Great value motel with spectacular views

A wonderfully and respectfully restored property with beautiful sunrise views over Merimbula. The owner Casper, took the time to show us around and talk us through his restoration. We had the breakfast in the main hall which was great value and had THE BEST CROISSANTS ever, freshly baked and served warm. The little touches were not unnoticed. Boutique teas, coffee in the room, quality toiletries etc

Was here for a funeral but what a diamond place to stay.

Perfect!

Loved the location and that breakfast was included. Massive bonus having that beautiful breakfast 😊 Loved all the Kevin Murphy products and tea & coffee selection.

I did request a little refresh of our room and top up of amenities which didn’t end up being done & I had no where to locate the wifi password.

A great view will be our key take-away from a one-night stay in the Hillcrest

Very good customer service with helpful information, fantastic location with great view overlooking the Boggy Creek and the Long Point Peninsula, comfortable beds

Poorly sound proved walls, we could hear the neighbour's TV program until 1am. Room was not very clean, and we had to chase out a lizard.

Very nicely presented and great views over the town and harbour. Nice grounds including a decent sized pool and tennis court. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Lovely little touches in terms of the types of tea available and an espresso machine.

I booked two rooms, a double and a twin. Both bedrooms were nicely done but only one bathroom had been refurbished. The other one was very dated and orange with a tiny sink & low tap meaning I had to use a glass to fill the kettle as there was no way it would fit under the tap. A new bathroom would make a huge difference.

Super stay; views, pool, breakfast, mini bar = wonderful

Fab sea views with balcony. Great king bed, fantastic mini bar and snacks, lovely continental breakfast. Loved the pool and lounges. Appreciated the beach towels provided in the rooms. Super friendly staff.

It’s retro, so you forgive basic old bathroom fittings.

Gekommen und gegangen ohne bleibenden Eindruck.

Ein ruhiges Hideaway für eine Übernachtung ok.

Frühstück ist sehr, sehr sparsam :(. Das angeblich renovierte Zimmer war fast schon wieder renovierungsbedüftig! Mit etwas frischer Farbe an den Wänden ist ein Zimmer noch lange nicht renoviert. Das sieht man spätestens wenn die Tür zum Bad geöffnet wird!

Absolut empfehlenswert.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und vom Zimmer hatte man eine tolle Aussicht. Der Pool und das Umfeld um den Pool wirken sehr einladend, leider hatten wir schlechtes Wetter.

Das Bad entspricht nicht einem modernen Bad, störte uns aber nicht, weil es super sauber war!

Room quality exceptional, view over Merrimbula just sensational, staff very good and talking with the owner was a joy. breakfast very nice and the setting was exceptional. I am definitely coming back to this motel.

We love everything about the Hillcrest. The rooms are beautifully appointed with super comfortable beds, divine linen and magnificent views over the whole of Merimbula. A fabulous experience

A very cool place to stay. So many great touches. Tennis court and fire pit. Tasteful decor and space was very comfortable and clean. Has a communal space to sit and enjoy stunning view. Above all was the attention to detail and hospitality by host… Casper. Enjoyed a delicious breakfast… good value and Tracey made sure we were well looked after.

I've stayed here before all the upgrades and loved the hotel back then, now it's even better!! The location is fantastic, the venue is amazing, and the customer service is the best.

Definitely a must stay!

We absolutely loved the staff! Very accommodating and just lovely in general. Big shout out to the front of desk lady. She was awesome to chat too.

The bathrooms could be updated to complement the beautiful interiors of the rooms.

A great trip back in time to when properties were built to last and with great detail.

The lower level is a great example of 1970s Australian interior design, really well preserved and credit to the builder and current owner. The upper level has been modernised with good taste, but I prefer the lower level 1970s feel and hope it stays that way.

A fantastic place to stay.

The fitout at this place was lovely and the view was amazing. The staff were very friendly. There was even loose leaf tea in the room.

I would have liked a microwave in the room. Not sure if there was one for use in the kitchen area, but on a Monday night food options in town were expensive and sub-par. The breakfast on offer looked fresh but it wasn't really to my taste.
