We needed a location where family from DC, Ohio and Florida could converge to celebrate my mom's 75th birthday (happy birthday mom!); The Rustic Red was the perfect choice....roomy enough that we were not in each other's way but cozy enough that we never felt separated.
For those of you who are not used to driving through the mountains, however, do note that the road leading up to the actual cabin is ... "hilly"!

We loved the corn hole and game room set up! Awesome place in the mountains, close to cataloochee!

Place was comfy and had several sleeping options. Driving to the top of the mountain with snow was a little more difficult than anticipated and was no mentioned in the listing.

We enjoyed this cabin. It was comfortable and enjoyable. Accessing the driveway was a little tricky with the mountain roads but overall this was a wonderful place to stay!

Wonderful mountain home high up on the hill with beautiful views. Very comfortable home and pet friendly. Dog bowls and even some dry food was available. Great supply of games as well as a game room.
Only one thing was missing , a toaster! Everything else was great!

We LOVED the weather-How refreshing. We live in Central Florida and its so HOT and muggy. Loved being within driving distance to everything. We visited 2 falls and sliding rock, swam in the rivers (COLD) . There was plenty of room for all of us and we even saw a BEAR above the cabin-SOOOO exciting! My Grandsons had a list of wildlife and we marked them all of them EXCEPT the Moose :))

We had a fabulous time and thoroughly enjoyed your cabin, it’s gorgeous! and every room was so welcoming and home very accommodating! The mtn height wasn’t too bad ( fear of heights) so that was a blessing! The game room was a big hit with our grands and I’ve stayed in many homes in Maggie and have finally found the cabin we’ll stay in from here on. I would rate this one 11 out of 10! We’ll definitely be back! Wanna shout out to Daniel!! Thanks for your help! Can’t wait to come back!

Our family had a great stay at the Rustic Red cabin. The kids had a great time in the game room. Maggie Valley was a great location for a getaway.

The cabin was beautiful and just as it was listed in the posting. The only trouble we had was check in as we were not provided the access information prior to arriving. I had to contact Evolve directly upon arrival to gain access to the cabin. If it had been after hours, I am not sure if we would have been able to access the cabin on that day.

We had a wonderful time. The view and all this house has to offer was more than expected. Make sure you receive some type of check in information (code(s)). Luckily the cleaning lady was there when I arrived and was able to get the key for me. Otherwise, we would have been on the phone trying to reach someone about getting into the house. The driveway has two very sharp turns may be hard for a larger vehicle. The kids (ages 10 & 8) enjoyed the game room. All in all, it was a very nice weekend in a lovely cabin. We would definitely recommend to everyone and will hopefully be returning ourselves.

This is a very nice property and we enjoyed our stay. Everything was in working order with a comfortable bed. The only drawback is the driveway leading up to the property. There are large ruts and potholes with 3 very sharp switchbacks in the drive. Had we not been in a truck it would have been very difficult particularly at night.

The big part of spending time with family is bringing my dog. I can’t imagine leaving him behind. The cabin clean and has everything needed.

The location was perfect the home was very spacious however the master bed room bathroom lighting was very dim at night we had to leave the bathroom door open just so we could see while using that bathroom also the shower was not getting hot for us we figure out that the cold side was hot and hot side was cold. Also the cabin was clean however on the back patio we had to knock down some spider webs that were on the outside of the French doors! However the stay was great beds were comfortable and the game room was a hit with the kids! We will definitely be back!

Birthday Getaway
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful 5 nights at the Rustic Red Cabin in Maggie Valley. We currently live in Wilmington, NC and make it to the mountains 5-6 times a year to get in some hiking. This trip happened to be for her birthday. I also used to live in nearby Asheville, so it’s always nice to meet up with friends when in the area.
The cabin is directly across from Maggie Valley Club and only 5-7 minutes to all of the attractions and restaurants in Maggie Valley. Only 15 minutes to Waynesville, 15 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway, 30 minutes to Cherokee, 40 minutes to Asheville and about 1 hour 15 minutes to Gatlinburg.
Check-in and Check-out was a breeze. There is a coded door lock, so no need to meet anyone to pick up keys or worry about carrying an extra set of keys with you during your stay. As mentioned in the description and past reviews, the driveway is steep and could pose a potential problem during inclement winter weather. Clearly not an issue for our stay in June.
The cabin itself was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. Spacious, decorated nicely, newer living room furniture and TV’s in all the bedrooms. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths was more than we needed for just the 2 of us obviously, but this place could accommodate 10 people easily. It is pet friendly as well should you want to bring your furry friends along.
We spent every morning hiking and got in just over 42 miles total for our 5 day trip. While at the cabin, we enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, indoor wood burning fireplace, large master bedroom with back deck access and mountain views, outdoor grill and outdoor firepit. There is even a game room in the garage with 2 arcade games, a basketball game, cornhole and a 2nd full size refrigerator. Also, a washer and dryer which we used to do a load of laundry our last night to cut down on the things we had to do when we got back home.
When a small issue arose on Saturday night during our stay, Daniel, the owner, was very responsive and made the necessary arrangements to take care of it asap. On top of that, he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and offered to make us reservations for dinner during our remaining days at any restaurant of our choosing.
We took him up on that offer the next day after our hike and grabbed pizza and a round of beer at the local brewery, BearWaters, in Maggie Valley. Beautiful setting right along Jonathan’s Creek. When we went to leave, the waitress told us that Daniel had also had them add a mixed 6pack of their beer for us to take home.
That kind of hospitality and pride in accommodating your guests seems far too hard to find these days. So, if you want to rent a lovely cabin that is near countless area activities, with an owner that truly cares about his guests experiences, then look no further than the Rustic Red Cabin in Maggie Valley. I know we definitely plan visit again.

A Breather in the Smoky Mountains
Four of us, all over 70 and engaged in full-time ministries (teaching, interfaith work, running an outreach center serving the poor), enjoy some r and r. We had a mini-retreat and a peaceful break in routine, thanks to a generous benefactor. The Rustic Red Cabin was a perfect site!

Very relaxing and beautiful place
The cabin was beautiful, but kitchen needs some renovations, for the price they ask per day and all fees this is expected. Thank you!

Maggie Valley Getaway
The house was very nice, needs a few updates. Shower door in Master bathroom was missing a wheel on the track which could allow it to fall off into the shower. Everything else was great!

Snow storm family Vacation
Great location, excellent communication with owner. Owner is very kind and curtious. He kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed for storm. House was perfect. 12 inches of snow, and we had a great time.

Best ever wilderness-like family get-a-way.
After this trip we have decided this rustic mountain home with all the amenities needed for an easy stay is the way to go. The tourism and dining attractions of beautiful Asheville were readily available while enjoying the rest and relaxation in this private wooded area. Coming back from hikes and drives along steep winding roads displaying the beauty of the Lord's creation, surrounded by the amazing starry moonlit nights was totally perfect for us for all ages. The entire environment is so conducive to peace and joyful times and happy conversations. It was bonding together at its best. Many thanks to the owners for their attentiveness to assure our best possible stay.

Nice place but deceptive price. Hidden fees
I thought I was paying a certain amount a night but with hidden fees was almost twice as much . Just call it as it is

Great pet friendly rental with easy access to a lot of beautiful hiking trails!

Uncomfortable
The king bed in the master is uncomfortable. The drain in the master shower is extremely slow. The drive up to the house involves 2 steep sharp turns and is not well lit at night. The outside garbage was overflowing when we arrived and was knocked over by an animal during our stay with garbage strewn around the driveway during our entire stay. Management was notified but garbage was never picked up. Gas grill had no propane tank. There is no cable or local TV. You must stream all TV services. Read the VRBO listing literally and very carefully. Would never rent this again.

Good property
We tried to check in about an hour early and the cleaning crew was still there, which is fine because we were early. I let them know we would come back after check in time and got the reply “I’m not anywhere near done”. We came back about 15 minutes after check in time and some of the towels were still damp from not having enough time to be dried, so we had to finish that up ourselves.
The cabin itself is nice and the kids loved the game room and basketball. The fire pit area was cute as well.

Red Rustic Cabin
The house was lovely! We loved the bright colors inside and outside the house. The best part was the dining table seating 10. We had great family times around the dining table.
Concerns:
~I had to hold the toaster lever down 5 times to make 10 pieces of toast (each morning). The other side of the toaster would not heat at all.
~Ask the cleaning service to use “Comet” on the sink. It will remove stains and sanitize the sink. (I’m not sure that the sink was even cleaned before we arrived.)

Sister fun
Six sisters and 3 husband's gathered to celebrate life and to spend sometime together as a family. The home was clean, well furnished and close to town. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked with dishes...

Great stay
Nice home. Sits right above the golf course and the country club’s restaurant. Very convenient. The space inside is much bigger than you’d expect. Very comfortable and we all loved shooting hoops in the game room at night. Would stay again.

Beautiful cabin, accurately described, very well taken care of, in a gorgeous setting. Big enough to easily accommodate our party of 7 and to entertain our very busy kids. The game room, s’mores kit, decorated Christmas tree and ready to fire up fireplace were all very thoughtful touches. The place felt very cozy and everything was very clean. For future renters, I would provide a few extra coasters, placemats ( the wood table was gorgeous, we tried to take good care of it), plates and more silverware. We had an amazing stay and would love to come back!
