The harbour area has two great fish and chip shops, and a couple of more upmarket restaurants specialising in fresh fish. Boat trips to Coquet Island can also be taken here. Nearby Warkworth is a pretty, picture postcard village dominated by its castle which sits at the top of the village. The local pubs and cafés are all well worth a visit too.
Amble is close to the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching along the beautiful coastline to Berwick-upon-Tweed, with miles of golden beaches and castles. Be sure to visit Holy Island during your stay. The historic town of Alnwick is only 10 miles away, where you can visit the Duke of Northumberland’s home at Alnwick Castle, more famed for featuring in the Harry Potter films as well as a Downton Abbey Christmas edition.
