Rien à voir avec l'hôtel, mais une personne du village a beaucoup trop insisté pour que l'on aille chez elle dès notre sortie de l'embarcadère.

Beautiful family and homestay - a piece of serenity on the mekong away from the city hustle

We loved our stay at Silk Island Homestay. A beautiful family sharing their beautiful home. A little slice of rural heaven in amongst the city hustle. The house is gorgeous and very well presented. Our host cooked us a bbq dinner and made us breakfast the next day. Delicious! We hired local bikes and rode leisurely around the small island and part of the big island. Lots of banana trees and beautiful flowers (similar to ones grown in Australia). The silk place was interesting to see silk being transformed from silk worm... We wanted to stay longer but had to get an early morning flight the next day. Highly recommend for a little adventure on the ferry across the mekong to this piece of serenity. I highly enjoyed staying at Theary’s homestay which is located on a very beautiful island, off the beaten track. I enjoyed everything’s at Theary’s place, from the nice decoration and the nice pool to the delicious local dishes she cooked. located less than 1 minute away from the main thing to do on the island (silk farm, which is very nice). to finish, super easy to get there from Phnom Penh (took me 20 min in total).

Pillows were a bit thick and hard but that’s the only minor negative I could find. everything was perfect.

Excellent homestay

Fantastic people, pool, and property. Thanks! Host family is happy to visit and also are working and living. Comfortable bed, good AC in the bedroom (not in the living areas). Tasty home cooking at reasonable prices. A few notes about location and transport: Lovely rural setting outside the city, with the sounds of life, worship, industry, birds, and farms. Easy to find using google maps and passapp. Passapp may offer drivers a very low fee from the city to the ferry so they don't pick up or try to call to negotiate, and tuk tuk drivers may not know where it is. I had a plan to go into the city twice during a day, but it's a bit far and not appealing to travel in the heat, so ended up staying out for the day. The road and bridge from the ferry are a bit tricky for a roller bag. Needs some planning for transport from the island. I'm not complaining: this is what it means to choose the rural option!

very cozy resort near Phnom Penh

1. people: very humble and friendly Cambodian owners 2. facility: kitchen, large fridge, thermo, hot shower, AC, swimming pool, spacious common space, veranda 3. location: close to the capital, need to take a boat but it runs frequently and cheap. 4. food: handmade Khmer food was so delicious. 5. well maintained and very clean it’s literally like “homestay”, if you are tired of hotel stay or interested in local life, here’s the option. Good for remote work or writing (not sure about wifi so you should have local sim for hotspot. “Smart” worked.)

A perfect haven away from the city on a friendly island

relax near Phnom Penh

Nice home in a quiet environment. the family is welcoming and the feeling is great. it’s near the river crossing and the silk island community. we had dinner the first night and it was delicious. the swimming pool is very clean

Gorgeous place to stay on a peaceful island, looked after by the loveliest Cambodian family

One of my favourite stays anywhere in the world. A beautiful homestay where an incredibly nice, welcoming family live on the bottom floor and the guests have the run of a gorgeously decorated top floor, complete with kitchen, dining area, huge balcony overlooking Silk Island's greenery and access to a small but lovely pool complete with rainshower. Felt ecstatic from the moment I arrived. The hosts cooked excellent food and greeted me with a cold coconut, and the value was superb.

I didn't like the fact I couldn't live there for the rest of my life

Exceptional

We felt as if we were part of this adorable family who welcomed us. The place is charming, a small oasis of peace and freshness a little out of the way of the noisy and polluted city. We enjoyed the swimming pool, the tasty local food and the precious advices of our hosts. Very pleasant stay, thank you very much that was exactly what we needed 🙏 we will come back !!

Amazing getaway from the city

Very kind and helpful people! We were here with some friends and had an amazing stay. They made sure we had everything we needed, even went to get pizzas and drinks for us. Rooms are very tidy and clean.

Spotless getaway with a beautiful Cambodian family

Theary and Sopheap were such a nice couple and their place was beautiful- super clean with a big living area and kitchen just for guests. The kitchen looks onto a huge green field which is exactly what I was looking for on my trip. The facilities were all new and the room was very comfortable with AC and a private bathroom.
