Perfection in Chobe

Out of all places we stayed within Zambia and Botswana this one is by far our favourite: 1. Really fantastic rooms with a view 2. Variety of great activities. And activity Center is simply a pleasure to deal with 3. Fantastic staff, especially thanks to Selelo for checking up regularly if all is to perfection 4. Location - close to the shop, banks 5. Loved the breakfast 6. On the upside for the future, once Safari lodge reception is renovated and the second swimming pool is open it will be simply a perfection.

I think the restaurant could benefit from Kid’s menu. My daughter is a picky eater, and we really struggled to find her anything from the menu.

Excellent stay

The service, the rondavel was a delight. The staff could not have been more helpful, and the smiles lit up the day. Food was first class.

A great spot to kick off a safari from.

Location and the rooms had been refurbished.

It was difficult to get information re the location of the rooms for a group of 10. Also, I made a dinner reservation for 10 and they made it for 8. Once there though, the client liaison was good and helpful.

A fabulous stay

The rooms were beautifully decorated with a spacious and elegant ensuite. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the warthogs, baboons and occasional buck wandering around on the grass near the river. The dining and sitting areas of the Safari Lodge overlook the swimming pool, the Chobe river and Namibia in the distance - a spectacular view, especially as the sun sets. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They efficiently organized a variety of activities such as a visit to Vic Falls, boating on the river and a trip into Chobe National Park. The guides on these outings were very knowledgeable and eager to give one a good experience. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

We stayed in Chobe Safari Lodge for 5 nights and we got a bit tired of having the buffet dinner every night even though it did change a bit. However we discovered that the Chobe Bush Lodge, which is just behind the Safari Lodge and on the same property, does a la carte meals and is happy to take bookings from people staying in the Safari Lodge.

Nice hotel, but there are better ones for less money

Room was modern, big and clean

Service at the reception can be improved, no consistency of warm water in the shower. We paid 900$ für 3 nights and 2 persons incl breakfast which is considering the facilities, service and country definitely way to much money and not worth it. Unfortunately Kasane is in general expensive as it is a tourist hot spot

For us it was a great choice for a little luxury after a long safari.

Plenty of choice for breakfast although the bacon wasn’t the tastiest for people coming from Ireland 😀

Food could have been a bit better but there was a good choice. Staff 50/50 in their service approach.

Fabulous location with amazing access to the wonderful Chobe National Park

Location and ambience. Mostly the food was good

Room service was not good. They didn’t replace towels when requested 3 times and the pressure to tip all waiting staff was a pain especially because we ran out of small change and they wouldn’t change larger notes for us at reception

Superb

Chobe Safari Lodge’s attention to detail is unmatched. This is somewhere that makes you feel at ease as soon as you arrive and check in. Their hospitality extended to ensuring my family and I (group of 4) were well looked after by the hotel throughout our stay at the end of March 2023. The hotel serves top quality food in their restaurants. If this something you are looking for in Venice this is should be your spot. I arranged a birthday dinner for my partner and they made sure she felt special throughout our dinner. I would like to extend my thanks especially to Nametso for arranging our tour package and Selelo for looking after us in Kasane. Ke a leboga! Tapiwa

Mediocre - I don't think I would return

The rooms were excellent and the river cruises also very good.

morning game drive was rubbish - far too many vehicles all trying to cover the ground at pace. Needs better control and limits. The evening meal at Bush Lodge was great. The pool should not be placed in the centre of everything. The dinners and breakfasts were over priced and of poor quality in Safari Lodge

Everything was amazing. The people are beautiful, so friendly and made you feel so welcome.. special mention to Twinkle who is the best waiter with every attention to detail. Room and view were incredible. Can't wait to come back !!

Best part of our trip : the game drive and sunset cruise we took.

Breakfast was good. Nice selection of foods. Very friendly staff.

The person checking us in had a bit of an attitude. The rooms smelled like mold ; not pleasant. Dinner was a bit pricey for selection offered.

Overall good, food needs more attention

Staff, location, room, amenties were all great! Free upgraded room was much appreciated.

Slippery walkways without any grit or sand to prevent accidents. Food needs some attention to detail. Even with the upgrade, overall pricey in terms of value for money.

Excellent location perhaps the only one outside of the park. Game drives were good and the 3 p.m. boat sundowner cruise was the BEST. We went twice an saw different stuff on both. Food was extensive selection (but very overcooked). Better get the 2 meal plan because there is nowhere else to eat in town. Servers were very friendly and good overall. Main areas were very pleasant. Nice freebies in the room (we got wine and treats). Gorgeous sunsets.

The rooms are really shabby. In desperate need of a remodel. Extremely loud air conditioners/fans and gross carpet, bathroom doors rotting out. You had to sign a check for every meal even though it was included, redundant, weird and cumbersome. Some staff kind of hounded you - we assumed trying for more tips (like the cleaning staff). Unstable wifi.

Good

Breakfast really good with friendly staff to assist and quality of food prepared good.

Cost don't match stay, need to ask daily for coffee in room and clean towels. No one assist with taking luggage to room or for that matter taking it to vehicle when we left. Overall cost including breakfast P3550 per night I believe an overcharge. But apart for the small things mention a lovely place and we enjoy our stay.
