About this bed and breakfast
Our Riverside rooms are something a bit special. We have three Riverside rooms that are this size and another even larger one. All of our Riverside Rooms are side by side, so If you are a large group of friends or family they are ideal as a group base as you can congregate by the riverside together and not be disturbed.
These triple rooms each have one double bed and one single bed and so, are extremely adaptable. Please note that triple occupancy will require two of the three guests to share a double bed.
For two people these rooms will always be made up as a double only unless specified on booking that you need a twin set up.
Dimable lighting, ceiling fans, low level touch lighting and contrasting sockets/switches. Flat screen Smart TV's with capability to log into your own Streaming accounts. Silent running fridge. They are unique in their adaptability for anyone requiring a bit more space such as wheelchair users and families, suitable for all tastes. Complementary beverage facilities and premium toiletries are provided.
All Riverside rooms have large shower wet rooms with power shower, standard and roll under, low level wash basin. WC. Stacks of turning space if required. If you are a wheelchair user, we have a choice of roll in shower chair or static wall hanging shower chair that we can pop in there for your use. No charge. Sensory mirrors add to the high quality of these rooms - just swish your hand by the side of the mirror and bingo - all becomes clear!
Patio doors open out towards the river where you can relax at your table and chairs and reflect on the day. Looking out over the river and meadow, feed the fish or watch the wildlife - you may see the otter, woodpecker, kingfisher or owls that pass by. This side of the building allows complete level access into the dining room.
In a Riverside room you have your own front door so if you are having a fabulous evening out and arrive back a little late you will not disturb anyone else on your return.
Our seasonal licensed Tea Room serves delicious home-baked goodies and beverages. We also offer our BBQ Hut for private hire in the evenings, which would be a memorable experience for guests staying at Double-Gate Farm.
The farmhouse's ground floor areas are wheelchair accessible, and the Master en-suite is on the first floor. Our Riverside Rooms are all located on the ground floor, extra large, and have a patio facing south over the river, ceiling fans, refrigeration, and super big wet rooms. They are ideal for couples, families, and groups with flexible and spacious options.
We have additional cottage-style en-suite rooms located in Swallow Barn, including cosy doubles and an accessible ground-floor twin. Although Swallow Barn is no longer inspected by Visit England Assessment Services for B&B purposes, our other B&B accommodations remain in the scheme. It is still inspected by the AA for B&B and Self-Catering purposes to ensure that it remains at a high standard.
If you plan to holiday with your dog, kindly call us before booking to confirm the availability of our two dog-friendly rooms. We do not allow pets in rooms that are not designated as pet-friendly.

As a disabled person with my wife as my carer, we would have difficulty finding any faults whatsoever. We stayed in riverside room No 5 which is a pet free room and was ideal for us.
Owners Debbie and Steve were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. Waking up in the morning and pulling back the blinds to see the river Sheppey flowing past, literally at the end of the balcony, was a delight.

A very good bed and breakfast in the village Godney. Next to The Sheppy pub, which was busy but we didn't hear any noise. The bath room was aimed for a disabled and the shower was good with lovely toiletries. Breakfast was also very good - lots of choice of fruit , cereal and cooked .

Beautiful place to stay, so peaceful. It was our second stay here. The riverside rooms are fully accessible, so ideal for anyone with a disability. There's a patio outside the room, on the riverside, and a lovely place to sit and relax. Debbie, her family and staff are great hosts, friendly and caring. Food is lovely. In terms of Covid, everything is spotless and well thought out.

I took a friend with me who had not been before, whereas this is my third visit. I love the place so much and will be back again before too long. This is the sort of place I would be happy to go to and stay on my own. Friend was very impressed and said it had come up to the standard I had told him.
This was just a short quiet getaway for a couple of nights in a wonderful quiet place.
Also a big thank you to Debbie's father our Chef for the lovely cooked breakfast each morning.

Needed an overnight stay while visiting family down the road. Double-gate Farm was worthy of a far longer visit though for its peaceful setting overlooking the river with its wildlife and the delicious tearoom plus the amazing pub next door. We will return to visit the fascinating location again! This place is SO much more than just a B&B!

Stayed in a riverside room, with excellent facilities, including a wet room which was invaluable for our disabled daughter. Had a patio overlooking a gentle river. We were surrounded by fields and it was quiet and very relaxing. A fabulous breakfast was served in the conservatory overlooking the garden and fields. We were welcomed by Debbie and Steve, and handed a gorgeous cream tea which was very welcome. Parking is close and on the level. Everything is wheelchair accessible.
