The New Caribbean Paradise is in a great location close to many of the East coast attractions (Bioluminescent bay, El Yunque, Seven Seas beach, Luquillo kioskos). The development has a resort feel (without the resort fees!) with a clubhouse and three pools available for your use. Views from the property are stunning, looking out over the marina into the Carribbean Sea. The unit is spacious, well furnished, and nicely laid out. Air conditioning worked well throughout except that the bedroom units can be noisy like hotel room A/C's. Our host was very friendly and provided great recommendations for restaurants and sights to visit. We appreciated the personal connection which added to the enjoyment of our stay.
Getting through security and finding the unit upon our first arrival was a little troublesome especially since we had travel delays and it was dark. (After that first time, getting through the gate was always quick.) While the unit was clean and nicely furnished, a few maintenance items need some attention to improve it even more. Some of the kitchen and dining ware could benefit from an upgrade as well. However if you will be mainly dining out, this won't be a concern at all.

The unit was spacious, had nice views, and was very clean upon arrival.
In addition to the incredibly inconvenient policy of not accepting credit cards, the property manager took all but $15 of my $300 security deposit because I accidentally broke a cheap plastic knob used to tighten a faulty shower head that wouldn't stay in place. The shower was virtually unusable when I arrived because it was positioned at about the height of my ribs and pointing straight at the wall. It was clearly on the verge of falling apart as it had serious signs of rust and wear, I just happened to be the unfortunate guest to find out and be held responsible for repairing it. I notified the property manager immediately when this happened on the second day of my weeklong stay to demonstrate transparency and help her out by letting her know that it would need to be fixed. Not only did she wait until after my stay, Maritza was completely unreasonable when I explained the situation and refused to spare me a dime of the price to have a plumber replace the ENTIRE shower head and adjustable track—with a MUCH nicer looking one than the original. To me, this is like buying a new car after getting a flat tire. I had to hound her about my security deposit for weeks after my stay, only to receive my measly $15 an entire TWO MONTHS later.

Beautiful property, scenery, and amenities!
Nothing to dislike.

Going to keep this short and sweet, because unfortunately, the experience we had overshadows a lot of the good things. But the property is elevated, so you get a really nice view from the apartment. The amenities like the gym and having pool access were nice to have. The AC was very effective at cooling down the apartment. As far as groups go, the space was large enough to accommodate my friend group of 5 comfortably.
Working with the host on this trip negatively impacted our overall experience. The biggest issues we had are as follows:
1. We were given the wrong address to the apartment that was almost 4 km off. We had to call her to get the address of which she just sent a link and not a physical address.
2. 5 guests had to share 1 set of keys. The host claimed that every resident in the complex only has one set. For anyone that has ever lived anywhere, that is false.
3. There is a security code to the front door of the apartment. The code provided was wrong and we had to contact the host to get the correct code. The code also only worked for opening the door, not closing it which kind of rendered it useless.
4. The security process to entering and leaving the apartment complex is tedious. Because security wasn’t notified, we had to re-register with security for almost the entire duration of our trip. This was about a 10 min process each time just to enter the complex.
5. To book the host only accepts cash and money orders. No other place that we stayed at in PR needed to be booked this way. It made it very inconvenient to book this property.
It’s really unfortunate because the view from the property is gorgeous, but the host was just so disorganized that I would rather pay more and book elsewhere than jump through all of these hoops ever again. It just wasn’t worth it.

Maritza made the booking and check-in process seamless. We arrived at the property and she was there waiting for us. We quickly went up to see the condo and given precise instructions on what we needed to know for our stay. If you're staying in Fajardo, look no further. This place has it all and it's within minutes of everything amazing in Fajardo and Eastern Puerto Rico!
