We did a two night stay. No issues! I couldn’t locate dishwasher pods and the host messaged me within minutes. Super impressed:)

With its beautiful wood floors & trim and genuine historic home touches, Cottage in the City gave me a nice reminder of growing up in a 100+ year old home. The 2-bedroom rental is spacious, extremely clean, and equipped with a powerful window air conditioner (important in the current heat wave). Elizabeth & Austin are proactive communicators and very responsive. This property has Ring video cameras at the entries. While I am never going to be a fan of entry-door security cameras, the pincode door locks made entries & exits a breeze. There is a separate rental upstairs; quiet hours on both levels are maintained from 10pm to 8am.

I stayed here for a week with my teenage daughter, and we both loved it. It’s very charming and spacious. The kitchen is very large, and there were two bedrooms for privacy. It was in a great location and near everything we wanted to do. I highly recommend it!

We had an awesome time staying 3 nights at your cottage in the city. The place was very clean and comfortable. Very close to the city, river and stadium. Highly recommend to others.

Our friends from Kansas came to support their grandchild at the Kidwind competition in Mpls.
We enjoyed our visit and had a nice meal at the Local Burger Bar.

Located in a nice neighborhood and short drive to either downtown or MOA. Half block from a great burger place. Very clean and lots of character. Great stay!

Great bottom duplex with all the amenities of home! Perfect for our family of three as a home base while enjoying all the attractions St Paul. Off street parking space was a huge bonus during a late season snowstorm. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend for a low key, relaxing stay. Neighborhood is safe, quiet, and convenient.

We were in town for a Minnesota United FC game, and this place was perfect! We were 10 minutes from the stadium, a jucy Lucy burger, donuts, you name it. Beautiful home with enough room for our family of 5 not to get on each other’s nerves. We will definitely be looking to stay here again next year!

My family loves staying at this property. It was extremely clean and the location was wonderful. It was close to all the places we visited. The property owner also had great communication. If we are ever back in the area we would happily stay at this location again.

Stayed at Cottage in the City for the Boys HS Hockey Tournament at the Xcel. Perfect spot for it being less than two miles away - caught an Uber back and forth to the X so no worrying about parking downtown. Great breakfast spot right around the corner and the house was perfect for me and my two teenage sons. Hosts were fantastic to communicate with!

The house is just far enough off West 7th to feel like you’re in an older residential neighborhood but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. The property is very clean. There is a lot of original woodwork and lovely wood floors. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is tiny but clean and functional ( except for that there is no plug in for the hairdryer). In general, you would be happiest if you brought an extension cord with multiple plug-ins for anything you must have close by at night (CPAP for me). It’s an old house, but I’ve stayed in new hotels that have no available plugs near the beds either. You can find most of what you need in the kitchen, although both of the smaller frying pans are very worn and should be replaced. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent again!

Property was great! Comfortable bed, quiet, great neighborhood, with some good restaurants.

We enjoyed our time in St. Paul! The cottage is a lower level unit located in a very quiet neighborhood. It had just the right amount of space for us and our toddler. We really enjoyed how much there was to do close by. If you're a plane loving adult or have a plane loving kid make sure to check out the MSP viewing area at the airport!

My husband and I were very pleased with our stay because the place is very clean and upgraded. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen updated. We have stayed in many places in St. Paul and this is one of our favorites. We hope to stay there again.

A well cared for, inviting duplex that made us feel right at home! This lower duplex is packed with well appointed comfort. Loved the spacious kitchen/dining area and really appreciated the washer/dryer.
We found the bed in the main bedroom very comfortable and the daybed + trundle combination in the second was great for our young grandchildren.
Austin and Elizabeth are wonderful hosts! They were very responsive and accommodating! Loved our stay!!!

I stayed before in this charming home, and I was excited to come back. That should be testament enough to this cottage. Highly suggest brunch at the A-Side Public House around the corner.

We enjoyed our time in this vrbo. The location is perfect for us. Austin is a nice host….so nice to meet him personally.

Nice, modest place. Very helpful hosts. Photos gave the right impression. Old building. Quiet neighborhood but convenient to the freeway. Trader Joes nearby. Local bars and restaurants within walking distance (but no riffraff). We were there in hot summer stretch. Wall unit AC was sufficient. Parking plentiful. Gas stove and other appliances fine. Comfortable queen bed and single bed. Extra bed available. TV remote was tricky but decipherable. Host was super.

Exactly what we were looking for and exactly as advertised. Nice property in a good location close to down-town St Paul and close to cycling trail access. Would definitely consider staying again.

Stayed here for two nights on our way to Two Harbors. Our kiddos (4 and 8 years) enjoyed the shared room with twin bed and pull out trundle bed. This restored home has retained many historic features with modern amenities and was very well stocked. However, the location was the main attraction and didn't disappoint. Was less than a 5 min drive to Children's museum and walking distance to several great restaurants, bakery, and a coffee shop. We walked to A-side Public House and had great dinner and drinks in historic fire station, which was also kid friendly. The host, Austin, was very responsive and made the stay super easy. Would recommend this property to anyone.

This is an older home that is remodeled and very nice and neat. However if you have more than 3 people staying and want to watch tv together, there is only a couch that fits 3 people in the living room and no other extra chair like a rocker or recliner so you have to sit on the floor or bring a chair in from the kitchen, but those are high wooden chairs.

Charm Out the Ears
I travel frequently, and I can honestly say this was one of my favorites. The house is rife with history you can feel. It’s decorated and updated cleanly and nicely but remains feeling like the historic house it is. The enclosed porch has a gorgeous view of the romantic street - trust me - watching the storm move in over the tree-lined avenue with the charming street lamps lighting up was perfect creative fodder for the book I was writing on at the time. We enjoyed the nearby brunch place with such good food I wanted to eat there every morning and afternoon. It is also close to everything we wanted to do without feeling like the middle of the city. Lastly, this place has a fridge with an ice maker. I have NEVER had a stay with a fridge with an ice maker and I am an ice-aholic, so I feel no shame in saying I squealed. My only note: There is no check-in guidebook with information on the location, Wi-Fi password, and check-out rules, so make sure you communicate with the owner. He was quick to respond, which is great.

Great stay in St Paul
Perfect house for my husband and I and our adult daughter visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday. The neighborhood is quiet and safe and has lots of cute restaurants. Trader Joe's is just up the road for groceries and it's a 10 minute drive to the airport. The house is set up as a duplex with the upstairs being a separate unit. We could hear footsteps but it wasn't a problem. The driveway is big enough to accommodate multiple cars so no one had to park on the street.
