We stayed in the lighthouse hide - A beautiful little hide away for my hubbys 60th birthday. He’s a keen bird photographer who also loves lighthouses. The weather wasn’t too kind, it’s definitely wet, windy, Walney! Unfortunately the best of the hides was closed, (apparently due to being vandalised). We did manage to see a couple of seals before we left, along with a few birds that braved the weather and came out. We were quite happy being cosy in this lovely little place.
Nothing to improve for the accommodation, it’s lovely! Not sure if it would be allowed, but if there were some logs / bird feeders etc. outside of the lighthouse hide, we might’ve seen some birds from the windows.

It was an absolute brilliant place to relax and unwind. We loved the wind at night.
We found the bed a little low and could possibly do with an upgrade. Although we both slept well on it.

The Lighthouse Hide is well equipped, warm and comfortable. It's a unique location and a great place to relax for a short break.
As we like bird watching being within the Nature Reserve was ideal for us - lots of ducks and waders at this time of year. The seals hauled up on the beach and in the sea were an added bonus. We were lucky with the weather.
Nothing comes to mind.

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer week away or nicer accommodation, it really is home from home. There’s everything you need for a lovely break and the owners should be so proud of the place. A real find for my lighthouse loving husband

Without doubt one of the best properties and locations to actually be able to relax and unwind. Great opportunities for bird and seal watching on the surrounding nature reserve. The property has all of the facilities needed for a couple to self cater or visit the local hostelries. Highly recommended.
For us there was nothing to improve.

We had an amazing holiday. It was a surprise 40th birthday get away and my partner loved it. The lighthouse hide was very clean and had everything we needed. Check in was easy. I was a tad worried i wouldnt sleep brilliantly upon learning the lighthouse was functioning with thoughts of a blinding light flashing through the room every 15 seconds. This wasnt the case at all, we slept very well and couldn't see the light flashing when blinds were down. It was lovely driving back towards the lighthouse in the evening as it flashed at the end of the island, welcoming us back. It was so peaceful, we saw a couple of walkers during our 3 day stay but other than that it was very private. Whilst we managed the bumpy off-road track in a golf estate, there were some big holes so 4x4 defining preferable and it was a 25 min drive to get off Walney island, so just be prepared for that. Nipping to get milk will take a while! They did forwarn is of this in the information so it wasn't a surpise.

Wonderful Stay
We had an absolutely wonderful stay in The Hide. It is in the most amazing location, with a beautiful tidal landscape on the doorstep, and impressive hills as a backdrop. It us also extremely close to a beautiful lighthouse. The accommodation itself has everything you need and more. The hosts were lovely. We want to come again soon!
Nothing to improve.

Private, warm, snug and very well equipped.
The directions were excellent. It would have been very difficult especially in the dark. The Hide was very private and so warm and cosy it did not matter that a gale was blowing or it was raining so hard! Easy walks from the doorstep but sadly not on the beach as it is a reserve and prohibited.
A box of some sort by the front door to put muddy/wet boots in may be a idea. Maybe a larger door mat?

Remote luxury
We love the outside spaces and privacy of the hide. The Sonos music system is a great bonus. All in all the Hide offers a comfortable and modern stay.
nothing comes to mind
