About this house rental
Welcome to the Maine Ski House. This house was originally built to be a rental home, with every nook and cranny designed to accommodate guests. The house is outfitted with all of the supplies and conveniences you can imagine. Bring your clothes, your food, your skis, and toiletries- we've got the rest!
Whether you are drawn to the area to ski Sunday River (only 2 miles away) in the winter or planning a river or hiking trip in the summer: this is the house for you. You will be able to enjoy epic adventures during the day at nearby attractions including Bethel Village, The Appalachian Trail, Step Falls, The Androscoggin River, Mt Abram, Sunday River, Bethel Inn Golf Course and so much more. At the end of the day, return home for a soak in the hot tub, play games or build a puzzle from the well-stocked game closet or enjoy the “pub” while you watch a game on the 55” Smart T.V. For the kids, there are games, toys, and Wii & Xbox360 areas with dedicated 32'' HD LED TVs. Total of 9 HD LED TVs: 4 receiving high definition and 3 receiving standard definition.
This chalet-style mountain house features three levels of finished living space. With soaring ceilings, a two-story river-rock mantel, and a wall of windows offering views across the valley, you won't find a more authentic ski house than this.
On the main level, there is extended mudroom storage with cubbies, benches, and hooks designed for each guest to have their own space to store gear. There is a powder room with a beautiful glass sink, tile floor, and custom cabinetry. The great room and kitchen are expansive with an open floor plan intended to allow everyone to convene in one place. The dining table seats 14 people and there are stools arranged at the overhanging kitchen bar so that everyone can dine at one time. The living room is arranged with furniture surrounding the gas fireplace which provides both ambiance and heat. Walkout onto the sprawling deck where you can grill, have a seat in an Adirondack chair, or soak in the hot tub. Everything about the house is high-quality. From the granite countertops to the custom kitchen cabinets, no expense was spared in constructing this house and you will appreciate the condition of the house once you are here.
The lower level features the game room, the kid's area, and the pub. There is a well-stocked game room full of puzzles and board games for adults as well as little ones. A 55” Smart T.V. and an extensive DVD collection make movie night extra fun! The pub is a fun place to unwind; with cocktail glasses, drink mixers, a Jimmy Buffet Margarita Blender, and surround sound speakers- this where the adults will enjoy unwinding for sure! There is a bathroom, utility room, laundry area, and walk-out patio access on this level as well.

This house has everything and if you forgot something it has that to.... My family of 10 had more than enough room and space. From eating, watching tv, hanging at the bar, playing Foosball, or sitting in the hot tub or by the fire. The property is close to so many activities we went hiking, and frenchman's hole, step falls and tubed down the river. Highly recommend!!!!!

Maine Ski House comfortably accommodated our family with children ages 13 to 18 months. The kitchen is well eqipped for cooking and serving large meals. Area attractions were plentiful and within a short distance or longer if you want to explore the region. Mark was a great host.

A group of 10 of us stayed at this beautiful home. It had everything we needed and then some. I would definitely recommend and stay again, maybe during snowboarding season next time! Mark was responsive when we got to the home and answered any questions I had.

The house easily accommodated our crew with plenty of space and some nice surprises like 2 coffee makers, a wine/ drink fridge, a basket of towels by the door to the jacuzzi, a dining table that seated 12 comfortably and more. A minute or two from the mountain made it easy for people to come and go.

We Loved staying here. Wonderful place to gather with family and be close to Ski resort. 5 stars is not enough to give this property in my opinion.

Maine Graduation Trip
I rented the Maine house for a college graduation gift for my daughter. Friends and family came together for a week of relaxation and fun. The Maine house provided lots of room for everyone along with a lot of fun. We enjoyed cooking together, fire pit s’mores, games and the hot tub. A quiet place to get away!

College Friend Reunion
We stayed at this property for a weekend reunion with friends who hadn’t seen each other in 2 years. The house was perfect! Exactly as listed, check in and out we’re simple. The house has lots of amenities including a hot tub, fire pit, board games, and much more. It’s in a great location with hiking trails and a Brewery down the street. Our group had more than enough space and loved our stay!

calm bachelor bash
My fiancé and I share a lot of the same friends. We decided that we wanted a lowkey family vacation style combined bachelor/bachelorette party. This turned out to be the best spot for it!

Excellent home, super location for Sunday River
This is a great home with lots of room for multiple families. We were 3 families total with kids outnumbering adults! The downstairs "kids area" had toys and games and great seating for them for movies and play time. Kitchen was huge and easy for multiple cooks to prepare meals. Huge dining table for our crew. My only suggestion would be more living room seating if at all possible - but we made it work and were very comfortable. Would definitely rent this house again. Mark was super communicative when we needed a few answers to easy questions. A huge win!

Perfect ski house
The home is very well equipped, organized, and in great shape. The owners obviously care about their guests experience. There are plenty of spaces to spread out after skiing. Two separate living areas make it ideal for multiple families. Kids will love every minute downstairs with video games and board games. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful place for families!
This property was so amazing. We loved all the details that went into the scavenger hunts, the “Oops.. I forgot baskets” and the kitchen had every gadget and appliance imaginable. We were a crew of 4 families with a total of 11 kids 8 and under. The basement was heaven to them! A train table, toy kitchen with accessories, video games, movies, an arcade game! Not to mention the rad little playhouse for kids near the fire pit. My only recommendations for summertime guests is to bring MANY extra fans. The bedrooms (especially upstairs) were very very hot. Otherwise we all loved our stay and would definitely consider returning! Just wish there were a few window AC units or extra fans around!

Majestic
I have typed many of lines to summarize my experience with Peak Properties and The Maine Ski House and to be honest- it was so amazing it’s hard to find the words to do it justice. If you’re looking for privacy, beauty and relaxation, this is the place to stay!! It’s more than just the place itself it’s the moment you book to the day you pack your bags and wish all the way home you didn’t have to leave. Mark @peak properties had hands down the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. The owners of this rental home went above and beyond to accommodate my family. The home itself is magnificent, organized and fully planned out for your family to never have to leave the home. I’ve vacationed in rental properties since becoming a parent and never have I seen anything like what this home offered.
From the chef style kitchen with everything you can think of at your fingertips to games galore. Treasure hunts for the kids to Treasure Hunts for the adults. The fire pit with all the s’mores you can consume under twinkle lights to the hot tub nestled in the middle of a plethora of trees.
We will be back. We will reserve this home and we will recommend it to everyone we know. Book it now!

Great rental, beautiful property
I rented this property for my wife’s 40th birthday along with 4 other couples. The home could not have been more enjoyable. Great space for entertaining and had more than enough room for 10 adults to sleep comfortably.. Other than losing some steak tips and a cooler left outside to a local bear, the house was perfect in every way. Lots of games too, they have thought of everything when it comes to guest service. Great time, we will for sure be booking again!

Property was great! It had every amenity needed or expected.
Our biggest disappointment was the lack of WiFi. It was slow at best and after day 1, it totally stopped. We tried rebooting it without success Kids were unable to use the WI games as a result

AMAZING!
My family tries to rent a house every year so that we can spend the new year all gathered together, this house definitely topped the list in EVERY aspect. Absolutely everything was PERFECT! Nothing was broken, there was more than enough space for all of us and it was completely spotless. Even though we stayed in the house the entire weekend there was plenty for adults and kids to do to keep entertained. I would 1000% recommend this house for any type of gathering and the owners were super helpful and friendly. Loved it wish we stayed longer.

Covid escape
The property far exceeded our expectations (and they were high to begin with!) you can want for nothing while within the property which was wonderful as we were just looking for a long weekend escape! Paula was so easy to communicate with especially as I am a bit of a control freak! She was very patient and very available to me for anything I may need

Home base for hiking
We visited The Maine Ski House right before Thanksgiving when it wasn't quite ski season. It was a great home base for hiking in the Grafton Notch State Park. We went to the park each of our 3 day visit to explore the beauty and were definitely challenged by Old Speck Mountain Trail. We needed to quarantine while there so we brought all of our groceries and ate all meals in the house. The kitchen is well-equipped to do most any cooking. We enjoyed the hot tub and foosball table with our kids. The house was clean and well-appointed. Communication with the owners was friendly and helpful. We may return when we can ski!

Renting this property was the best thing my husband and I could have done for my birthday. We loved absolutely everything about the house. It is beautiful in the inside and outside as well. Nice and big and very comfortable for everyone. The house was equipped with everything we needed for our stay which made things easier for us. We just brought clothes and food with us. We loved all the various games there were for us to play and have fun. The kids were entertained all the time with all the toys they had to play with and they also loved the hot tub which was very nice! But we truly loved how there were games/toys for all ages. In fact, there were many things to do that we never got a chance to get bored. We enjoyed every day to the fullest, had lots of fun and took a lot of beautiful pictures as there were beautiful views around. It was very nice to bring some family members with us because we had company and they also loved the experience. The whole booking process was fast and easy. Paula was very nice, understanding and really good at communicating with us. She responded quickly to all emails and text messages. She provided us with great information since our first communication and was very responsible about the Covid-19 situation all the time. Overall this was a great experience for us in all aspects from the beginning to the end. This was the perfect getaway to relax and have a great time. We would love to visit again!!!

Relaxation and rejuvenation
We selected this property because it was quiet and secluded. After months of lockdown and the stresses of working from home, it was time for a change of scenery and The Maine Ski House was just what the doctor ordered. Beautiful home with amazing amenities. Paula and Matt have thought of everything. The attention to detail was beyond our expectations. We have rented through VRBO for over 15 years ALL over the country and this is by far our best experience. I cannot say enough about our fabulous experience. I wish I could add a video of our granddaughter’s reaction to the Hobbit House. It was priceless! Don’t think twice about renting this property.

Group of friends decided to do a staycation in our own backyard. We were not disappointed. House was perfect size for us (8 adults & 8 kids). One last hoorah before the end of summer
We had an amazing time at the The Maine Ski House. Paula was wonderful to work with and she has really thought of everything when setting up this house for guests of all ages. If you like to cook, you will have everything you need in the kitchen, we were very impressed! It really is a home away from home and the beds were extremely comfy, combined with the quiet area made for many good nights of sleep! We enjoyed hikes in the nearby Grafton Notch State Park, but in general we laid low and enjoyed the many amenities provided at the house, including the hot tub under the stars and s’mores by the fire. We also enjoyed many foosball and arcade game battles with our 12yr old son. We were a small group for this house, but we are already planning for another trip up with friends during the ski season! We have traveled a lot over the years and rented many houses with small and large groups and so far this house ranks #1 for us!

Great Maine Experience!
The house was amazing and we loved every minute of staying there. We had the best time in this part of Maine during the summer. We went on a couple of hikes at Grafton Notch and saw some cool waterfalls made from Glaciers. We enjoyed the brewery down the road and some other fun places for food. We had a really
nice quick getaway. Paula and Matt were amazing hosts and we already booked our second stay for the winter!

Social Distant Getaway
This is the perfect getaway location! We were a group of 18 looking for nature, relaxation, and time together. There was plenty to do at the house, and all the extra touches (treasure hunts, s'mores sticks, games closet, etc.) made our stay extra special. So close to hiking trails, kayaking, swimming holes, cliff jumping, biking, and more that it entertained all ages while keeping us socially distant. We braved an early morning drive along the self guided moose safari as well! The stops along the scenic highway are worth the drive itself, however we were lucky enough to see a Moose too! Hosts were excellent with communication and attention to detail. We look forward to a return trip!

Family vacation
We had a amazing stay at the Maine Ski House. We had a group of 10. 8 adults and 2 children. Everyone felt very comfortable.
The kitchen is well stocked with appliances. The silverware and accessories were plentiful. It was nice to eat dinner every night at the large pub table.
The girls loved the game room, the hobbit house, fairy gardens, treasure hunts and the hot tub. The adults loved the bar, firepit, horseshoes and hot tub. Not to mention the retro 80's arcade game. Reliving Galaga and Pac Man was fun.
The t.v. was never turned on.
Bathrooms had many extra touches. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and anything you may have forgotten.
Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Towels were plentiful.
The house was very clean. Outstanding job by Shelly and her cleaning crew.
We saw 2 covered bridges in the area, waterfalls and we went tubing twice. On the way to the falls we stopped at the pie lady. Amazing pies. We got strawberry rhubarb and Maine wild blueberry. Whoopee pies and maple cookies. We visited some local breweries as well.
There was stuff to make samoors on the island along with a welcome letter addressed to the whole family, each and every guests name.
Paula was amazing! Answered all my questions, even went out of her way for some of them. She was always available when I needed her.
Paula sent out a packet of things to do in the area. I really can't rate her professionalism high enough and her genuine love of family.
We will l definitely rent this home again. I feel as though I made a life long friend.
Thank you Paula for everything.
We truly were lucky to have been able to make this happen.

TMSH was awesome.
The house was amazing, so much to do, Paula & Mike have thought of every detail. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals and bake. Our kids loved all the things to occupy their time, from ages 10 to 19.
We loved the area and had fun exploring.
Most of all the communication with the homeowners was outstanding, no detail left out! Thank you for making our trip so easy and carefree!
