The location high above the valley.
Apartments and Camping integrated and part of the daily work and life at the farm.
The interaction with the host - "Reisen bildet" we say in German, and it was really educational.
As advertised: It´s not a full appartement; there are some shared spaces, so there is always an element of chance. We were happy with the setting and the other guests.

Stefan is a super host. he welcomed us warmly and spent lot of time answering our questions not only about what to do in the area but also about his job and all his homemade products
The place was super clean, and the people sharing the apartment were very nice too.

This unique B&B was an enjoyable respite in our fast-paced 16-day exploration of Switzerland. The rooms were spotless. The beds and linens comfortable - and the sleeping rooms had windows with screens! The kitchen was supplied with quality appliances, utensils and serving-ware. Upon inquiry as to how best to get from Bern to the farm, Stefan gave us excellent advice then offered to pick us up at the nearby train station. Fortunately we only had 3 suitcases for the 4 of us as Europeans do not have large cars. The evening of our arrival, Stefan gave us a tour of his farm. On location is a small farmer's grocery where you can purchase meat, produce, and beverages, either from the farm or locally sourced - even ice cream! Breakfast is wonderful and he includes as much from his farm as possible. During our stay, we enjoyed eggs from his chickens, jam from fruits he harvested, and fresh cherries (they were in season) as well as cheese, ham, prosciutto, and delicious rolls. From the B&B, one is able to hike up to "First" peak and restaurant where you can see a panorama of alps, about 3 hours round-trip. I suggest taking the direct route both ways, not the long way via the goat-cheese seller unless you are an all-star hiker.
If you do not have a car, the biggest issue is luggage - you can get to within 1/2 mile of the B&B by train + bus, but part of that is rough gravel. Stefan's assistance was very appreciated. The only other dislike is the common quarters of the kitchen and living area have no screens, but this is common in Switzerland, so the pesky flies were a constant annoyance. I've decided a fly swatter will travel with me on all my future European trips :)
