The buffet was good but nothing about the hotel was 5*
Bellboys didn’t even take our luggage in or to the taxi. Simple requests were ignored. Dirty towels remained in the room for the duration of the stay, toilet paper was single ply and like tracing paper. The offerings at the bars were very basic. Pools were all cold, while there were many of them, they were all the same. None were heated.
The kids club was a shack with very basic amenities and next to no security, definitely not somewhere you can leave your child!

+/- Family Room with Sea View in the main building (close to the restaurants) with VERY NICE view. No sun umbrella nor pergola on the terrace = unusable during direct sunlight.
+ Lot of pools to choose from
+/- Close proximity of the decent Aquatica Aquapark (no food and drinks are allowed to bring with - you have to buy everything on site). Aquapark is not big. 2,5hours is sufficient to fully explore it and have fun. You have 10% discount when Porto Bello bracelet is shown.
+ LG smart TV in the rooms with HDMI ports to connect Laptop/iPad and watch your own content
+ Usable Wi-Fi (EU data plan is still better choice)
+ Bring snorkels - there are fish in the sea
+ Running/Jogging possibility along the beach or along the road to the nearest town Kardamaina.
+/- Hotel shop with good selection and cold Starbucks coffee. There is no immediate outside hotel shopping availability. You have to go 3km to the nearest town.
+/- I recommend to request room beside to pool to have proper shade and own sun loungers possibility. It seemed to me there are not enough sun loungers for the amount of guest (so you have to wake up early to put the towel on it - and of course use it during the day. You encounter lot of "reserved" sun loungers with no one using it through the whole day). No one is enforcing hotel rule which forbids block the sun lounger.
+/- Main hotel restaurant has decent international food selection. But we found greek/asian cousine "weird" and unable to chose from. Dinner should start earlier. 7PM is too late. Inexplicably hotel sometimes opens the door for dinner at 6:45PM. So, if you come at 7 sharp you find no free table inside (airconditioned).
- COLD POOLS - only during one day (air was 40 C) it was pleasant to chill and play with the children in the pool. During other days (30-35 degrees and windy weather) the water was cold (our children were shaking during extended stay in the pool - essential tremor). Hotel should invest in the solar panels to have electricity for the pool heating.
- Loud and leaky (water dripping) A/C. One AC unit was weak the other one did not work. Technicians had to repair it twice. Even so it was loud and made strange noise. We were forced to switch it off during the night.
- Full Inclusive gives you drinks in the cups. No bottles, no cans. Fridge is filled irregularly with cans (no Pepsi MAX). So you are forced to buy your own.
- Water bottles are made from very thin plastic, so you spill the water around when opening the bottle for the first time.
- Pool bars open at 11AM. Too late for us.
- Rooms in the main buildings suffers from night music program noise (stops around 22:30) and cigarette smoke smell (in the basement there is hotel staff room where employees are smoking and the smell goes up through the stairs).
- Public hotel restrooms stink
- You often find garbage around the resort and on the beach.
- Hotel beach beds (sun loungers) have BLACK LEATHER cushions. So any inch exposed without towel burns you alive.
- Umbrellas around the pool and beach are small and provides insufficient shade coverage. Pergolas would be much better.
- Family Room has thin doors and no sound insulation between the beds for adults and children. So it is merely just poor optical barrier between to room areas.
- In room bathroom drainage smells badly.
- Windy weather sometimes
- Sea is cold - be prepared for it. Extended stay in it is not pleasant.
- Beach has sand, but the sea entrance has rocks.
- Hotel bins have separated slots for plastic and paper, BUT the bin lids with the appropriate labels are often displaced. So guests have no choice but to mix the waste without separation.

Size of room, tennis court quality, proximity to Kardamina. Front desk staff were very helpful.
Staff at Burger Restaurant were very stressed and made us feel unwelcome. Possibility of late arrival food very poor.

The hotel was lovely with stunning views! So much choice of things to do, from water sports, a water park to many pools and a lovely beach! There was a lovely atmosphere and it never felt busy. The food was amazing with lots of choice throughout the day. We booked a swim up pool room which was the best choice - beautiful views, stunning room with excellent shower facilities and to have a pool right on your balcony to swim in was just so special!
For a holiday destination and one used by lots of people for weddings I couldn’t believe that the bars closed bang on 0000 and that we were constantly told to go back to our rooms by security. The worst being on the day of the wedding when everyone was having a great time we were told we had to leave and go back to rooms at midnight despite the area for the wedding being well away from any rooms so noise wouldn’t have been an issue. people are there for a holiday - you don’t expect to have a curfew. The gym also is very questionable, most equipment doesn’t work.

The big area, near to sea, clean enough
Food not tasty enough - especially meat.

Decent stay at Porto Bello Royal Hotel. Lovely staff, delicious food, original alcohol, live music, several pools. Most of the people come from UK and Western Europe.
Nothing, everything is well done.

The Place is very beautiful and in a very nice area of Kos island
The noice of the airplanes, unfortunately the planes fly over the resort

Great views and the food was very good. It was a good range with different themed nights and at breakfast there was a huge range to choose from. It was always fairly easy to get a sun bed with spare ones if needed by the pools. The beach was super close too.
Although the food was of a high quality and a good range, the cocktails could have been much better. Our room was certainly not 5 star/worth the price at all with stained windows. The staff could've been more friendly and welcoming too.

the swim you pool that we paid extra for was nice
basically everything else, the cutlery cups and plates were generally always dirty, it is advertised as 5 restaurants but one is a general buffet, two are a lunch buffet which you have to book and the others are two “a la cart” dinner restaurants however one is an Italian buffet with basically the same food as the general buffet. the food is terrible and the drinks are even worse. only one type of wine in the entire hotel, some staff for friendly and the others were so rude and very unhelpful. advertised that there was volleyball at 11 daily and no one showed up.

great and very friendly staff. Prime location.
verity of food where everyone can find his favorite
food. cosy rooms. great service
Dirty balcony floor and stair case. room cleaning is
done sometime very late afternoon. Never got my robe changed
for 7 days and bath towels, just forget getting them.
missing amenities such as body lotion, facial cleaning
paper and so on. not sure of this is because of
post-covid effect, but there is lot of airplanes landing
above the hotel during night time which bother a lot.
if you wish to have good night sleep. this was not
the case in my previous stays on this hotel during
summer time.

- staff was very nice and welcoming
- incredible weather every day
- location by the beach was very good
- private swimming pool was the best
- view
- the restaurants by the beach are way better and less crowded than the main restaurant
- the noise coming from the landing aircrafts can be bothering, specially if you want to sleep a bit longer in the morning
- the black-out did let come light in
- cleanliness wasn’t the best

Lovely hotel, staff, greek restaurant on the beach!!!
New building in main restaurant spoils view a bit ( maybe a roof to garden).
Wish beach restaurant open in evening ( was on our first visit)

it was the most Aestheticly beautiful hotel we have ever seen. The food was good and lots of privacy because of many pools.
we didn’t feel welcomed there by the personnel
3.5
The food was good, but as with most all inclusive resorts it does become a bit repetitious after a few days. We went for a wedding and I have to say that the hotel did an amazing job of looking after everyone. We chose a room with a private pool which was lovely to have, although it was quite a walk from the main facilities
Easier access to book the al la carte restuarants on site would have been helpful. Although we were outside of peak season and despite the many pools it was sometimes difficult to find a sunbed - many were alos broken.
4.5
The private atmosphere, The style/decor, The pools, The free tennis, The food and Big variety of drinks. The italian restaurant was extraordinary good.,
Air condition didnt work.

This was a really great complex with a variety of pools that never felt crowded. Access to the beach was easy, and the kids pool, although a bit far away from our particular room, was nice and kept young kids very entertained. The food was great, the staff was uniformly friendly. There were plenty of bar options near enough to pools to keep both parents and kids happy. The resort is really close to the airport, which meant no long cab rides or bus rides.
Our room was a family room, however, you had to walk through the child area to get to the bathroom, and the exit door. There was no way to prevent the exit door from being opened from the inside, which meant that an explorative toddler had no barrier to escape, and we had to be very creative with showers/bedtime. We booked a garden room, and were upgraded to a sea view, which was really beautiful. However, this room was right above the lobby bar area, and it was quite loud until 1030 pm or later. The music was fine, and we managed, but with a young child, it was a little tough to get him to sleep with all the fun happening outside. The upgrade was very nice of them, and we certainly appreciated the view, but I think with small children, it might have been nicer to be in a quieter area of the resort. I would go back, but I will pay a little more attention to the map next time!
Water sports required all kids to be older than 5 to participate - which meant we couldn't go kayaking or paddle boarding, even though we had our own life vest.
4.5
The hotel ground is very nice designed, plenty of swimming pools, access to a private beach, all the staffs are very friendly
None of the pools is heated even the indoor one, it's fairly cold to swim in May. The buffet food is different themed each night, but food are largely repetitive
