It was a beautiful property with so much character. Perfectly maintained!
Nothing!

Nice room at a good price (with lots of discounts - the rack rates on the hotel's own site would not be good value at all!). Storage for bicycles in a room behind reception!
Dinner had to be at a fixed time - no other times available, even though we were residents. Food and service reasonable.

All the staff were brilliant. The swimming pool, sauna etc was so nice. Breakfast was yummy.
Other guests going to their rooms late being noisy doors banging tv loud. The hotel has no sound proof as it is an old building. The dinner menu was a wee bit posh for me.

calming environment with attentive staff.
some parts tired and cleanliness of some areas of bathroom and outside could be better

Stunning property, nice amenities. staff very welcoming and friendly.
I was expecting the hot tub/ jacuzzi to be on as this was a treat with my boyfriend to be let down on the day. we did enjoy the swim however I think the area could be done with a little tlc. we were expecting it to be like the pictures of the hot tub and sauna outside. the pool was nice however the step ladder getting in and out of the pool was not secure and was very squeaky.

Staff were lovely and food was nice.
Our room was very small for the price. The bathroom had mould, the towels were thin and worn. For the look and feel of the hotel (grand and luxurious) the bedroom definitely did not deliver on this.

Breakfast excellent
Location ideal for us
We were delighted with the Ron staff and service

The old world charm!
The distance from the centre of Aberdeen.

We had booked for B&B and the breakfast was excellent. The quality of complimentary refreshments in our bedroom were of a high standard.
We had stayed there in January and our evening meal was delicious as was the Afternoon Tea!
They have wonderful treats for dogs too!
Staff so friendly and welcoming.

Excellent
No tea and coffee in room

Room small, breakfast cold, when in lounge waited 40 minutes to recieve an order from the bar and had to ask twice when our order was coming. Various staff seemed to be walking about the hotel but not serving. Friends had ordered wine to arrive at our table on 2nd night but it was not received. Staff issues should be addressed.

All staff were very informative and attentive.
Bedroom: Cracked ceiling, bashed radiator in room, thermostat on bathroom radiator held together with insulating tape. Poor Wi-Fi signal in room - dropped out from time to time. Would have been nice to have a box of toilet tissues in the room, and also a glass (even a plastic disposable one) in the bathroom.

Location was great, good having the pool, most of the staff were great, food was good
Not as dog friendly as we thought, no comfortable place for dinner, expected to have dinner on coffee tables. Tried to charge us twice for the dogs.

location is very good. room was comfortable
staff were needing trained better

Staff were very helpful in moving us into a suitable with a window without any issues
Would have preffered to dine in the lounge rather than the restaurant as too formal

Good sized room, excellent shower, beautiful location and easy access from A96
Staff and staff attitude - not good. reception staff were welcoming but waiters were not. Bar area left frequently without any staff on duty. Twice tried to charge for items that were already paid

Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good. Bathroom could do with a bit of a freshen up as the silicon seal around the bath a bit mouldy and untidy looking.
Bar staff could do with a bit of training as not quite up to scratch. Attended a function in the ballroom and bar service was very very slow and came across as unprofessional although I’m sure this could be sorted out with some simple training.

The breakfast clearly used quality ingredients and was freshly cooked. It was also served promptly even though the hotel was busy.
The hotel is easily accessible yet is in a quiet location with beautiful grounds in keeping with a country house.
The hotel is a little tired and more investment in it’s upkeep is needed. Also our room had a faulty table lamp and bathroom extractor fan. This should be sorted befor the room is used by a customer.

A lovely historic building with real fires. All staff, although they were very busy, were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely hand wash and lotion products in all toilets, en suits, leisure club changing rooms.
Good selection of tea, coffee and chocolate biscuits; choc tea cake and chic wafers in room with an added bonus of pop chips.
Meal in the dining room was delicious, we had the salmon.
We asked for the fire to be lit, although they contacted staff to do it by the time we left an hour later the fire had not been lit and it was a bit cold in the bar. Also, as they don’t have a dedicated person serving in the bar we had to wait a significant time to be served a drink.
