The location was exceptional - at the end of a road, very peaceful.

Location was great, private, nice view. Comfortable beds, great fire. Enjoyed watching the bird life.
Dog friendly and safe yard.
While I understand the house is a work in progress, I live in a 1930's farm house so I know about reno's. I do think the house could be finished more before hiring out. Shower outside in laundry, cement in toilet area rough and unfinished.
Verandah area in places feels unsafe, steps to verandah awkward.
Lack of essentials supplied. Dead flies and insects on windows and dining room sitting.
Garden is overgrown and looks unkempt.

Suhela is a great host as well as Annie. Wylah cottage is very unique and cozy. There was plenty of space and things to do in and around the property. The location is quiet and peaceful. My husband and I loved our stay and would love to come back when visiting Bruny.

The beds the and concrete blocks that hold them up dangerous to kick.

The cabin was great. Well furnished and complete with books and board games for when the weather scared us from going outside.
The Tassie cold was taken care of easily with heaters in each room and the ability to make a fire.

Fabulous location up close and personal with the wildlife and birds. I had some of my best encounters with birds here - Green Rosella, Red Robin and Grey Fantail. The property is tucked away in Simpsons Bay its so peaceful and quiet and a good place to walk and explore the area. I must add its quite central on Bruny island so makes for shorter car trips when exploring further afield on the island. We loved the slow pace here it was the first time I cooked on our holiday so the fully equipped kitchen was appreciated. And it was a real treat to make an open fire in the evening.
The floors in the house were a bit of a problem for us older ladies - the house needs a total re-blocking we had to get used to veering left to right and up and down, reminded me of my youth looking at houses to buy and renovate. The numerous rugs on the wooden flooring were also a bit of a trip hazard for us.

Authentic Island Cottage, very quiet and lovely view towards the water. Good location centrally on Bruny.
Comfy bed and nice linen, good water pressure in shower. Host was really helpful with tips on visiting the island.
It is an older cottage, so it has some interesting characteristics. A bit like staying at your grandparents' beach bach, don't expect everything to be shiny & new. It is at the end of a 4-5km unsealed road.

Beatiful view at the property, and Suhela was extremely helpful the whole time we were there :) Would recommend

Quiet, beautiful location at the end of a dirt road, but good driving distance to all Bruny's attractions. , Has everything you need in the kitchen. Feels homely, lots of interesting artwork, and quirky - sloping uneven floorboards, kids got lost a couple of times in the house :) all very clean. Lots of local visitors - wallabies, rabbits, and different birds.

Sadly, the weather..!!

cosy, clean, the beds were big & the best ever pillows!
we were hoping to have a BBQ but the Webber was very small & past it’s use by date!
But there was a great electric grill & big fry pan that did the job and we took it out on the veranda! winner!

The location was superb, there was a lovely dog. The open fire was great. The owner was friendly.
The house was freshly painted and decorated with interesting works of art.
We did not expect to have to go outside to a shower room.
The low water pressure meant that the only way to flush the toilet effectively was to use a bucket flush and the hand basin in the toilet room only provided a little trickle of cold water - no hot.
Hot water tap at the sink was broken and the only way to get hot water in the kitchen sink was to open the isolator tap under the sink.
The floor levels were uneven with undulations and step up level changes.

The very cottage like quality was exactly what we were after. Loads of room, we visited in the middle of winter and there were plenty of heating options, portable and fixed.

For us location was perfect travelling by car.lt was very central to travelling around south Bruny lsland. It was quiet ,end of a 4 km dirt lane which was easy to drive on but watch the wallabies at night. If you were travelling fast, most likely to damage your car.
The old home was quirky, very clean, well equipped kitchen and beautiful views.
Great place to get away from everything but not far to shops and eating out if you want to.
Nothing bothered us .
