Just a few miles away is Alnwick Castle, used in some Harry Potter and Downton Abbey scenes, or the stunning Alnwick gardens. Wander around some of the cobbled streets and have a coffee in Barter Books, one of the largest book stores in England and well worth a visit. Travel down the coast to Tynemouth and Whitley Bay, where a pretty promenade stretches along for lovely walks with plenty of wine bars and bistros to visit. Great to have all en-suite bedrooms and the catering facilites better than we have at home. Although the location is perfect for dining out we also used the facilities for cooking and baking for 7 people and found every utensil to hand. There is so much to see and do locally and up to 1hr drive away. The welcome pack was more than ample, the towels were top quality and the beds were very comfy. A perfect fot for a large family group.

Immediate impressions of the location and interior downstairs was a little underwhelming and looked a little ‘tired’ and cluttered compared to the photo in the listings. We also felt the dining room was very exposed to the street and would suggest adding frosted glass to the lower half of the windows.
However, we were impressed with the bedrooms and en suite facilities.
The kitchen was incredibly well equipped, if the layout was rather cramped and awkward for a large group property.
All of the above is intended as constructive suggestions.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay in the house and exploring the local area.
