Adorable property, great location, staff was always friendly and helpful, good coffee, cocktails and food, amazing amenities! Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for!
Zero complaints!

stylish room decor and dining decor. best thing was the comfortable bed.
very loud, not for any peace and quiet. very expensive for what you get.

Beautiful grounds. Nicely appointed room. Friendly staff. The lounge and game room are terrific, as is the patio with the fire pits.
Our room's ir conditioner was old...loud and not cooing at all. They did replace it, so second night was more comfortable than first. But the replacement unit, tho better, was still a bit loud. Also wish the pool were just a bit heated. Still, we loved our stay!

Meals and bar and outside dining option
I rather pay for food and drink as I buy it. not charge 100 to my bill. The receipt was not complete when I left.
Had to ask for bill part from booking.com and still not see how much was spent from 100 extra deposit.

I am a big fan of renovated and modernized mid-century motels, and the High Country Motor Lodge fits the bill. The large rooms were comfortable, there is plenty of parking, and the grounds are classy.
Where to start? Check-in was a mess. I guess I arrived at the wrong time, but the little (and hard to initially locate) check-in desk was entirely swamped. The single flustered person manning the desk kept pointing the pile of guests to the inscrutable self-check-in kiosks. I had just ridden 500 miles on a motorcycle, and the last thing I wanted to do at check-in was take a department of motor vehicle style test on a computer AND figure out how to activate my door key with it. They overcharged me for my room (according to the what Booking.com had reported as my total charge) - by $100! When I emailed them about this, I got some mumbo-jumbo about pre-charging for, I guess, room service or something. Whatever, but if Booking.com tells me "You're going to pay this and nothing else." and the hotel charges me $100 more than that out of the gate, my eyebrows raise. On to the room, then: comfortable (check), roomy (check), but paper thin walls (womp-womp). I had to listen to my neighbor's television blaring FOXNews my entire waking stay. Finally, and worse irrespective of the unexpected overcharge, this place IS just a motel, but it charges like (or more!) than some toney hotels. The price-to-value ratio is way off in my experience.

The common area with the bar, general store, and games was very cute and cozy.
The pool was very dirty. Water was cloudy and dirty and needed to be treated. My daughter dived to the bottom and saw trash at the bottom of the pool which you couldn’t see just looking down because it was so cloudy. She’s 11 and was so grossed out she would t go back in. There was a hair on the toilet up checking in, gross.

It’s beautiful, and feels homey
that the food choices they had to offer where that great, at least for my family and myself. the bathrooms need a fan for the steam of the shower, and the ceilings look like they where going to fall

very hipster/ trendy and all around good southwest vibes. Great location and the bar/ lobby are super visually appealing. we rented the sauna one night and really enjoyed that but would recommend booking 2 -50 min sessions as we could have definitely stayed longer then 50 min.
We felt for the high price of the rooms the staff could have been more helpful and attentive. They are a young college staff. I don’t think anyone working there was over 30 which is cool but definitely lacking in customer service experience.

Understanding this is an old property that they have done a lot of work on their lobby, bar and restaurant. They need to continue their investment to their other spaces like common areas and rooms. Those updates look cosmetic and you can tell they just put lipstick on a pig.

Cutest hotel. Loved the hot tub, was to cold for the pool. Very comfortable rooms.
No ice machine on site but you could fill your bucket at the marketplace/restaurant area.

The lobby and main gathering area was adorable.
The room we had was in the back. The heater made crazy noises all night that kept the family up. The train was right behind the property, so that made it very noisy. No phone, no clock. Wall were thin, could hear the neighbors.

loved the bar area, parking was easy

This is clearly an old two story motel where someone had a vision of how cool that could be and decided to execute that vision! The retro and artistic details were great, the room was plenty spacious and totally quiet, the bar scene was happening (but quiet at night), all in all just a fun stay.
Great for visiting Flagstaff. Just look at the distance to Grand Canyon when making plans for visiting there.

Beds were very comfortable. Room was very clean.
The fragrance in the lobby was not the best, in my opinion.

Very stylish and clean place. The rooms surround the pool/spa area and outdoor patio area which is visually pleasing. There is a place on site to buy food and drinks.
I didn’t enjoy the weird smell that the establishment sprayed all over the entrance, lobby, restaurant/bar area. It reminded me of how Abercrombie and Fitch used to spray cologne all over their stores. It was too powerful and I felt like they were trying too hard. Rooms did not have any smell though.
Also, make sure you check your credit card statements so that you don’t get charged twice. I prepaid with booking.com and had to show proof in order for them to remove a second potential charge for the night.

The overall feel and aesthetic of the hotel was amazing. Super cozy lounge and bar area. Fun games room with lots of games options. The room itself was average sized but the beds were extra comfortable.
Unfortunately we were there during a large snow storm so the walkways to the rooms were very slippery and covered with snow. Also, some of the common areas were cold, leading us to not want to sit and stay awhile. Also, we were told the sauna would cost an extra $90/hour for the four of us to use it, which I thought was a little high.

It’s an old motel that has been very cutely renovated: comfortable beds, good bathroom amenities and coffee. The bar is terrific and great bar staff; games and delicious casual dinner from cafe/store. There is also a pool and hot tub which we didn’t use but looked good.
Waking up to a moronic, loud woman in room behind ours screaming and banging around at 1.45am about how her boyfriend ruined her hair. She went on and on. The noise came through the old fashioned air vent in bathroom, thunderous. Would have banged on her door except we were in middle of a snowstorm.
