The perfect place to stay while visiting beautiful Mount Dora. Just a short walk or bike ride to historic downtown Mount Dora. Enjoy all the nearby shops, cafes and galleries. Located in an established neighborhood amongst other renovated historical cottages. Walk to the library, parks and to Lake Dora at sunset. Built in 1932, this inviting 2 bedroom 1 bath home has been recently renovated. The kitchen is fully equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and stove.

We had a wonderful long weekend at this cottage! Peaceful, bigger than we expected, everything we needed and both beds were very comfortable..great nights sleep! I left my pillow there and they were so nice to mail it back to me too. We will be back 😊

We were taking our college Sophomore to UCF and get her set up in a new apartment and decided to stay in Mt. Dora to get away for a few days afterwards. It was a perfect place to get some rest and relaxation in before going back home to South Florida.

We enjoyed our first trip to Mount Dora. We will definitely be back but in the Spring or Fall when the weather is cooler. The house was clean and convenient to downtown and restaurants. Easy check in. Thanks for allowing us to stay and bring our gut babies.

We loved the Mermaid bungalow. Just as pictured. Location perfect for Mount Dora activities. Our doggies loved the backyard as we did. Nice place to sit out and enjoy the fresh air. We did have a few issues, but the host and staff were very responsive.

This cute bungalow is in a great location and a great neighborhood. We were able to easily walk to restaurants and parks. The house has everything you need and is equipped with the basics. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Absolutely perfect two bedroom home me nestled in the heart of historic Mount Dora. The house is outfitted with all you need in the kitchen, bathroom and outdoor living space. We stayed two nights and I wish we had booked for a week. Home away from home!

We had an amazing time. Check in process was a breeze, host was great and was available for communication if at all necessary. House was clean, beds we’re comfortable and everything was provided. The house was walking distance to downtown but far enough away that the sounds of festivals or parades weren’t bothersome. 10/10 recommend and we hope to stay again!

I would describe the 'Mermaid House', in today's standards as more like a cottage/bungalow. We were three staying during a 3-day weekend trip. I am not sure if it would be feasible for more than 2 people to stay longer than that. The place was very clean and well supplied with more than the average inventory of items, both in the bathroom and kitchen. Across, it was decorated in good taste, and not crowded at all; with plenty of space available within the common areas. The bedrooms had comfortable beds to sleep on, but the only main inconvenience was that for two people sleeping in one bed, the beds were both situated against a wall. Also, there were no dressers of any size to store your clothes in. The bathroom is nicely tiled and the shower was spacious enough to comfortably move around in. We were amazed that there were more than one place available to hang your large towels on to dry... thank you for that! The kitchen was 'retro' like decorated with all the necessities on hand. We were a bit disappointed with the outside back area; not quite the same image as the pictures online; it needs some immediate TLC. Several plants around need to be replaced and the fire pit was filled with debris. We could not have asked for a better location; just walking distance to the main sites of historical Mt. Dora.

Quiet, cozy, quaint, comfortable, clean, charming. The location just on the edge of downtown was perfect. We knew when we walked in that we were going to love it. The beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed. It was the perfect getaway place for us and MT Dora is really cool.

Seamless check-in.. property so charming .. Loved we each had our own room .. we are avid walkers and really enjoyed location proximity to town center. They had everything to make you comfortable .. Especially enjoyed the back yard ! Very cozy and our dogs were in heaven roaming with it fenced in .. Thank you ! Really enjoyed we would book again for sure 😁

Loved the house, updated and furnished tastefully. Fully equipped with everything one needs. Loved the fact that backyard is completely fenced in, no worry about the dogs. Near town for good shopping and excellent restaurants. Near nice dog park populated with nice dogs and owners.

Excellent writers weekend in Mount Dora!

This is an amazing house conveniently located near downtown Mount Dora. My friend and I found it very welcoming for a writers retreat. Cozy couches, coffee on the front porch, and a large dining room table to spread out and work. Very quiet and easy access to downtown for restaurants, shops, and getting out to enjoy the day. Highly recommended!

The look of the outside of the cottage was cute although a little overgrown. Once you enter the property, those of us with vertigo have footing issues. The floors were warped and went in waves. The cottage is nicely decorated, and there was seating. The king size bed, although comfortable, did not provide an egress for the person on that side of the bed. The door to the bathroom did not close properly or lock which also made for an interesting week. The dining room chairs need love. Also, the micro fridge although cute was just too small for a house of 4 for a week. Also, the back yard has not been maintained and did not provide a welcoming hang out space. Then mid week, realized that the other building on the property is also a guest house so had another couple staying and walking by our windows and vehicle. Was unexpected and a little concerning until we spoke to them. All in all, a bit disappointed in the property, but we were still able to enjoy our time.
