Wonderful

I had an amazing stay with Raj and his family. From the moment I set foot into their loving home, I was treated like one of their own. I had the privilege of joining them for their Mother’s Day party and I thoroughly enjoyed the Tamang culture, history and food. Thank you so much for everything :)

Exceeded my expectations

My stay at Sunrise Point exceeded my expectations. The private rooms are huge and you get a double bed and private bathroom with a hot efficient shower. The views from the room are breathtaking, you can see the Himalayas, and are incredible at sunrise, it feels like you are living in the clouds. The rooms are set in their own area away from the family home so it's very peaceful and private so you can have plenty of solitude in the quiet mountains, but it felt very homely and special to join the family and eat in the communal area, having each meal cooked fresh with ingredient from the farm. The family all care about their guests so much always making sure they have the best time. Staying here is such a special experience to live close to a local family to learn from them about their farm, the passion for a happy life, their culture and traditions.

Wonderful homestay.

It was great home stay experience. Although it's bit far from bus stop, I could enjoy quiet time and beautiful sunrise in Nagarkot. In the night I enjoyed meal with family. all the time was lovely. The meal was great, all come from their farm.I want to come back again!

Stunning views, wonderful family, homegrown food - what more do you need

This place is just the best. If you’re seeking a true, down to earth Nepali experience, look no further. Such a WONDERFUL, caring family surrounded by exceptional nature, freshly preparing every meal with ingredients all grown right in their garden. The room is simple yet totally sufficient, if you’re wanting swanky hotel room comfort then you don’t suit this place anyway. It’s just bliss, honestly. Such a beautiful escape from the world and such lovely company. If you’re lucky with the weather you’ll catch a sunrise over the Himalayas right from your bedroom, but that’s certainly not the main attraction. Stop searching and book this place now, (and add an extra night or two to what you were originally planning)

Välkomnande och trevligt.

Fantastisk utsikt mot soluppgången. Trevlig och familjär stämning. God mat med bara egna råvaror, ägg grönsaker mm. Tyst läge utan trafik.Bara 1 timme med buss från Bakthapur.

Avståndet från buss-stationen var inte så långt men det var en lång brant backe hela vägen så det blev tufft att bära ryggsäcken ner och upp igen.

Super nice hosts who make you feel right at home and cook delicious meals for you. Basic accommodation but clean bathrooms and bed sheets. Don't expect luxury in a remote homestay for a decent price. Location is superb for sunrise and easy to reach from Nagarkot bus stop within 20 minutes walking.

Cute home stay, value for money

Super nice location, 20 minutes walk from the bus stop. Overlooking the valley! Gorgeous. Great value for money and yummy food.

Rock hard beds, we were told it is good for your back, but after the two nights we were there, I had back and shoulder pain. Maybe get an extra soft layer as Ram offers upon arrival

I loved staying at this homestay. Ram, Raj and the entire family are amazing people. The food at the restaurant is the best I have had during my time in Nepal! This homestay has basic facilities which is reflected in the friendly price. The beds are quite hard, but just ask for more padding and blankets and they will provide you.

Nice and quiet, simple place, beautiful nature around. Bed was a bit hard but I was offered additional mattress/ blanket. Kind family and good food.

Lovely family run accommodation

Very kind family owning the rooms. Beds are quite hard and restrooms facilities quite old fashioned but all clean. Traditional family food was great! (limited drink available except water bottles and very good black, milk and spices teas) Location is a bit of a walk from Nagarkot market/bus stop, but ideal for being closer to nature, plenty of bird singing morning and evening, lovely farming surroundings, quick access to nice hikes around. With more luck than me, you'll probably get clear sky and a superb view of the Himalayas. I hope they can extend their room number as they wish in the future :)

A homestay as a homestay should be, lovely people running a family business, really felt at home. They want to help you in any way they can. If you're open to it, you can learn a lot about local culture and Nepal in general. The food is amazing and fresh. The view is gorgeous.

The beds and toilets are 'local style': wasn't a problem for me (especially if you compare the price to other accommodation in the area) but don't expect western style toilet or a thick matrass.

This is the perfect place if you seek tranquility, beautiful sunrises and being submersed in Nepalese culture. The restaurant serves really delicious and fresh food in generous portions. The owners and their families are very welcoming and friendly! The room was exceptionally clean and spacious.

Very friendly and kind family running the homestay. We tried their homemade tongba and the flavour was great. The food we ordered (veg thali) was exceptional. The view is beautiful. The area is great for hiking. If im in Nagarkot I would definitely stay here again. Dont forget to take some biscuits for the dogs and chickens.

It was one of the best properties we stayed at during our travels in Nepal! Our main purpose for visiting Nagarkot was to see the sunrise and this homestay was just the perfect spot for watching the sunrise! Just right infront of our room was the sunrise point and we woke up seeing the sun rising and were absolutely happy :) The people managing the homestay were kind and friendly, served us homemade traditional Nepali food which was really delicious, the breakfast was sumptuous as well! The location is a bit far from the bus park due to which we had to walk uphill and downhill for less than a mile but at the end were glad to be at a property like this :)

Authentic spot with all amenities and frindly family staff!

Really cool spot! The price and reviews are on point. Everything was clean and tidy, the rooms are nice with view straight out of the room. Hosts shared with us about local life, everything was cooles fresh from home garden.

Amazing place and perfect sunrise!

I stayed 2 nights at Sunrise Point Homestay and it was great! The view from the room is absolutely stunning, I had the best sunrise in 3 months traveling through Nepal! The host family is friendly and welcoming, the food is cheap and delicious, everything is fresh and come from the garden. The place is quiet and I wish I could have stayed longer because this is the perfect place to be for settling a bit after weeks of backpacking... Thank you for everything!

Amazing Hospitality

Amazing hospitality by the entire family. Had an amazing time at Sunrise Point Homestay. There was a family celebration and I was made a part of it. Felt so good being time. Wish I could stay a bit longer. But no worries, I will come back to meet Sakshi, Ganga and Jamuna. Must recommended for the sunrise view.

As a solo traveler, I faced difficulty in reaching the property. Maybe, add a guideline on how to reach from Kathmandu and Nagarkot.

The sunrise view is amazing and the staff is nice.

The facilities are very basic and the location is very far from the bus stop and taxis are overpriced. The way there is mostly down, but to go back to the bus station it's all uphill.

I had an amazing stay at sunrise viewpoint. Ram, Raj and their family are incredibly nice and will give you a very warm welcome. I spent my two evenings there chatting with them and the other guests, and I learned a lot about Nepal. The food is very good and organic (most of the food comes from the garden). The location is also great : very quiet with a beautiful view and amazing sunrises.

Beautiful view and family

The guesthouse has a beautiful view for the sunrise. It's wonderful. It worth to go a little bit outside Nagarkot. The family is amazing, they are really nice. It was really hard to leave this place. The food is amazing, local food with the vegetables of the garden. Beautiful!
