Location good. Rooms clean.
Like an air b n b. Staff reply to a WatsApp so communication is a bit disjointed. No hot water for two of the five mornings I showered. First morn, somebody replied to say said they would fix it that day (they did). The second time, two days later, he said that the hot water may have been used up. Staff has a ‘whatever’ attitude and would not update me; they left me chase them. I wasn’t nagging; I was polite but I needed a shower to go to work. Also, they advertise a bath on booking.com but the staff have removed every bathplugs! I had booked the room in order to have a bath, so that was a pain.I asked staff via message as they said it was for ‘safety reasons’. Don’t advertise room with bath then, no?

Most things were great, starting from the location, the member of staff who welcomes me, cleanliness, and comfort except for a couple of things. The pricing was pretty good, and if I have the opportunity to stay here again, I will.
The wifi stopped working from midnight till I checked out and left in the morning, I don't know why and the heating wasn't working from midnight as well which was not so fun but luckily I had a sim card with the internet so it was okay. But, the rest was great.

Lovely hosts, and they were easy to get in touch with. The room was clean and the house was a reasonable distance from the city centre.

We didn't have breakfast. The location was good very close to town.
The room was a little small for the price we paid. I don't like shared bathrooms.

No breakfast
A normal budget room, money value is 💯!

The location was as expected - it wasn't central. However, it was nice to see the local neighbourhood.
The kitchen was full of broken cupboards and they only provided one towel knowing that the room was for two people. The mattress was uncomfortable. There was also a lot of noise (creaking floorboards) coming from above early in the morning.

I got sent the code for the front door and the code for the lockbox that was associated with my room. The room was exactly what I needed for one night and to be honest I'd have probably stayed there for up to 4 nights. I didn't try the TV but the bed was comfy, wardrobe had plenty of hangers and there was a kettle for tea/coffee in the room. The bathroom was a shared bathroom and it was clean. It felt like I was staying at a friend's house and I liked that vibe.
Nobody was on sight to ask questions and when I tried to call the number provided I never got a response. I'd wanted to check in at 3pm but no answer to my phone calls and I didn't get my access codes until half 4. I had to be somewhere at 6pm so if I'd waited until half 4 to start getting ready I would have been late but luckily I was able to get ready somewhere else. The bed was mega squeaky but honestly, for what I paid and what I needed it for - amazing value and great location. Would definitely stay again.

Good kitchen facilities, not many places have a oven that guests can use. Makes cooking cheaper and more enjoyable

I couldn't close the window... and there wasn't any universal adapter to plug-in my phone

They had given out two keys to the room I was staying in and a man came into my room at 11.30pm at night while I was in bed about to go to sleep. I was alone and this put my safety at risk.
The accommodation offered no apologies or compensation and were extremely unprofessional.

Incredibly noisy until about 4am - people banging on the front door and on our ground floor window.
Strange check in process where you have to call a number and they text you the details to get in - a woman ended up letting us in as she was leaving, no idea if she worked there or not?! Doesn’t seem like there were any staff onsite at all during our stay.
Room was filthy and run down. I wasn’t even confident the room had been cleaned before we checked in.
Overall very disappointing.

I had a pleasant stay at Bankwell Guest House. An affordable option to stay while visiting Manchester. There was no mention of a private bathroom, a pleasant surprise to find one in my room.

Very clean and modern. The management staff and Dorothy(cleaning lady) and her husband made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. Hot chocolate, coffee and snack were prepared for me.
They felt much experienced in managing the guest house. I chose the guest house many times in Manchester. Thank you and see you!

Location
The accommodation is like a lodge. Was able to see more bachelors at the property. Did not feel like using the mattress and duvet provided. Did not look or smell fresh. Worst experience. Will not recommend it for families.

I like the room and the building.
The cleanliness of the shared bathroom obviously you can’t be cleaning everyday but people left their hairs and public hairs in bath tub and sink area. Couldn’t use the shower as I didn’t think it was hygienic so showered else where but doesn’t fault the room and how my stay was. Also i didn’t know where the kitchen I was offered but still could have showed to ensure I know where everything thing is. Also had two spiders in the room obviously not their fault but was too scared to kill them and leave marks on the walls.

There is very little to like about this property
Poor hospitality. Complimentary tea and coffee is limited to one cup per day (there is a kettle in the room). Didn't leave enough sachets out despite 4 requests for more they continued to be really stingy on saving a few pennies by only giving you two teabags upon each request. Owner was even rude about it, saying it wasnt a buffet and that I should buy my own.
I think this example best sums up the experience. The shower water was also changing temperature constantly but I didn't get to reporting that because the tea coffee situation was an ongoing waste of time battle

Stayed here when I came for my PLAB 2 exam. Just a 6 minute drive to the exam centre. My room had toilet and bathroom ensuite and was exactly as depicted in the photos. Room was neat and vicinity was quiet(good for exam prep). There was also free WiFi which came in handy

Great location, lovely room. Secure entry system. The gentleman on reception was lovely, very welcoming and helpful with local information. Free parking was a bonus.
We were happy with our stay but if I had to choose something we didn’t like, the bed was a bit springy and the heating wouldn’t come on at night.
