The cabin is very cute, and the view of the lake is lovely. The only negative, if you want to call it that, is that it’s 2 miles in on a dirt road, not great if you want to go back and forth often, but wonderful for peace and quiet. There is no AC or WiFi for anyone who might be looking for that, but it’s a nice little cabin for a quiet weekend or week away.

Construction/building equipment around and difficulty getting kids to water safely was only downside-however, my assumption is that the building things are to solve the accesssibiltiy to water piece so future guests likely won't have this barrier. Overall the camp was very cozy and clean

This is a true maine camp, water pumped from the pond, simple no frill but everything you need. There's a his and hers outhouse if you want to use it. The place was perfect.

First the property owner was supposed to let me rent out the place thru affirm and never returned my call about that then … So first night the place had no heat we woke up and it was freezing in the house tried contacting owner after a few tries we just figured out that the heat was unplugged smh you got guests and u dnt plung the heat ?? Smh then the water issue was worse no hot water we had to heat up some water not wroth all the money I put down to rent this property! First and last but the seenery was amazing!

Very basic cabin, clean, with a great view of the lake. Very affordable, but the place could be nicer with more light in the kitchen (over the stove), a couple of more rugs, more light in the middle bedroom. Also would be nice to have a tea kettle.

This camp is in a great location, has a great view, and was very comfortable. Had everything we needed. The only thing we needed to bring was food and water. We were about halfway b/w KI and Baxter, so perfect for hikers

This lakefront house feels like it has just been redone and it's clean and has everything you need for a lovely stay. The pictures are accurate. The sunrises and sunset light over the lake are breathtaking. If you go down to the dock, you'll be able to see Mt. Katahdin. The lake is gorgeous.
However, the cabin water system is a problem. Perhaps everyone in Maine naturally understands that "camp" means lake water coming into the faucets, but we didn't know that. Perhaps you could provide a few gallons of drinking water in the fridge (water is 50 cents a gallon). We arrived late at night and had to drink and make coffee the next day with lake water. (Thank you for having coffee K-cups, by the way. we always appreciate that.)
In addition, the lake-fed toilet made noise all night, gurgling with the lake surge. I found it strangely comforting to hear, as if the house itself, had an active digestive system and its stomach was gurgling. Others, who are more sensitive about noises at night, might find the gurgling system interferes with sleep.
Our problem occurred on the 3rd day, when the system broke, and we could not take showers. On the 4th day, we had no water at all - no water in the faucets and toilet. We used the last of our water jugs to flush the toilet, and left the cabin very early in the morning. (We went to McDonald's at 6 am to get coffee and use their restrooms.)
The owner/manager was out on his boat (his admission) and wasn't responding to texts.
We were very flexible and accommodating about this situation, and he did not seem to think it was a big deal - not having running water. His response time was always 12-36 hours. Normally, if a hotel or BnB experiences a lack of basic necessities, there is an apology, an acknowledgment, and a small, token refund. This owner/manager just ghosted any subsequent text after we left - and that was that.
I hate to leave negative reviews. Life is not perfect. Things happen, but the lack of response was disappointing.
I chose not to fight or pester him, and I do hope I don't get punished for being honest about my experience by having a negative review in retribution.
We left the lakeside house early, cleaned up after ourselves
( I don't even leave dishes in the sink), and treated the house with respect, as responsible adults do.
If the owner/manager can respond more quickly - like in the same day as the text), and can solve the water issues, then this lovely cabin would be ideal.

Cute cabin on lake
Cozy and just right for a get away on the lake. Our dog and we loved it. Wonderful deck for sitting and gazing at the beautiful area. Owner is very responsive. Short drives to some great flat water canoeing on very quiet and scenic lakes, and terrific hiking. Just be aware that the path down to the lake is a little steep. Though the dock is unfortunately not useable there is a nice sandy area where dogs and humans can get into the lake for a swim.

This adorable cottage is way roomier than I thought from the pictures! All necessary ammenities provided. The mountain views are simply stunning and the lake is lovely (bit cool). We did see a moose and we enjoyed the loon calls all night, so beautiful! Town is really fun. preWarning: Baxter State Park does NOT ALLOW PETS of any kind anywhere! so plan accordingly. Also, the owners gave us the address as turkey trail which is incorrect, so just dont panic like we did if they make that mistake again. its Turkey TAIL rd on GPS. There is no television provided. Cell service very spotty and no internet. I personally enjoyed that part but plan on it. The place was impeccably clean and well maintained. Theres a grill for cooking! Keurig. The kids ADORED swimming and floating.
