I highly recommed staying here!

Gail and Brendon were wonderful hosts and welcomed us like family! Breakfast was excellent, with great views of the beach and hills! We enjoyed wine with our hosts in the afternoon and they told us about things to do in the area.

Very impressive

Brendon and Gail gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. The room was clean and had all the amenities needed. The breakfast was well prepared by Gail, and it was very delicious. They also recommended a good restaurant for our dinner, which was delicious too. We felt very impressive during our stay here.

BREAKFAST was AMAZING! Gail does a stellar job making a meal fit for royalty - super delicious! And Brendon is such a great host, helping us feel right at home!

IN A CLASS OF THEIR OWN ❤️ Wow, unbelievable, outstanding, NOT to be missed

Gail & Brendan were an absolute delight, they were warm, welcoming and fantastically thoughtful hosts. We felt very comfortable and at ease from the moment they answered the door, we were deflated to leave. The room was beautiful, completely private, absolutely comfortable with its own gorgeous bathroom and special views. The cooked breakfast was to die for, hands down one of the best breakfasts we’ve experienced. The thought that went into making our stay special was nothing short of unbelievable, we were delivered to our restaurant at night, our wonderful hosts only a text away. Nothing was too much trouble, we felt so comfortable in Gail & Brendan’s home, such a lovely unique experience, there was nothing that was too much trouble for these 10/10 ⭐️ hosts. Newton Heights is everything we were looking for; relaxation, proximity to Akaroa, hot tub, and our hosts were super hosts. They could not do enough for us. The breakfast was divine, and the views are breathtaking!

Best stay of our lives!

We’ve stayed in a lot of properties and this has by far been our favorite stay ever. We loved the hosts, they are so welcoming and warm. We loved how comfortable we were. We felt extremely well looked after. We found the host so kind and lovely. We felt like we we staying with family. The location is so close to everything and the views from the rooms and whole house are exceptional and just magical. We wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast just gorgeous!

Perfect

Everything about this place is beautiful. The house has a relaxing design blending indoors and outdoors perfectly. Gael and Brenden were wonderful hosts. From the moment we arrived they were taking care of us and were incredibly welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. We spent the night in the hot tub and woke up to the best breakfast we have had during our stay in NZ. This is an unforgettable place and was a lovely place to stay after our engagement. Thank you Gael and Brenden, we hope to come back soon!

Fantastic hospitality and accommodation in Akaroa

We were warmly welcomed into Gail & Brendon’s beautiful home and a glass of wine was offered on arrival. Outstanding breakfast (easily best we had in NZ) where nearly everything is homemade by Gail or sourced from Brendon’s lovely garden, served on the balcony with wonderful views. The bed was exceedingly comfortable (albeit the room a little on the small side). Wonderful spa pool on the terrace, again enjoyed with a glass of wine. Altogether highly recommended for a short stay in Akaroa.

What a nice surprise!

We had no choice! Newton Heights had the last available room in the whole of the centre of Akaroa on Booking.com when we were trying to secure a place to stay. Yet a stroke of serendipity turned no choice to be our best choice. What a nice surprise! Brendan and Gail have the most beautiful house created with an abundance of architectural aesthetics. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was sparkling clean and supplied with various amenities and toiletries. Outside the corner sliding doors of the bedroom, there is a private decked area where one evening I saw a native NZ bird, tūī, on a branch of a tree in the garden. It was a delightful experience. Brendan and Gail spoiled us with warmest hospitality and utmost attentiveness. Tea was served and wine also offered. Brendan was most helpful in giving us great advices as to where to dine and places to visit providing much ease for us to find our way around the area. We particularly enjoyed Gail's delicious full breakfasts served in the balcony with a magnificent view of the bay.

The house is situated on a slope, therefore, guests would need to drive and turn their cars with a bit more care.

Really? 5 star Michelin rating for our breakfasts. View from the B&B toward Akaroa delightful. The hosts were both helpful with touring advice and very pleasant. We left feeling sad to leave them both. Note: The entire B&B is spotless and beautifully furnished. They are the place to stay on the Banks Peninsula.

I can find fault with many places that I have stayed in the past, but not with Newton Heights B&B.

Everything - I truly enjoyed my time at Newton Heights and would highly recommend it to others. Thanks again Gail & Brendon!

All was great so I have nothing to say here. Just a comment that the rooms are very much integrated into the family home - we were a great group of different international people staying there at the same time and I enjoyed being part of a ‚new temporary family’ - but even though you can have your privacy I think you need to be open to interaction when staying at Newton Heights :)

The best B&B I've ever found

Breakfast at Newton Heights is world class. It is up there and may even be the best breakfast I've had. Gail makes everything herself (including the croissants and jam) and it is served with beautiful linen napkins, and a table with flowers alongside a stunning view of the area. Gail and Brendon are wonderful people. We stayed for 3 nights, and in those 3 nights I felt we became very good friends. They went above and beyond in every aspect of our stay to make us feel welcome, and to ensure we enjoyed our time in Akaroa. The accommodation is exceptional with quality linens, comfortable beds and beautifully appointed private ensuites. I would recommend anyone visiting Akaroa to book a night (more if you can) with Brendon ans Gail at Newton Heights. It was the highlight of our week in NZ.

A great start to our New Zealand trip!

I loved the cosy space, modern furnishing and dedicated hosts! The daily home-made breakfasts were delicious!

The hosts Gail & Brendon were extremely inviting and made us feel very welcomed. We had some great conversations over some drinks. Having use of the spa was a great way to end the day. The bed was also very comfortable. Then to wake up to an amazing view and cooked breakfast by the hosts themselves was the highlight of our stay at Newton Heights. Felt like luxury accommodation. Will definitely be back for a second stay.

Location is good and convenient . A lovely friendly, attractive and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was most delicious and every item was perfectly cooked. We felt spoilt and looked after with enough space to have time to ourselves.

This was a short but extremely comfortable stay in a warm, inviting house.

The breakfast was outstanding and the host ensured she knew of any dietary requirements. Very spacious bathrooms, with a wide range of amenities. Brendon and Gail were extremely friendly and welcoming.

I feel the nightly room rate was a little expensive considering that July was low season.
