Good community feel
EV car charging point in car park would help, but one in the village anyway

Super helpful staff, room was very clean and comfy with proper coffee, restaurant food was excellent.

would have preferred the option of a cooked breakfast
A cooked breakfast

Good. Did not expect a full english. Danish pastries on the stake side.
On!y one choice of fruit juice on the second day. The stairs to the bedrooms were difficult for elderly people

Friendly respectable staff, flexible check-in, free parking, comfortable bed.
Limited breakfast options,
No jam or marmalade to put on toast

What an amazing find. Owned and operated by a consortium of locals. Good and Bar Fantastic. The front of house and kitchen staff are great.
Rooms well appointed and very comfortable. Nothing to say against it.
Nothing at all.

Very clean, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable bed, quiet location.
A lovely concept (a community owned pub). Well done to the village of Halse for pulling it off, and good luck for the future.
It would be perfect if they were able to offer a cooked breakfast (but to be fair, the website makes it clear that they don’t).

Lovely warm welcome, and staff that really couldn't do enough for us. The onsite restaurant serves a range of dishes, catering for vegans and vegetarians also. It's a community-owned pub/cafe/restaurant so the atmosphere is very friendly and it was always busy - There's a positive buzz that's omnipresent. Breakfast was toast, pastries, and cereals, simply help yourself - We didn't miss a cooked breakfast, at all, there was sufficient to see us into the day. The room was fabulous - Huge bed (large double) that was really comfy, en suite shower was immaculate, and the view from the window onto a country lane from which we regularly saw horses go by. Deadly silent by night, which was great, even with the window open. Will definitely be back!

Quiet location but not to far from all the amenities. Staff could not have been more helpful. Room was perfect for a short break. Car parking on site. A number of local walks direct from the hotel. Would not hesitate to return
nothing to fault

Lovely clean rooms, friendly staff, quiet location. Comfy beds. Lovely hot shower.
One of the rooms was very hot so could perhaps use a fan.
Food good but deserts quite expensive.

We loved this place. The staff were so lovely and they really enjoyed working there.
The rooms were light and airy, and refreshingly, there were plenty of teabags and milk. Not the usual 2 that you get in most places! And Borders biscuits!
The bar and restaurant was excellent. There's actually an area where you can just have a drink. Some pubs now only seem to cater for diners and have a couple of bar stools.
The food and service was top notch.
The was a lovely atmosphere in the place, being a community pub, it is well used by the village and surrounding areas.
If you arrive too early to check in, there is a cafe at the back next to the car park.
I think they have thought of everything. We will definitely return!

We stayed here in February to attend our daughters wedding in Taunton and it was amazing. The rooms were recently decorated and furnished, the bed was very comfortable. Ours was probably the smallest room. Room 4. If we come again we will choose a larger room. The food was absolutely delicious. Thankyou Jake. He's an amazing chef. We chose Halibut and it was lovely. Thankyou to Selina and Georgia. You seem to love your jobs and it shows. Happy smiling faces. We shall definitely book again. Also recommend Merv our reliable taxi driver to and from locations.
Nothing really.

The staff were friendly and the service excellent. Bed and room very comfortable. And the pub food was excellent too - they clearly have a chef who knows how to cook good quality ingredients well.
My only complaint - I'm an early riser and it was a cold morning. Heating only came on at 7.30 a.m. - good for the planet, not for my comfort!

Room was lovely, we were treated exceptionally well by the staff and the food in the restaurant was first class
No charging point for car although we were offered to charge from the main had we remembered an extension lead
