About this house rental
LIC #3313
The Eagle's Nest is a beautiful 5 bedroom 4.5 bath home in the hills above Estes Park with breathtaking views of the nearby mountain peaks. Only .5 miles to Rocky Mountain National park and .5 miles to downtown Estes Park. The hot tub on the deck overlooks the valley below.
The gourmet kitchen has a large Sub Zero fridge, double ovens, and a gas cooktop. 4 large flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, shuffleboard, and games. Large enough for big groups, 3 separate floors, 4,500 sqft of space to spread out.
There are three floors to this spacious property. The 1st floor has a front entry and an entertainment room. The 2nd floor has all the common areas - kitchen, dining, living rooms along with one master suite with its own private balcony. There is a large outdoor living space off the kitchen where the hot tub is located. The 3rd floor has 4 bedrooms including another master suite with a private balcony. There are two driveways to the property - one from below that leads to the first floor and another that comes from above with access to the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Just a few minutes from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, The Eagle's Nest is located in a private, quiet, mountainside neighborhood overlooking the Big Thompson River. When you look out the front picture windows at Lumpy ridge and the Mummy Range of RMNP it's hard to believe you are only a 5-minute drive to downtown - close enough to walk if you are looking to stretch your legs. Just a half mile down Riverside Dr from downtown Estes Park.
WINTER TRAVEL - in the winter, snow is frequent and the driveway is steep. With 5-6 significant snow days (more than 3 inches) a month from November to April, we highly recommend at least 4-wheel drive. The paved driveway to the front of the house is about a 12% grade. There is a gravel road to the back of the house which has a 7% grade but is not as steep as the front. There is a good chance that you will experience some snow during your stay - which is one of the best things about Estes Park in the winter - but if you aren't prepared can cause problems!
The driveway to the front of the house is steep - 4-wheel drive is required in the winter. Enough parking for 5-6 cars. Only a half-mile drive to the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park and the same half-mile drive to downtown Estes Park.
An electric vehicle charger (Tesla Wall Connector with adapter for any J1772 EV) is free to use in one of the lower floor garages. The 60 Amp 240-volt circuit provides 11.5 kW of power. As an example, this charges a Tesla Model 3 (extended range) at 44 mph.
There is an elevator on the property that is kept locked due to liability issues. If you have an accessibility need, please contact the owner to discuss use - which would involve signing a liability waiver.

Our extended family ages 4-60+ enjoyed celebrating our parents retirements at this great property. The house was spacious and the teenagers loved the game room. The owner was extremely responsive and the property had everything that we needed. Huge perks were the hot tub and the garages.

Our family of 11 stayed at Eagles Nest for a family reunion in Estes Park, CO. This house is superb and clean with every detail and comfort needed. Beautiful bedroom and living spaces, balconies, picture windows, and large deck with gorgeous Rocky Mountain Views. The property is very close to town and just minutes from the Park entrance.
It’s not typical to stay in a vacation rental property where every light or device switch is labeled and working perfectly, nor every bedroom with phone chargers and sleep sound machines - exquisite touches that we really appreciated!
The host David Miller is excellent and highly responsive. We hope to come back to Eagles Nest some day! Thank you David

First vacation in 20 years and it was well worth it. The property was perfect. Great location, great amenities, and just a wonderful trip. There were so many little details that made the stay even more enjoyable. Great views. Will stay again if possible and hopefully it won't be 20 more years.

Gorgeous home for my family to gather for a long weekend. We reveled in the comfortable and beautifully-appointed spaces, the spectacular mountain landscape and the nearness to hiking and enjoying The Rockies. I would recommend this home unreservedly.

Eagle’s Nest was a terrific experience! We really enjoyed the view, house, spacious rooms, amenities and kitchen! Loved the location…close to town but absolutely serene! We loved it! We will be back!

What a beautiful home. The location was perfect. We stayed for 3 nights during spring break. Estes Park received 3 feet of snow during our stay and it was magical. We cooked all our meals and the kitchen is perfectly stocked. Hope to stay there again next year.

Beautiful home, location (very close to downtown & RMNP entrance) & pretty view. We were also able to bring our dog & enjoyed walks up the hill along the roads. House was large, clean, & well equipped to cook & clean up. Hot tub was in the perfect spot to soak & enjoy the view. We also frequently viewed the Eagle soaring overhead. Great TV/game room for kids & adults was an added bonus. Owner was quick to communicate & helped us with icy driveway by throwing sand down to help with traction & when we needed help with hot water. Just know, there’s plenty of hot water for everyone, just takes a bit to adjust temp when you change how warm or cold you want the water. We loved this house & hope to bring back a larger group next time to fill the home with fun & memories.

Everything was perfect! Many special touches! Close to town!
We are 11 adults ranging from 25 - 85 years old and many of us have some physical challenges. This retreat was the perfect way to meet everyone's needs for a long holiday.
The five large rooms include two master suites, so there is plenty of personal space. A master suite on the main floor was especially convenient for my in laws who use a walker and a wheelchair. They stayed on the main floor and easily joined in most activities. The rooms have independent heating, master suites have balconies, and the beds are comfy and cozy with amazing views. We saw eagles and elk!
The professional kitchen is a home chef's dream and there is plenty of space for everyone to work together, The kitchen was especially well stocked with cookware, drinkware, silver, linens, and even some barware. There was a great supply of kitchen essentials like flour, sugar, Pam, coffee and filters, etc. The appliances were easy to use and worked well. Lots of space in the cupboards and fridge for food we packed in, a beautiful dining table that seated everyone, and AWESOME disposable containers for all the leftovers. The hot tub and game room were both fun. The hot tub was well maintained and the game room included shuffleboard, cards, puzzles, a big comfy couch and a big screen TV.
The host was great too. It snowed during our stay and someone even plowed the drive. A little advice though, not much to do for little ones here AND bring your 4WD!

Spacious house right outside Estes Park for a family Thanksgiving. Plenty of rooms for everyone with quick access to things to do in town. House was fully furnished with all the necessities for preparing a Thanksgiving meal (aside from the food of course). Great view of the mountains at all hours.

House was wonderful. We have been staying in houses for years and this has the best view of mountains. I would recommend this to any large group. Elk were around each day. Quick access to downtown Estes.

Beautiful view from the large picture windows in the living/dining room. Saw elk and/or deer in the mountain meadow every morning. Property is professionally managed, clean, with quality appliances. Phone app was accurate and helpful even without cell service.
We did experience a communication issue but this was resolved satisfactorily prior to our departure. With 11 family members from 3 to 65 all were happy and comfortable with the property.

My family met up with my inlaws to stay here during our visit to Estes Park. We have never been to Colorado before and we were in complete awe of just how beautiful it is here. We enjoyed the views from the property and the hot tub and shuffle board won the group over. It was fairly easy to find and get to despite the road construction in the area. It is very close to downtown Estes Park and convenient to get to. The guide book the owner provided was an amazing bonus with great recommendations. The accomodations were absolutelt perfect and we will be recommending this property to anyone travelling there.

We truly had such an amazing stay! We came for our wedding and the house was hands down the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. Everything was incredibly clean and the house is stocked with pretty much every amenity anyone could ever need. The beds were very comfy, rooms nice and spacious. The views are incredible from pretty much every room in the house! We will definitely be back and will be staying there again! Dave, was wonderful to work with and very pleasant for everything we reached out to him about.

The house was just what we needed and the view was beautiful from every room. The property owner was easy to get in touch with and was extremely helpful. When we got there, he had been shoveling snow off of the driveway to make things easier for us. He even came back after he left to make sure we had a pack n play for our baby to sleep in. The wheelchair accessibility was good as well. That can be hard to find. Our family had a wonderful destination Christmas and would recommend for any family.

The house was spectacular, everything was in excellent shape and worked, and we were able to take advantages of all the amenities. The proximity to town and to the National Park were just perfect. The owner, David Miller, has clearly put a lot of time and effort into making the experience of staying at this property a real treat.

This Estes Park home was perfect for the gathering of five sisters. The rooms were spacious with all the amenities we needed for cooking, visiting, sleeping and alone time. And the mountain views were stunning from the decks, dining room and living room. The kitchen was well appointed and previous guests left some spices and basic pantry items. We all only wish we could have stayed longer.

Estees house
Beautiful house with a great view. There is no air conditioning so the rooms upstairs were pretty warm. They need fans in the two front bedrooms to circulate air. We had to go buy fans. The 4th bathroom was locked and not working so that was a bother for us to not have that. We paid for a 5 bedroom 4 bath, but didn’t get that with only 3 full baths. The door code didn’t work when we arrived so we had to call the owner. The location is fabulous.

Friends reunion
This was a perfect place for us to stay with 5 couples from high school. We enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful space for hanging out and cooking. The view is amazing and we watched an eagle, deer, elk and other creatures from the huge picture windows. David was great to work with. We had an awesome time!

We enjoyed the property immensely - loved the fact that we were so close to downtown; but yet still felt that we were were in our very own secluded space. Please send me David Miller, the owner, his contact information. I want to tell him about the smoke detector in one of the upstairs bedrooms. Shortly after arrival on Sunday; it kept going off - like every 3-4 hrs; so my son-in-law finally disconnected it. It’s laying on the island in the kitchen.

Wonderful Christmas in Estes Park
David's home was a wonderful setting for our family destination Christmas. We had an easy time finding and checking in and were charmed by the lovely space and the kids were thrilled that they had set up a Christmas tree in the living room! There were wonderful views from almost every room and there were lots of thoughtful touches (tons of kid toys, charging stations for cell phones, etc). The kitchen was fully stocked with basics and we wished we hadn't bothered to bring flour, sugar, etc. Really the only thing we actually needed were perishables and a few particular spices! We were VERY glad to have brought 4WD cars, though. They are not kidding about that driveway! We got a lot of snow while there and it was almost impassable, even with the 4WD. Someone did come to plow it and there were shovels, but even so, we were house-bound part of the time. Thankfully the house is so wonderful, we didn't mind! Thanks for sharing your beautiful space with us!
