Wonderful property for visiting the Acadia park area. Wish the trees opposite the porch were gone so the water could be viewed. Great location to travel to nearby attractions.

I stayed at the Chicadee’s Nest with my husband, two kids, and parents. The beds were very comfortable, and we appreciated the spaces to sit other than the living room.
Slight downsides would be the fact that both full baths were upstairs and the stairs are steep with narrow treads, not very accessible if you have any mobility issues in your group. The dining space/table is very small. I can’t imagine fitting more than 6 people in it and 6 was really tight. Finally, the upstairs gets very warm during the heat of the day. We were able to cool it off considerably at night by opening lots of windows, and, as an upside, Danielle provided lots of fans for helping with airflow.
Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay.

Chickadees Nest was a comfortable place for our family to return to after exploring Acadia. We cooked many of our own meals there and found the king sized beds to be very comfortable. It gets very warm upstairs on hot July days with no a/c but the owners provide many fans to help with that and to help cover the noise from the busy road in front of the house.

Chickadee's Nest is a quaint little cottage in Southwest Harbor. It's really convenient to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Plenty of cooking utensils in kitchen to make meals. Several good restaurants are nearby. One of our favorites was Charlotte's Legendary Lobster Pound. It's a great place for a family vacation!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Chickadee's Nest. It was the PERFECT place to stay for our trip to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The house has a great location on the quieter side of the island. It is close to hiking, downtown, restaurants, the lighthouse, marina, and more.
The house itself was perfect for us and is even BETTER in person than the description and pictures show. It is ADORABLE! We felt like we were staying with our family...cozy, quaint, comfortable, and just right! We were able to VERY comfortably fit our family of 6...2 adults and 4 teenagers. There was space for everyone to not have to be on top of each other. The house actually has 2 King beds, 1 Queen bed, and a Twin daybed in the loft...so it is more like having 4 bedrooms instead of 3. It was very nice to have 2.5 bathrooms, too, especially with having four boys.
Two of my kiddos have dietary restrictions so we knew we would be cooking all of our meals at home. Our host was VERY helpful with providing the additional spices and cooking pieces that we needed, without hesitation. The kitchen is pretty well stocked, too, which is a big plus.
It was very helpful to have a washer and dryer, too. Everything you need is provided, even dishwasher pods, washing machine pods, toilet paper, napkins, coffee filters, and paper towels. We've stayed at several houses where we had to bring all of those consumable supplies.
Our host went out of her way to make us feel welcome and to help us with our needs :)

This house is felt like home when we first got in. The kitchen is fully functioning and well stocked of cooking tools. The grocery store is just on the other side of town, maybe a 5 minute drive, and a restaurant, The Upper Deck, with both great food and views, is right across the street. Danielle is very communicative, answering messages quickly.

We had a wonderful stay. The location of the house is perfect for an easy walk into Southwest Harbor, or a quick drive to trails and other towns on the Quietside of the island. Bar Harbor is a short drive away, or catch the Island Explorer shuttle. The main road is right outside, so there is a little bit of road noise, but it didn't bother us. Furniture inside the cabin is comfortable and we were impressed with the updated appliances in the kitchen. The perfect vacation home for a Maine trip-- no frills that you wouldn't need, and all the things you do need to have a great stay in one of the prettiest villages on the east coast.

Family Trip
Enjoyed our stay. Rustic home in a good location. House needs some slight updates, but we were aware ahead of our trip, so it was as expected. Met all our needs for a good family trip!

Road Noise
House very close to road. Around 5:15 in the morning starts with traffic noise. All showers/tubs on second floor. Walking distance to town is short. A very nice walk. Great neighbors. Owner answers emails promptly. Main compliant would be the road noise. Not all bedrooms had same concern with noise. Downstairs bedroom seemed to be better.

Birthday Weekend Bliss
My friend's and I spent my 30th birthday at this beautiful property located in Southwest Harbor, very close to the harbor. This 4 bedroom, 2 bath was extremely spacious and cozy for our group of girls. We came from all over the northeast to spend time together and were absolutely not disappointed. From beginning to end, Debby and her daughter Danielle were very accommodating. The place was very clean and orderly and located close to the owner's restaurant, the Upper Deck. Beds were spacious, comfortable and had an overview of the ocean. We really appreciated the sprawling outside enclosed porch for the sunset. There are also a myriad of local hikes to take, and this side of the island seemed to be more peaceful than the busy Bar Harbor. Our favorite's were Mansell Mountain and Beach Mountain.. Flying if you like a shorter hike. I would highly recommend this property, for families or friend getaways alike.
