjoyed the stay very much. There was plenty of space & the place was exactly as it was described & pictured online. Very quiet house w/restaurants/markets nearby.
Due to the strikes in France our timing changed and the staff was extemely accommodating & stepped to help us out on short notice.
I had only two minor suggestions for future visitors (which they were open to) but otherwise everything was great & I'd recommend this house. We'll definitely consider Commendable Renters for our next vacation!

Our group of six completely enjoyed staying in this lovely apartment. With four bedrooms (and eight twins), plus a large dining table and three bathrooms, it is large, comfortable, very quiet, and gives you a sense of its history. We loved our stay!
4.5
Secure entrance just off a bustling street. Great location. Great amenities. Travelled with wife and 5 kids and place was perfect for us. Hosts even gave us a bottle of French wine to enjoy. Would definitely book again and again. Great for large parties, even those with many kids.
