About this house rental

This log cabin in the woods is on a gorgeous salt water tidal cove!  Enjoy deer, squirrels, birds, eagles, turkeys and more from the deck!  How about grilling you dinner on the gas grill and eating in the treetops under the sun?  Take a canoe ride to fish or see the views from the water, and warm up at night in front of the wood stove!
The cabin is wonderfully secluded--many locals don't know it is here, with no neighbors but deer and the occasional eagle flying overhead.
There is a canoe and life preservers provided. Use the wheeled trolley to help you with the canoe up and down the path if you would like! The path is on the property, and is about a 2 minute walk to the water. It is a tidal cove, so check the tide charts for tides.

Bedroom 1:  Queen sized bed, storage and wood floors
Bedroom 2:  Queen sized bed, child's bed (suitable up to a 10 year old)
Loft:  Day bed with a trundle that makes 2 twin size beds.
There is Wifi at the house. New on this road, it is not powerful for working from home but it is great for checking emails, etc. The wifi is spotty.
It is a short drive to local lobster merchants, wonderful hiking and swimming in pristine lakes.  Feel free to take our canoe out for a paddle in the cove, or head out at low tide so that you can do some clamming in the front of the property.  At the end of the day, take a moment to sit by the wood burning stove. It is a great place to explore the limitless relaxation and recreational opportunities of Downeast and Acadia.  ., about a 18 mile drive to Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park.  It is also about a 15 minute drive to the Schoodic Peninsula.
Ellsworth:  8 mile drive to Shaws, Hannafords, Walmart, Renys, LLBean Outlet, Walgreens,  restaurants, shopping, antiquing, theatre, and more.
Hancock:  4 miles, Carters Beach, clay tennis courts, kayak tours, sailing, Crocker house restaurant, Ruth and Wimpies restaurant, Chippers

My family and I had a most wonderful time at the cabin by the cove. We dug up clams and tried the canoe, and our dog loved rolling about on the grass in front of the property. The surrounding area is replete with scenic views and quaint shops, and the cabin is a very manageable drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, which we visited several times. We are very pleased with our visit and hope to be back again soon!

We loved our stay here. The cabin was in great shape and a clean. Kitchen was well stocked. The cabin is in a nice secluded area surrounded by woods. You can here a bit of road noise from time to time, but not so much it's take away from the quiet privacy. You have to go down a dirt road to get here, so low riding cars might have a hard time. The walk down to the water was easy enough for a person, but getting the canoe to the water and back would have be really difficult, so we opted not to use it. Don't count on the internet for reliability if you're going to try and use it for work. Overall, I would love to stay here again.

We loved the quiet getaway this cabin provided. It was very clean. We were able to easily explore Acadia (both MDI and the Schoodic peninsula) from here. The location is quiet and the porch is so peaceful! We loved the chairs out there. Our hosts were quick to respond when the dishwasher ran all night and pooled water. There was a light flickering in the bathroom, but we found that the vanity lights gave off the same amount of light (we did not contact the hosts since it was not a big deal to us). There were plenty of towels. We always look for cabins with spiral staircases, so we were excited this one had one! Just be very careful around it because it is a tight squeeze between the bedroom entrances and the bathroom entrance (I'm 5'1" for reference.) My kids hit their heads multiple times walking under the steps. We would have loved an extra chair or two at the kitchen table, since the cabin sleeps 6 but there were only 4 chairs. (There might have been additional chairs in the basement, but we didn't look. We tried pulling up a rocking chair, but it was too tight.) The guestbook provides lots of helpful local recommendations for anything you might need in the area, as well as helpful information about the cabin. We ventured down to the water once, but didn't attempt to bring the canoe down. Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with us!

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful cabin. We loved it to stay there. The cabin has a lot of beautiful details which make you feel home immidiately. The kids loved the floor upstairs because there are a lot of toys for kids. Everything you need you have in this cabin. The Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are not far away but you are not in the touristic area and you have a peaceful and quiet place. The communication with the rental service was great. They take care about all what you need. We had a great time and we hope that we have the possibility to visit the cabin again.

If your looking for a cabin in the woods this is it! Very comfy cozy, has everything you need. Love that there's a canoe for a very peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful scenic crusie on the lake. We very much enjoyed our stay! Be aware of ticks, you may want to use tick spray when going out for walks.

Quite secluded which is nice. Didn’t spend much time around the property as we spent most of our time in Acadia. House is fully equipped. Property manager is responsive and kind.
