We came for a friend's 30th birthday weekend and had a great time. There were five of us plus a 1 year old and there was more than enough room for everyone, especially in the common areas such as the living room and dining area, which was great for playing games. We also loved how close the resort is to downtown Alexandria as well as Carlos Creek Winery and the Arrowwood resort, where we went for a spa day. Zero complaints. We hope to book again in the summer so that we can enjoy more of the outdoor area, but the clubhouse was greatly appreciated for the colder weather.

We were looking for a beautiful place to stay for a low key Bachelorette weekend that offered accommodations right on a lake, clean and updated lodging, and amenities that included the option for swimming… Lake Darling Resort offered all of this and more! Close proximity to downtown for entertainment and food. Highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back with my family!

The place was amazing from day one. Very clean, nice quality of kitchen supplies. Resort is right on the lake, kids loved the arcade and swimming pool was amazing. Very close to many different attractions. Weather was poor but the property was big enough that we all stayed comfortably without feeling crammed. Highly would recommend and cannot wait to come back.

The property manager was awesome to work with. He was very accommodating and friendly. The indoor pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. There were pool towel provided. The kids loved the game room. Dave had an area on the ice cleared off for hockey. They even had hockey sticks. The cabins had everything we needed and were clean and well maintained. It was a wonderful weekend stay!

We were a last minute booking to have a nice place for 4 kids and 6 adults with visiting family coming periodically - this space was PERFECT for what we needed. The property is well maintained, clean and many things to do for all ages. The kids enjoyed the boot hockey and game room. We stayed in Villa 15 and loved how close it was so the kids didn't have to go far to have fun (and still be within visual distance). Great experience and would love to return again.

Our family enjoyed our fall vacation at Lake Rainy Resort! The town home was clean and well stocked. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. It was a pleasant surprise with a free game room. Really helpful to have a washer and dryer in the unit!

This was the perfect setup for a quick family getaway! Great layout, fully stocked and beautifully decorated villa. Located steps from the ‘Clubhouse’ with pool, hot tub and super fun game room. We loved it all!

We had a fall-time gathering of siblings and spouses for a couple of nights thoroughly enjoyed our time. The villa was spacious for sleeping as well as areas for cooking, eating, and socializing. The location on the lake is beautiful. We enjoyed kayaking, walks, games, and evening fires. Would love to return in the summer to make even better use of the lake. Excellent communication with the VRBO contact as well as the onsite management!

Our villa was right on the water which was great and convenient. It was connected to another villa and I could hear a baby crying, but other that that we comfortably slept 12!

3 couples plus toddler across generations stayed here looking for a weekend away. Was perfectly sparkling clean, exactly as listed. Great communication. Right on water. Wonderful lake ammenities (adirondacks, grill, kayaks, paddle boards, boats to rent). Would stay again and recommend to others.

Lake Darling Resort was the perfect place to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and our son’s college graduation! We shared the weekend with other guests celebrating as well: bachelorette party, family reunion, end of school year, etc.

Wonderful house, fully equipped with anything you would need. Great Lake views. Easy to get to town for great restaurants and groceries. Only concern is proximity to other houses. They are twin homes versus stand alone with limited privacy.

We had a great time here with our family. There was plenty of space for 6 adults and 3 children under 3. We enjoyed the pool and game room as it was a cold Minnesota weekend. We want to return in the summer! Everyone was so kind and helpful.

Well maintained and appointed condo on the shore of Lake Darling. Fire ring right outside the back door. Grill on the patio plus a screened porch. A great time was had by all!

My widowed mother and two young siblings moved to Alexandria in the late 60's while was married and living in Wyoming and have been for 52 years. My family and I came back to Alexandria to attend a wedding of my niece. We had a wonderful stay in the wonderful accommodation and would stay there again if we return there. The only complaint was the very noisy neighbors in the unit to the north of us....they were outside drinking, by their firepit and playing bean bags until 2:30 a.m. We told David the next day but also addressed the neighbors ourselves the next morning. They understood and we did not have a repeat of their behavior the next night.

Very clean and spacious. Was perfect for our family of 4, which includes two teens (16 and 18), plus their two friends and our mini bernadoodle. The kids loved the easy access to the beach area right outside our door, the free paddle boards and kayaks, and their own rooms/level and bathrooms. We loved being able to bring our puppy! It was really nice having boat rental on site too. The water was pretty and quite clear, and the lake bottom was clean and very sandy, not rocky, and no silt. The beach area was manicured and chairs set back in place every morning. We ventured into town one day to boutique shop and had a lot of fun-highly recommend doing that! Our one issue was the neighbors were a bit close when we were doing outside things in the yard area, and got loud a few nights. However the beach area was never overly busy or crowded and we were very happy with that. One other thing was we also had a lot of issues with the internet going down and being very slow when streaming movies at night. Summary: We would totally go back in a heartbeat!
