I liked the old charme of the building.
When we placed the order we asked if we could please get a baby bed in the room. While the linen was fresh, the bed (mattress) smelled so horrific that we had to put the bed in the hallway. There was no one at reception so our little one slept in the middle. The next day the entire hallway smelled like the bed. The housekeeping asked us if we didn't want the bed to which we let them know about the smell. They said they would check it out. When we returned they had stopped the bed and laid new linen over the rail of the bed. The smell was still there. It is impossible that this couldn't be noticed when the bed was stripped. We left it in the hallway. We left the hotel earlier than originally planned and by then the smell was noticeable one flight of steps down from our room.
The bathroom was very dirty with a lot of hair in the shower. It is in desperate need for some anti chalk spray.
Usually I'm not that picky but this was very very bad. You could barely see out of the closed shower doors.
It just shows a lack of attention to detail.
For a 4 star hotel an absolute no go!

Great Location and a house with history. Good breakfast and nice staff . Awesome view to the River .
Parking limited and taken from visitors of the restaurant. There is additional parking a few hundred meters down the road but you have to carry your luggage through a park.

The hotel location is great, with beautiful views of the Rhine from the deck. The onsite restaurant and bar was excellent. Breakfast was very good.
We decided to take the cheaper room which ended up being a bit tight for two adults. It was also a bit noisy with the train tracks just across the street. I would spend the extra money for a river facing room next time.

The river view was nice and it was clean. Breakfast was tasty.
Very small and soft pillows. White room maybe nice for some people but in general not cozy feeling. Very small bathroom… hard to move. Very annoying WiFi that disconnects very often.

Very nice authentic place. Good location - for a stay and food. The restaurant has a great beer garden with views to the river. You will be close to all Linz has to offer.
Their rooms are all decorated differently which makes it to an adventure.
The staff is all nice and friendly.
The train tracks nearby are very busy at night.
But this is something one has to accept staying at the Rheinvalley.
As a hint - spend a few Euro more here for a hotel room towards the river.

The location is very nice, with great views of the Rhine. Eating at the restaurant can be very pleasant, if you reserve in advance (food can be served until 21h, although the website specifies 22h)
We had a black room, which was kind of scary, especially taking into consideration the idyllic location. The furniture/ finishings appeared either low quality (design “rock” wall was actually polyester, the closet was an industrial style, made out of black metal, exageraged black items like theater props) or right out freaky (the side of the bed had a glossy finish and model resembling a coffin). Apart from this, the room was completely functional and lacked no important items.
