Although it is just a short drive to the seafront, we would highly recommend taking the 30 – 45 min leisurely walk so that you can take in all the wonderful things you would otherwise miss in the car, after all you’re on holiday, right? Out the apartment and turn left on the main road heading towards Southsea seafront, a few yards down the road is the beautiful St James Church building, originally constructed in 1841 and rebuilt in 1913. Opposite the road on the right hand side, you will pass Milton Park, a delightful green area with play parks for the children. A few hundred yards down from there at 181 Eastney Road you’ll find Gilberts Confectioners. This sweetshop has been putting smiles on the residence of Portsmouth since opening their doors in 1909, you can just imagine the children heading home from the Church up the road and picking their penny sweets for the Sunday afternoon treat! Why not pop into Gilberts and pick a sweet treat as you carry on your way? Along this stretch of road, you will find all the local amenities you will need as well as the main bus stops to get you around the city. From here heading further South you will be spoilt with more green areas and some stunning architecture, a real mix of old, really old and new. Make sure you look up from time to time – can you spot the gargoyles watching over their property? Once you hit the roundabout you can keep heading south to the seafront and find pitch and putt golf next to one of the best cafes in Southsea, The Tenth Hole. Why not try your swing and the winner buys the cake!? You’ll only need to buy one piece to share when you see the size of the slice! How about taking a right turn at the roundabout instead and heading onto Highland Road and Albert Road for a good 2 to 3 mile stretch of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, an eclectic mix of boutique shops, the beautiful Kings Theatre and the Westwood Rooms (live music venue).
Just a 10 min drive or taxi ride gets you to the Historic Dockyard where you can see the Mary Rose, HMS Victory and HMS Warrior plus a host of other exhibitions and to Gunwharf Quays for outlet shopping, plus more restaurants and bars and a cinema. Also in close proximity, is the Pyramids Centre Swimming Pool and Gym, Southsea Castle, D-Day Museum, Royal Marines Museum, Natural History Museum, Blue Reef Aquarium, Clarence Pier (amusement park), Southsea Common and the Skate Park.
Milton Road has access to the main bus route that travels in and around Portsmouth and Southsea.

Cool apartment that is well equipped and comfortable for a family stay. The location is great and the only challenge was the street parking.

I would highly recommend this property, it a very stylish and clean place to stay and it’s very spacious with everything you could need.
I would definitely come back again, the only negative comment I have is that 2 of the beds were so hard and uncomfortable that the girls woke up with severe back pain, the mattresses need replacing for something much softer.
But it was a wonderful property overall!
