About this house rental
Enjoy a relaxing Adirondack getaway any time of the year in our year round home. We are located just outside the Village of Old Forge, right off Route 28, 3 homes from the Steakhouse Restaurant on the 3rd hole of the Thendara Golf Course. We are a nice walk or short drive to the Adirondack Railroad, VanAukens Restaurant/Hotel and the Moose river. Not to mention all the great shops and restaurants Old Forge has to offer is just minutes away.
Little Pine Acres has everything you could want to enjoy a true Adirondack vacation. The home offers a large open floor plan, with living room, large dining area, and fully equipped kitchen, high speed internet and free WiFi. High cathedral ceiling, lots of windows to allow the outside in, knotty pine interior walls in the huge family room overlooking the large yard with towering pine trees that boarder the beautiful Thendara Public golf course. An outdoor patio with table, chairs, umbrella are available for outdoor use. The home has 2 very spacious bedrooms, large closets, and 2 full baths along with a pull out sofa in the family room. The home has a central heating system, ceiling fans in each bedroom, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig single serve coffee maker, drip coffee maker, gas grill, and washer and dryer. The home also is equipped with a whole house automatic generator in the event of a power outage - your stay will not be interrupted.
For those occasional rainy days or to keep you in touch with the outside world (should you wish to), the house is equipped with a TV in the great room, living room, and a small television in one bedroom.
Please note this home is SELF CATERING. I do not have a cleaning service, while almost all of my guests love saving the extra cash and picking up after themselves. If you do not, I recommend finding a home that is not self catering.
SELF CATERING also means, that while I do my best to keep the house fully stocked. If something gets damaged by a guest prior to your stay, I will do my best to replace it but I cannot always get there in between guests with a replacement.
WIFI can go in and out during your stay, this is not something I can control and or fix. Spectrum is our provider and while they do a wonderful job at response time from storms and outages. Me personally cannot control or fix that.
Guests are responsible for taking their own garbage at check out. There is no road side trash service because of bears-
There are so many things to do in and around Old Forge. There are hiking trails, bike trails, canoeing/kayaking on the Moose River or Fulton Chain Lakes, boating, fishing, swimming at the free public beach or the Water Safari Enchanted Forest, canoe/kayak/power boat rentals, white water rafting, sight seeing cruises on the Fulton Chain Lakes, golf, horseback riding, scenic ski lift at McCauley Mountain, sea plane rides at 7th Lake, the Adirondack Scenic Railroad.
In the village of Old Forge there are many restaurants & pizzerias, Adirondack gift shops, Adirondack furniture & decorations stores, a full grocery store, Kinney pharmacy, a movie theater that shows between 4 & 6 different current movies, an arcade, Enchanted Forest/Water Safari amusement park, Calypso Cove (go-carts, bumper boats, rock climbing wall, batting cages, arcade), miniature golf.
There is easy access to the well known Old Forge snowmobile trail system. You can also ski at McCauley Mountain (about 5 minutes from the house) or Gore Mountain (a little over 1 hour).

This is the second time we have rented this house. It's the perfect size for us. House is clean, comfortable and well stocked. Rhi is a sweetheart to communicate with. The location is perfect ... Not far from village of Old Forge. Great store across the street as well as the steakhouse restaurant which is really good. Love the sunroom to relax in after a day of sightseeing and shopping. View is awesome...nice golf course. If looking for a great rental, can't go wrong!

We loved the property! Everything was clean.The decor with the artwork along with layout of living room, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, and great room was even better than we expected. Add on to the beautiful setting of the Adirondacks this was one of our best trips ever!

We were there for the weekend to pick up our kids from camp. The location was right near the heart of old forge. The view of the golf course was fabulous. We had several deer encounters, and enjoyed going for walks.

We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed the place. It was really close to everything we came to see. Loved having 2 bathrooms and the backyard was so beautiful. Loved everything about the house. Rhi (the owner) was so acessable and couldnāt have been nicer.

Beautiful location close to the mountain and other locations. House was bigger than it looked and was well furnished. Host had everything we needed and the option to clean up after ourselves and save money on cleaning fees was great.
Also pulling into the drive way and seeing deer just like in the pictures of the add was priceless. Definitely would stay with host again.

The owner, Rhi, was the most responsive and friendly vrbo host we have had. She sent us the code to get into her property a week ahead of time , whereas Iāve hassled to get that even the day before with previous properties. All my questions were answered very promptly. We loved staying there, especially looking out at the spacious backyard from the sunroom. having a campfire in the backyard, complete with wandering deer passing by. The location is excellent and set back enough from the main road that you donāt hear any traffic . I loved the kitchen. I highly recommend this vrbo

This property was perfect for us and the location was awesome. Right across the street is a great little store and a fantastic steak house. Not far from gas stations and stores. The house is so comfy. We never sat anywhere but in the back area. The view is awesome, fireplace was great. Deer came in the mornings and early evening, birds all over and the squirrels will keep you entertained. The kitchen seemed well stocked but we didn't cook at all. We just enjoyed going out and experiencing Old Forge. You can't go wrong with this home. Rhi was excellent to communicate with. Three things I would change:. Furniture on patio not comfortable, couch in back room needs to be firmer. We are old and found hard to sit in. The last thing is me...lol...the deer heads hanging on wall. But none of that takes away from this home. Rhi and Justin, thank you for sharing your home and giving us a great vacation.

Quaint, rustic little home. Exactly what we wanted for our stay in Old Forge. Owner was lovely, easily accessible. Beautiful views in the backyard with lots of wildlife! Our kids loved it and itās a great spot for littles!

This is an excellent place to stay. It was even better than we ever could have hoped for. It sounded wonderful when we booked it, but I donāt think we ever realized it would have two living rooms and two bathrooms. It was perfect for our family. It was incredibly clean and well stocked. There is even a grill if youād like to do your own cooking outside! We highly recommend it as a place to stay for anyone that is headed to Old Forge.

Long weekend in the ADK
My husband and I had a wonderful experience staying at this home. We love the Adirondacks and come up multiple times a year. We normally rent a motel room but decided this time we wanted an entire house for our longer stay. This was exactly what we were looking for. The house was clean and the perfect amount of room. The backyard was large and thereās a beautiful view of the golf course. We are mountain bikers and the house was a short distance away from McCauley Mountain. We were also able to walk into the town of Old Forge from the house. The hosts were very responsive! We will definitely be booking this property again!

Wake up early
Make sure everyone staying is up and showered by at least 8am to ensure you have time to wash and dry all towels used and do all of the required cleaning. While I understand picking up after ourselves, I feel that the amount of cleaning required by guests is much more than any other home we have rented in the past. After discussion with the owner we were refunded the extra $60 I was charged for leaving the clean, but damp, towels hanging in the bathrooms. Although we were informed of the cleaning policy ahead of time, I do not feel there is enough time to complete all of the required cleaning prior to an 11am checkout time. We had planned to stay here in future years as we come every year for our childrenās soccer tournament, however we will be choosing an alternate location that covers the usual cleaning so we are able to enjoy our time away.

The sun room was beautiful and the rug in the living room was very comfortable and spacious. My son loved rolling around in there after a long day. The front porch was great to sit on in the mornings for coffee ( which they provided!) And the back porch was lovely for evenings and mornings. We saw lots of deer in the backyard including a Mama and her babies. Overall it was quite lovely and next time we will probably stay longer! Thanks so much!

We loved staying here and we felt very comfortable. It was very close to town and easy to find. Everything was very clean and they had everything we might need.
