This location is ideal for families. We were a group of 7 adults and 3 children (9, 7, & 3). The large yard gave the kids a lot of space to run around and they loved inventing games around the volleyball net. The swing was a big hit with the older two. The water is fairly shallow around the dock with a sandy bottom, and we were still able to dock our boat easily and comfortably. The kitchen table was large enough for all of us to sit for meals and the fridge was able to store all of our food for the week :)
We recommend this location and would return.

Spacious, clean, modern cottage
We had the pleasure of staying at this gorgeous waterfront property last weekend with a group of 11 adults. Kyle was an amazing host. He made sure everything was just right for our group and was prompt at replying to any inquires we had throughout our stay. The property was clean, tastefully renovated, bright and spacious; didn’t feel at all crowded with 11 adults. The view of the lake was to die for, many of us found ourselves lounging in the living room just admiring the waterfront. There were plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy including an array of board games, volleyball court and tire swing. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Overall we would definitely recommend this property for someone looking for a nice getaway to feel like they’re in cottage country without the 2+ hour drive from Toronto. Thank you Kyle!

Beautiful cottage
Wonderful spacious cottage, very clean and very accessible. Good communication with Kyle who replied to enquiries quickly. One area of improvement, there were no glasses or fry pan for breakfasts. Fishing was good and we caught small mouth bass. I would suggest that everyone interested in this cottage please read all policies which can be found on the Policy page, and there are many fines so read it carefully. You must also bring your own water and propane which was a hassle for a group of senior citizens. All in all we enjoyed our trip.

Family gathering
We rented this generous property from Kyle so that our family could gather to attend a local family wedding venue.
The home was clean and welcoming and was ready for our visit. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Kyle advised of all things you would need to bring for your stay.
The kitchen was relatively well supplied with cutlery and dinnerware. The pots and pans could do with replacing as people have scored the Teflon surfaces with metal cutlery.
Although there may seem to be a lot of rules, they really do all make sense.
The house was generous with lots of bedrooms, comfortable beds and sufficient bedding and towels. The living space was generous and the new deck and string lights were absolutely fabulous morning, noon and night!
The new dock is lovely and a great spot to sit and watch what is happening on the lake.
There are many activities-fire pit, horseshoes, volleyball (bring a pump) as well as foose ball table downstairs. There are also cards, puzzles and good table board games.
Nice spot. Would stay again with family.

Not Worth the Price
Kyle’s property was NOT what we expected. We cancelled another property to book this one, paid a very very high premium to stay for 4 nights back in June 2021
When we arrived:
Inside Property:
The smell was musky like dogs lived there (no offence to dog owners), and the furniture was covered in dog hair. The floors and windows were absolutely disgusting. The kitchen sink and oven had to be thoroughly cleaned before we could use either. Basically our family spent the first night doing a thorough cleaning of the property as we could not sleep in the present condition. Not sure why a cleaning fee was charged if this is the condition upon arrival. Oven was disgusting, seems like previous guests used the oven without a baking tray. If we didn't clean the piles of build up in the oven we would have been dealing with another fire. On our last evening at the property we ran out of water. We were not using this much water for us to empty the entire well. When we contacted Kyle he said its Saturday nothing can be done we just have to deal with it. Could not shower, use washrooms or even cook with no water. Very inconvenient. This should be a service the property owner should keep as 24 hours.
Outside Property:
Front porch seems like they have never cleaned it! Back yard grass was NOT CUT plus not only did we have to climb over the grass to walk, but we also had to tip toe around dog poop all over the back yard. We were not even able to use the fire pit area because of the grass height.
The first night we wanted to use the BBQ and noticed right away that it was never cleaned including the grease tray which was full and overflowing. We only noticed how full the grease tray was after the entire BBQ grill caught on fire! Extremely Scary!!!
Kyle programs the deck lights to turn off very early - apparently anytime after 10pm is too late to be outside in the middle of the summer! This made us feel very restricted as guests and felt like we were being treated like children.
NOTE: Property has no dock chairs you just have to stand, NOT very relaxing. Plus the spacing of the so called deck boards are far apart and weak. A small child’s foot could almost fit in between some of the boards or easily loose their balance and fall causing injury. This could also happen to adults if not careful.
Neighbors:
Note if you are going to stay at this property, apparently NO MUSIC is allowed in the MIDDLE of the day. It is stated i

An adventure close to home
All in all, an amazing trip! It was the first time in 18m I was able to be with my whole family! The cottage is definitely cozy with 8 adults, 4 kids, and 2 dogs, but we made it work. We spent most of the time by the lake where the fish were biting, but we were the bait. No fault of the cottage at all, it was actually kind of hilarious. The AC was a BIG bonus because it was such a hot week. We had everything we needed and Kyle was very responsive! 5 stars

The whole family will fit
It feels like you are far away but it doesn’t take forever to get there. The lake is temperate and interesting for boating. The cottage is large, rooms are private and the host will accept some fur babies. If you appreciate a stunning view of the lake and sunset, comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep, privacy between the guests you are sharing the cottage with, proximity to amenities (check out Old Flame brewery while in Port Perry) and an attentive and accommodating host, you will be happy at this cottage. It is exactly as it appears in the pictures. The a/c is brand new and kept us very comfortable. There is a good boat launch at the marina less than five minutes down the road. The Sunnyside Market is close by and can provide you with a daily paper and those hot dog buns you forgot. The driveway will accommodate four standard vehicles. Unlike many cottages, this one boasts two spa-like, modern baths. Two families stayed together and had ample room for eating, relaxing, playing games, water sports and campfires. Kyle is an attentive host. USE GPS TO FIND THE PLACE AS THE STREET NAME IS NOT MARKED. And visit the Trading Post for groceries on your way in. It’s an interesting place to visit. Bring bottled water. There are no docking cleats on the dock, nor is there a ladder and the waters edge is rocky so somewhat difficult for older folks and little ones getting in and out of the water. Water is pretty shallow near dock. Canoe and kayak rental is very close, very friendly and reimbursed by host. Neighbours are very lovely. Cottage would be good for a person with limited mobility as there is a sloped drive and lawn to allow graduated access to both levels and there are beds and baths on both levels also. Deck is wide and deep to accommodate all guests. The bbq and deck were in poor shape on our arrival but the host was attentive to this and was very accommodating about setting things right. A good time was had by all.

Maple Cottage
We had a lovely stay here. The house is comfortable and the proximity to Toronto ideal. The owner was very responsive to our needs. We made use of the volleyball and horseshoes and rented a kayak from a nearby place which was terrific. The deck is terrific and we are all our meals outside. We recommend!

Fantastic property
Maple cottage was fantastic for our group of couples for the long weekend. Kyle was extremely responsive and organized - check in and check out were super easy. Overall the cottage is comfortable and spacious with a large yard to play volleyball and relax with friends. The dock is large and the water is waist height with a sandy bottom which made it a great way to cool off. Overall our group was very happy and we would go again!
