The view of the Akaroa Harbour was stunning and the spring lambs frolicking in the neighboring paddocks was a super bonus to watch every day. Tiro Treasure is a comfortable place within easy walking distance to lots of eateries and a little further walk to the gorgeous shops of Akaroa. This little town is just awesome to stay in.
The kitchen smelled of fat cooking and the kettle, bench, back splashes and hob were sticky from the fat frying. The bottom of the pans were greasy leaving marks on the shelf - everything needs a good scrub. The food 'leftovers' in the drawer need to be thrown out as they are unhygienic and any future 'leftovers' need to be stored properly in containers. The address is 1 Tirohanga Road, however, after walking up the dangerously slippery wooden steps from Tirohanga Road, and having parked on the road in Tirohanga, we discovered that there is a driveway entrance on the Old Coach Road providing safer and easier access. This needs to be advised in your instructions as the wooden steps are dangerous. After realising that there was a driveway entrance we then saw the Bachcare sign, however, this is not enough to direct people there, as we focused on finding 1 Tirohanga Road and didn't look in Old Coach Road. Having paid a cleaning fee we feel that the cleaner needs to check the crockery and glasses between occupants as we had to rewash the things we used. This is always an issue if there is no dishwasher provided. If the owners would like to know how we got rid of the white heat marks off their wooden table, tell them to contact me. The table now looks amazing to sit at and enjoy the view. An extra blanket in the harbour facing double bedroom would have been good, it was quite chilly. In the back bedroom on the left hand side of the bed (facing the bed) one of the double power points does not work.
